Chapter 891: Chapter 601: What Does It an to Be Unlucky?

First update.

—————

“Why are you here?” Luo Xiaoqiong was sitting on the bed, swinging her legs out of boredom. When she saw Chuxia co in, she jumped off with delight. “Weren’t you supposed to accompany the captain to visit relatives today?”

“He was notified last minute to attend a eting, so I ca along with him…” Chuxia looked at her puzzled, “Where are Fat Auntie and Uncle Gangshun?”

“They went to room 309 to visit…” Luo Xiaoqiong shrugged helplessly. “During breakfast, my mom ran into an acquaintance, so after eating, my dad and she went over there.”

“Fat Auntie ran into soone she knows here? Could it be they’re also here to spend the New Year’s with their kids?”

Luo Xiaoqiong nodded, “They’re from the sa village as my mom. Their son is also in the military here, and he hasn’t been ho for the New Year for two years. He’s the only child, so his grandmother wanted to see him, and his parents ca along with the old lady.”

Chuxia shifted the topic, “How is Erniu doing?”

“Nothing’s wrong really. When we changed shifts, I went with Erniu. Ning Qinqin’s attitude toward Erniu has improved a lot…” Luo Xiaoqiong said, coldly snorting, “If she dares to act up again, I’ll show her what I’m capable of.”

“You can’t hide this kind of thing for long. To have soone like her, it’s just…” Chuxia clicked her tongue in disapproval. In thirty years, this might be common, not enough to affect a person’s future, but in this era, if it gets out, the consequences could be unimaginable.

“Chuxia, really now?” Luo Xiaoqiong circled around Chuxia. “You’ve seen this kind of thing before, is it really necessary to be this surprised?”

“When did I see it before?” Reflexively asking this question, Chuxia regretted it imdiately. From Luo Xiaoqiong’s tone, it seed like she had encountered such a situation before, just not this ti.

Sure enough, Luo Xiaoqiong looked at her in amazent, “When Luo Ying’s mom in our village was with Jianbao’s dad, didn’t we bump into them? You even shouted about it till the whole village knew, don’t tell you’ve forgotten, I won’t believe it.”

“Oh oh oh…” Chuxia acted as if she suddenly rembered, “You’re talking about that case, but that’s different. Ning Qinqin isn’t married, you can’t compare it to Luo Ying’s mom, right?”

“That’s true…” Luo Xiaoqiong thought for a mont and added, “It’s pretty much the sa though, listening to them talk, Ning Qinqin wanted to use Director Qiao’s influence to settle her brother’s job.

Luo Ying’s mom got involved with Jianbao’s dad because he was in charge of distributing food, she wanted to get more at the ti. So, in that sense, it’s the sa nature.”

“Alright, I guess I’m just inexperienced.” Chuxia moved closer to her and whispered, “Let tell you, Zhou Mikang lent us a novel; I’ll get it to you later.”

“Really?” Luo Xiaoqiong’s eyes widened, “Your captain is so nice, truly a great person. Chuxia, it’s a good thing you married him, otherwise we’d be losing out big ti!”

“Just a few books are enough to win you over, look at you…” Chuxia tapped her finger on Luo Xiaoqiong’s forehead and sighed helplessly, “This life is too boring, you have to find so fun to entertain yourself, how else can you get by?”

Luo Xiaoqiong looked at her speechlessly, “Your life is boring? You get to go ho every day, there’s a big TV waiting at ho, and the captain treats you so well, don’t be ungrateful. By the way, since you’re not visiting relatives today, can you still go to the Capital City tomorrow?”

Chuxia shook her head, “I don’t know…” then sighed, “I had an appointnt in the afternoon, probably won’t make it today.”

“Who did you have an appointnt with?” Luo Xiaoqiong asked casually.

“A woman who really likes Zhou Mikang…” Chuxia shrugged, “She attempted suicide a couple of days ago, if I don’t et her, I’m afraid she’ll try again.”

“If she doesn’t want to live, let her be.” Luo Xiaoqiong glared at Chuxia disapprovingly, “You’re too easygoing, you should’ve told the captain no!”

“Alright, next ti sothing like this happens, I’ll say that.”

“Next ti?” Luo Xiaoqiong kicked her legs out and collapsed onto the bed in mock agony, “No way, I’m going to die of frustration because of you.”

“Have you seen Doudou?” Chuxia asked.

“No, I haven’t.” Luo Xiaoqiong suddenly sat up, “Anyway, since we’re free, why don’t we go visit Doudou and ijun for the New Year?”

Looking at the watch on her wrist, it was only 8:50 in the morning, Chuxia agreed, “Alright, let’s go visit Doudou and ijun, but do you know how to get to their place?”

“Of course, I’ve been there before.” Luo Xiaoqiong said, her expression turning troubled again, “But I always caught a ride with Director Xu, I don’t know how to get there by bus.”

Chuxia’s eyes glead with mischief, “Zhou Mikang’s car is parked outside the office, how about we take his car?”

