"Is there sothing wrong with that Wu Liang?"
Ye Hao asked while holding Gu Yi.
"Why would you ask that?"
Gu Yi was a bit shocked when she heard Ye Hao’s words.
"You’ve been fine all along, but as soon as you saw him, you felt uncomfortable. You didn’t even respond when he spoke. In my mory, you’ve never acted like this before."
Ye Hao explained what he observed.
"Ye Hao, can you put down first?"
"It’s okay, I’ll hold you. Aren’t you feeling unwell?"
Ye Hao didn’t intend to let go, and directly carried Gu Yi ho.
Ye’s mother was startled when she saw Gu Yi being carried in by Ye Hao and quickly stepped forward to ask.
"Yiyi, what happened? Did you fall?"
"Mom, no, don’t worry. Yiyi just feels a bit unwell, she’ll be fine after a break. We’ll go back to our room first."
Ye’s mother asked, and Gu Yi was so embarrassed she couldn’t make eye contact with Ye’s mother, so she buried her head in Ye Hao’s chest.
Ye Hao looked at the furry little head on his chest, shook his head, and briefly explained to Ye’s mother.
"Then quickly go back to your room, I’ll bring so hot water."
Ye’s mother hurriedly poured a cup of water and brought it to their room.
"Mom, I’m fine, don’t worry."
Gu Yi took the cup of water and said shyly.
"Glad to hear. Did the trip tire you out? Have you not rested well? You should sleep a bit more."
Upon hearing that Gu Yi was unwell, Ye’s mother briefly wondered if she might be pregnant, but she quickly dismissed the thought.
If she were actually pregnant, neither of them would keep silent; they both knew how eager the family was.
"Okay, thank you, Mom."
Seeing that Gu Yi looked fine now, Ye’s mother figured there wasn’t much to worry about and left the room.
It was just Ye Hao and Gu Yi left in the room.
"Ye Hao, did mom imply at lunch that she’s trying to matchmake Ye Qian and Wu Liang?"
Gu Yi sat on the bed and patted the edge for Ye Hao to sit down as well.
"Yes."
"So what did you think of Wu Liang just now?"
"He seems diligent, but maybe because he’s poor, he seems a bit insecure, though he’s trying hard to hide it."
Gu Yi thought Ye Hao was really impressive.
In her past life, when Ye Qian got married, Ye Hao didn’t have leave, so he didn’t co back. When he did co back and saw Wu Liang.
He said the sa thing then.
If Ye Hao had seen Wu Liang before Ye Qian’s wedding, they might not have gotten married.
This ti, in short order, Ye Hao had already seen through Wu Liang’s issues.
But Gu Yi was still afraid Ye Qian might walk the sa path as in the past life, so she had to find an ally first.
"Ye Hao, do you trust ?"
Gu Yi suddenly asked Ye Hao very seriously.
"Of course I trust you. You’re my wife. If I can’t trust you, who can I trust?"
Ye Hao also looked into Gu Yi’s eyes and answered seriously.
"I once had a dream where I saw Ye Qian together with Wu Liang."
Gu Yi had to describe her past life’s experiences as a dream but didn’t know how much Ye Hao would believe.
"Was the outco bad?"
Although Ye Hao found Gu Yi’s words a bit absurd, seeing her serious deanor, and considering that it concerned his sister’s lifeti happiness.
Ye Hao felt that he should believe it to be true.
"Yes, it was very bad. Wu Liang himself is very insecure, like you said, he’s trying hard to hide it, so he becos extrely domineering. He wants Qianqian to stay at ho for housework, but you know Qianqian’s nature; she can’t stand staying ho. Besides, Wu Liang’s family is quite poor, so they often argued about money."
Gu Yi stopped to observe Ye Hao’s reaction after recounting this.
"Go on."
Although Ye Hao found Gu Yi’s dream a bit too real, he still wanted to know what their final outco was.
"Wu Liang’s parents weren’t as kind as Mom and Dad. Every ti the couple argued, they would help Wu Liang bully Qianqian. When Qianqian was five months pregnant, during a tussle, Wu Liang pushed Qianqian down, and she miscarried. Because of this, they got divorced, and Qianqian remained alone afterward."
Ye Hao, a grown man, was a bit rueful upon hearing this.
Regardless of whether Gu Yi dread of this or not, Ye Hao would not let this happen again.
"No wonder you reacted the way you did when you saw Wu Liang."
Ye Hao said softly.
"Ye Hao, do you think what I told you is far-fetched?"
Gu Yi didn’t dare tell Ye Hao that she was reborn, fearing he’d think it was so mystical, improbable event.
So she used the dream as her excuse to tell him, but worried he might overthink it.
"Maybe it’s heaven’s way of asking you to help Qianqian avoid this disaster. You rest well, don’t overthink it, leave this to ."
Although Ye Hao couldn’t understand why Gu Yi would dream of it, nor why it seed so real, as if she lived through it herself.
He trusted that Gu Yi’s intention in telling him was to prevent any potential harm to Qianqian in the near future.
He helped Gu Yi lie down, covered her with the blanket, and gently patted her.
It wasn’t clear whether it was the residual tiredness from the trip, or that she finally found soone to share such an important matter weighing on her heart.
Gu Yi fell asleep soon.
Ye Hao carefully tucked in her blanket, then left the room.
"Mom, how did Wu Liang end up working at the store?"
Ye Hao asked Ye’s mother as soon as he ca out.
"It was a while back, one morning when we opened the store, he was leaning against the door. Later we asked, and he said soone had stolen all his money while he was transferring buses here in the county, and since his family is poor, he thought he’d bring so money back ho for a good New Year. He was too embarrassed to return empty-handed, so he wanted to find a job to do, make a bit of money before the New Year. We felt sorry for him, and since the store’s been really busy, we let him help out."
"How do you know he was telling the truth?"
"He went ho once in between, and his sister ca over once as well, so it shouldn’t be a lie."
Ye Hao listened to what Ye’s mother said, and combined with Gu Yi’s dream, felt that eting Ye Qian probably wasn’t preditated on Wu Liang’s part, but his family was a bit too easy to trust others.
"He’s very diligent in the store, does all sorts of work, it’s just that his family is poor, but there are no perfect people in this world. Also, I see Qianqian is quite satisfied with him, so your father and I have already agreed that if things don’t work out, they’ll still stay with us."
Ye’s mother had already planned everything for the future. Since Ye Hao and his wife can’t be around.
Having the daughter and son-in-law nearby wasn’t bad.
"Mom, both Yiyi and I are against this. We just went and checked, the young guy is diligent alright, but extrely domineering, not suitable for Qianqian."
Ye Hao directly expressed his viewpoint clearly.
"What do you an domineering? I think he’s quite good!"
Ye’s mother believed she had enough life experience to judge people well.
"He’s just hiding it now, the fish hasn’t taken the bait yet, so of course he’s behaving well. Your son has been in the army for so many years, and I’ve seen all sorts of people, trust and observe for yourself."
Perhaps influenced by Gu Yi’s words, the more Ye’s mother defended Wu Liang, the more Ye Hao felt there was sothing wrong.
