Gu Yiyi agreed, and Wu Chuni and Fang Hong left first.
Only Ye Honglian and Gu Yi remained.
"Yiyi, do you know who started spreading those rumors?"
Ye Honglian looked at Gu Yi and asked.
"I guess it was probably Li Dongxiang who started it, right?"
Ye Honglian knew about the issues between Gu Yi and Li Dongxiang, so Gu Yi just expressed her thoughts directly.
"We also guessed it was her, but this ti she seems smarter, never saying anything in front of people, so right now it can’t be proven that she said it."
Ye Honglian asked several people, and everyone said they heard it from others, but no one said they heard it from Li Dongxiang. She found this quite strange.
"She probably learned from her last mistake and changed her thods now."
Gu Yi thought this was quite normal, after all, learning from experience and gaining wisdom.
"Do you have any way to solve this matter? It’s getting more and more ridiculous, and soon you won’t be able to hold your head up."
Ye Honglian was genuinely worried, since Ye Hao was out on a mission again.
If he ca back and heard these rumors, who knows what might happen.
"I don’t have any ideas at the mont, but don’t worry, Sister-in-law, I’ll find a way to get this sorted out as soon as possible."
That Ye Honglian could talk to her about this made Gu Yi feel very grateful.
But just like Ye Honglian said, she needed to solve it quickly.
She had so ideas, but before implenting them, she needed to think it through carefully at ho.
"If you need any help, you can go find Li Camp Commander. He gets along well with Ye Hao, and he even ca to about this matter."
Ye Honglian thought that with the rumors spreading so wildly, it might be a bit difficult for Gu Yi to handle it alone. She rembered Li Yifan coming to her before, telling her to keep an eye on this issue.
"Okay, thank you, Sister-in-law."
"No need for thanks. Don’t know if those people are blind or what, how co they can’t see how good you are."
Ye Honglian felt she couldn’t help much and was anxious, angry at those who spread rumors without knowing the truth.
"Maybe it’s because I don’t interact with them much normally. It’s fine, there will always be a way to resolve it."
They chatted for a while more, and Ye Honglian noticed it was ti to pick up the children.
Gu Yi also said she had to help Wu Chuni, so they left together.
Ye Honglian went straight to the kindergarten.
Gu Yi didn’t go to Wu Chuni’s imdiately but went ho first.
She took so cured at and pickled fish from ho before heading to Wu Chuni’s.
"You ca, and you brought things along. I just received your apples, you’re really sothing."
As soon as Wu Chuni opened the door and saw Gu Yi carrying things, she started to scold.
"Okay, Sister-in-law, I just brought it over to add to the dishes."
Gu Yi swayed the items in front of Wu Chuni, smiling as she spoke.
"I asked you to co for dinner, not to bring food."
Wu Chuni looked at Gu Yi’s obedient appearance, then laughed and sighed.
"Alright, alright, let’s not talk about it. You are just too polite with us, co on in."
"Okay, let help out."
Gu Yi quickly said.
"It’s just us tonight; there’s not much to help with. Just sit for a bit."
Wu Chuni worked swiftly, and since it was only a few of them tonight, there wasn’t too much preparation needed, so she just let Gu Yi rest.
"Then I’ll stand by and learn sothing."
As a guest, how could one just sit and wait for food?
"With your culinary skills, you don’t need to learn from . Just keep company and chat."
Wu Chuni laughed as she listened to Gu Yi’s words.
Even though there weren’t many people, Wu Chuni prepared six or seven dishes.
Gu Yi helped with washing and cutting on the side.
Soon, soone was knocking on the door from outside.
Wu Chuni hurried to open the door, while Gu Yi continued to wash the vegetables in the kitchen.
Not long after, Wu Chuni returned with Fang Hong.
"Sister-in-law Gu, washing vegetables, eh?"
Seeing Gu Yi, Fang Hong greeted her and went over to help wash vegetables.
"I had you co for dinner, and you’re all pitching in to work."
Wu Chuni said with a laugh.
Not long after, Ye Honglian also returned with Qiangqiang and Nuonuo.
The few of them worked quickly, and soon all the dishes were on the table.
Wu Chuni saved a little from each dish into a big bowl.
When the rice was ready, she served a good portion of it.
"Fang Hong, take this to your Jianjun."
Wu Chuni called out to Fang Hong, handing her the al.
"Sister-in-law, this is way too much, you worked so hard cooking all afternoon, and it’s all for him to eat."
Fang Hong looked at the al Wu Chuni handed over; it was packed in a big bowl, heaping over the brim.
"Not at all, I cooked extra for each dish. Go back and explain to Jianjun that today is our won’s gathering, and he’s not invited."
Wu Chuni thought it necessary to explain that the couples were eating separately.
"Alright, you cooked so much good food for him. He actually wants that; he’s always saying at ho that I cook unappetizingly and that I should learn from you sisters."
What Fang Hong said praised everyone there.
"Alright, go quickly, so we can start. Just the sll is making hungry."
Ye Honglian saw they were still leisurely chatting and urged.
"Okay, I’ll be right back."
Fang Hong rushed back with the bowl.
While Fang Hong delivered the al, Wu Chuni and Ye Honglian served so food for Qiangqiang and Nuonuo first.
When Fang Hong returned, the won started eating too.
"Today is our ladies’ night; how about we drink a little?"
Wu Chuni thought just eating wasn’t much fun.
Since there were no n around, they could enjoy themselves freely.
"Sure, do you have any liquor at ho? If not, I’ll go get so from mine."
Ye Honglian liked Wu Chuni’s suggestion and quickly agreed.
"I have so; hold on."
Wu Chuni really went to get a bottle of liquor and opened it.
She poured a little for everyone.
Gu Yi looked at the liquor in front of her, thinking it was the first ti she drank since her rebirth.
The atmosphere was good today, and everyone was in high spirits.
Since Wu Chuni and Ye Honglian needed to take care of their children, they didn’t drink much.
But even so, Gu Yi felt a bit dizzy.
During dinner, to keep things lighthearted, they intentionally didn’t bring up any unpleasant topics.
So she was feeling quite good; despite the rumors, she didn’t feel it was a big deal at the mont.
After they finished eating and left Wu Chuni’s house.
The cold air outside sobered Gu Yi instantly.
"Yiyi, should we walk you back ho?"
Since Gu Yi lived a bit farther, Ye Honglian suggested when they stepped out.
"No need, Sister-in-law, take Qiangqiang back ho to sleep, he looks sleepy."
Qiangqiang was leaning on Ye Honglian’s shoulder; Gu Yi patted his back and declined.
Being in the army, there’s nothing to worry about, and after having a bit of alcohol, the cold breeze feels quite refreshing.
She might as well stroll back slowly.
