On New Year’s Day, Gu Yi’s class was scheduled to perform later on.

Their classmates saw they had a long ti before their performance, so they all ran out to watch others perform.

After watching for a while, they found out it was just as Xie Qingyi had said.

Many classes were singing and dancing.

There were also a few classes with instruntal solos.

The school leaders looked a bit tired after watching several performances.

In the middle, a skit by two chubby kids was actually pretty good.

While they were performing on stage, a bunch of people in the audience were cheering along, and the atmosphere was quite lively.

Once they left the stage, the audience quietly watched the following acts.

Finally, it was Gu Yi’s class’s turn.

They lined up in formation.

The speech began, and it was well-written.

The person delivering the speech did so with great passion.

When the prelude of the "Yellow River Chorus" started playing,

everyone felt invigorated.

Unconsciously, they began singing along with Gu Yi and the others.

Perhaps it was because of Gu Yi and their impressive aura, they ended up winning first place as a team.

The duo who perford the cody skit took second place.

Not long after New Year’s, Gu Yi and the others had to start preparing for their final exams and the upcoming break.

In the two days before the holiday, Gu Yi didn’t go to Ye Hao’s place.

Instead, she stayed in B City.

The business at both Jingying stores was pretty good during New Year’s.

With the New Year approaching, the stores were getting busy again.

Li Yitian asked Gu Yi to prepare more outfits so that when it was ti to display them, there would be more options.

With Jingying’s business improving, if they continued ordering the season’s stock directly from the factory as before, there would often be shortages.

The store space was limited, and the factory also didn’t want them to hold too much inventory, so even though they anticipated heavy foot traffic, it was still challenging to order more stock.

Gu Yi and Li Yitian discussed renting a warehouse to order more stock at once and store it there.

Whenever a store ran out, they could retrieve it from the warehouse.

For the past two days, Gu Yi focused on displaying samples in the warehouse.

After preparing all the samples, Gu Yi couldn’t feel at ease and head straight to the regint.

She also visited both stores.

At the first store, since Li Yitian was frequently there, the staff managent was relatively smooth.

But at the second store, things were a bit chaotic.

Since Gu Yi had initially set a base salary plus sales commission system,

there were frequent incidents of staff fighting over custors, and their interpersonal relationships were diocre.

Moreover, everyone was only concerned with business; tasks like cleaning and organizing were left undone.

After noticing this issue, Gu Yi went to find Li Yitian.

"I think this is great; just look, the sales figures for the second store are much better than those of the first."

Li Yitian didn’t see it as an issue; he believed competition among staff could boost store success, so why stop it?

"Healthy competition is good, but what’s happening now isn’t like that. If it continues, there might be a day they physically fight over custors, which will tarnish our reputation with custors and eventually impact sales, leading to a decline."

Gu Yi shared the seriousness of the issue with Li Yitian.

After a mont of silence, Li Yitian felt Gu Yi made a valid point.

He knew of the second store’s situation but had never thought about changing anything.

If what Gu Yi predicted were to happen soon, not only would the second store’s business suffer, but the first store would also be affected.

"So what do you suggest?"

He wanted to hear Gu Yi’s opinion now.

"I think we should enhance the authority of the store manager, Xiao Yang. When we’re not around, she should be the one in full control. If soone disobeys, they should be directly penalized. Everyone should share the whole-store sales commission, with the manager receiving a 3% cut and the staff 2%. We can also set a few sales target goals. Depending on how much of the target the store completes, they can earn corresponding bonuses, which can be split among all the store employees or used for als. The point is to give them free rein."

Gu Yi shared so modern managent practices she thought would suit the store’s developnt with Li Yitian.

"But with increased authority, won’t the manager bully the staff?"

Although Li Yitian found Gu Yi’s approach feasible, he anticipated new issues might arise when implented.

"Every month, we could conduct a democratic evaluation, allowing staff to give feedback and suggestions on the manager. While implenting this, we might encounter various issues, but we’ll tackle them one by one. What do you think?"

Perhaps because Gu Yi wanted Jingying to flourish, she didn’t want anyone disrupting its future developnt.

"Alright, let’s go with your plan."

Li Yitian had no objections, as they both aid for Jingying’s success.

"This afternoon, let’s head to the second store together and hold a eting to discuss this with everyone. Then, we’ll have them re-sign their employnt agreents."

Gu Yi believed in resolving the issue swiftly before it worsened.

"Alright, I’ll ask my friend to prepare a few copies. Should the first store follow the current model or switch to your proposed one?"

Li Yitian felt Gu Yi’s plan seed more logical.

"Let’s unify the approach since you’re the boss of both stores. Different models could lead to psychological imbalances."

Gu Yi believed a standardized managent approach would be easier for them, and employees wouldn’t harbor other thoughts.

"Alright, let’s make it uniform; I’ll also have the first store’s employees resign their agreents."

That afternoon, Gu Yi and Li Yitian went to the second store to gather everyone for a short eting.

Li Yitian directly pointed out their issues and introduced the new pay sche.

Although so of them were dissatisfied with each other, upon hearing Li Yitian’s new plan,

they felt it was better than the current model, and the pay was slightly higher; it just required them to work more collaboratively.

After signing the new agreents, Li Yitian left with them.

Gu Yi stayed until closing ti.

While change couldn’t happen overnight, at least things were moving in a positive direction.

Even though Gu Yi proposed the new plan, if the attitudes of the few people in the second store didn’t change,

she would still consider recruiting a new batch, even if it ant a bit more hassle; they could train from the ground up.

After all, she was on break with plenty of ti.

Everyone was changing, so more significantly than others.

Gu Yi decided to observe for a while longer.

That evening, she called Ye Hao.

She told him about the store situation. Though Ye Hao wished Gu Yi could visit his regint,

he understood her dedication to doing a good job.

"Just focus on staying there; after all, it’s your passion project, I get it."

Though Ye Hao didn’t offer any sweet words, his remark brought tears to Gu Yi’s eyes.

It’s easy to find soone who likes you, but finding soone who understands you is truly rare.

After hanging up, Gu Yi realized how pampered she was becoming by Ye Hao.

Just a little thing, yet she was moved to tears.