“Do you think it’s as easy as riding a bicycle?” Luo Xiaoqiong rolled her eyes, “Can you stop daydreaming in broad daylight?”

“I can drive,” Chuxia said seriously, looking at her. “I hitch a ride often and keep an eye on their actions. I think I can do it. Do you dare to sit with ?”

Luo Xiaoqiong quickly jumped out of bed. “If you can drive, I dare to sit, but rember, if things go really south, it’s better to crash and hurt ourselves than hurt others.”

“Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey, why are you saying such things during the New Year?” Chuxia glared at her. “Am I that unreliable? Would I joke about our lives?”

Luo Xiaoqiong pursed her lips and said nothing.

Anyway, she didn’t believe learning to drive was that easy. It had taken her several days to learn to ride a bike. If driving were learned just by watching, why would those in the village sotis drive tractors into ditches by accident?

Luo Xiaoqiong wrote a note for Luo Gangshun and Fat Auntie, then left with Chuxia.

After finding the car keys in Zhou Mikang’s office, Chuxia left a note for Zhou Mikang that read, “Xiaoqiong and I are going to New Year’s greetings to Doudou and ijun, and we took the car.”

“When the captain sees your note, he’ll probably be scared half to death,” Luo Xiaoqiong said at the doorway. “People’s nature is truly hard to change. I thought you had grown up.”

Zhou Mikang knew she could drive, and she believed he wouldn’t worry, but she couldn’t tell Luo Xiaoqiong that. Chuxia just smiled and said, “If you’re scared, it’s not too late to back out. I won’t laugh at you.”

“Who’s scared?” Luo Xiaoqiong glared at her. “If you dare to drive, I dare to sit. Who’s afraid of whom?”

Chuxia patted her, “Just for your courage and trust in , I guarantee that we’ll be best sisters for life.”

“I just feel that if I die, I want to be with you. I definitely won’t run away again.”

Apparently, Luo Xiaoqiong was still bothered by the na change incident. Chuxia comfortingly patted her and said nothing.

Watching Chuxia start the car, accelerate and slowly drive the car out of the base, Luo Xiaoqiong’s eyes nearly popped out… So driving was so easy!

“Let try later, okay?” Luo Xiaoqiong curiously observed Chuxia’s actions. “Four wheels are indeed easier to learn than two!”

Chuxia was speechless but didn’t want to dampen her spirits too much, so she said: “Alright, you can try when we reach an open area. But before that, Zhou Mikang taught once.”

“No worries, with you here, teach ,” Luo Xiaoqiong said eagerly.

Chuxia sighed quietly. If she had known earlier, she wouldn’t have volunteered. Driving wasn’t so easy. It took her nearly two months under the hot sun to get her license back then. If not for learning on a manual jeep back then, she wouldn’t be able to handle this car now.

However, if she denied Luo Xiaoqiong now, Luo Xiaoqiong might think she was looking down on her. With her temper, she might not be friends with her anymore. Oh well, if sothing really happens, it’s fate.

Entering the city would be more unsafe. Chuxia looked around, stepped on the brake, and slowly stopped the car, signaling Luo Xiaoqiong to switch places with her.

“Ah… ouch!” Impatient, Luo Xiaoqiong jumped out without looking and stepped on a rock—twisting her ankle.

Chuxia was speechless as she helped Luo Xiaoqiong into the car, gently moved her ankle, and seeing it swell up quickly, sighed: “Forget it, let’s head back.”

Visiting people limping isn’t polite. Luo Xiaoqiong drooped her head despondently, “Why is this happening during the New Year? It’s too much. If Ning Qinqin sees, she’ll be overjoyed.”

Chuxia glared at her. “At a ti like this, you’re still thinking about what she’ll say. Go back and see Doctor Loo quickly. Recovering as soon as possible is the right thing to do.”

So, they drove back to the courtyard with a roar, first going to the minor injury and trauma clinic to have Doctor Loo help with her ankle, then returned the car to Zhou Mikang’s office.

Just as the car stopped, Zhou Mikang and Zhou Hanliang ca over after their eting. Seeing Lin Chuxia get out from the driver’s seat, Zhou Hanliang’s smile froze instantly. Oh my, what kind of demon did the captain marry…

Turning to look at Zhou Mikang and seeing no change in his expression, Zhou Hanliang wiped non-existent cold sweat from his forehead. Oh my, is he too unstable, or are the demon and demon matched?

“What’s with that look?” Zhou Mikang glared at him, quickening his pace toward Chuxia, pointing to Luo Xiaoqiong. “What happened to her?”

“She accidentally twisted her ankle.” Chuxia straightforwardly helped Luo Xiaoqiong into the car. “Drive us to the guesthouse so she can walk less and recover faster.”

“Sister-in-law, when did you learn to drive?”

Chuxia glanced at Zhou Hanliang and boasted shalessly: “Just from hitching rides often and watching a lot. Zhou Mikang took for a trial run one ti and I learned. Of course, I’m not driving very well, just so-so.” (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian (qidian) to vote for it with recomndations and monthly tickets.
