"This requires you family mbers to have enough patience, spend more ti with him, take him out for walks, especially to places where you used to have good mories, so that he can recall past events."

Actually, the doctor hadn’t encountered a similar situation before, but he had heard his teacher speak of it.

"Thank you, doctor, I know what to do now."

After thanking the doctor, Gu Yi and Ye Qian left the doctor’s office.

Ever since hearing the doctor’s words, Gu Yi regretted her impulsiveness.

Ye Hao had just returned from the brink of death, and she had yelled at him and ignored him.

"Sister-in-law, it seems brother didn’t do it on purpose, so don’t be mad at him, okay?"

Ye Qian quietly felt a sense of relief upon hearing the doctor say her brother might be experiencing mory confusion.

"I understand, don’t worry. I’m going to see if I can buy so soup. Are you coming with ?"

Gu Yi also smiled at Ye Qian.

The doctor said Ye Hao could drink so soup now, and since they were already out, they decided to buy so directly, saving a trip later.

"I’ll go with you."

After they bought rib soup and returned, Li Yifan was still in the ward.

Gu Yi smiled at Li Yifan and then turned to smile at Ye Hao.

Ye Hao saw Gu Yi smile at him and quickly turned his head away, avoiding her gaze.

Yet he felt inexplicably relieved inside.

"Have so water. Would rib soup for lunch be okay?"

Gu Yi handed the water cup to Ye Hao, smiling as she spoke.

Although he didn’t know why Gu Yi’s attitude had a full 180-degree turn after going out, Ye Hao felt much more comfortable inside.

He silently took the water cup, drank the water, and handed it back to Gu Yi.

"Ye Hao, rest assured and recover well here. Gu Yi, it’s going to be tough on you, but I have to return to the unit. I’ll co back when I have ti."

Li Yifan looked at Ye Hao and Gu Yi with so amusent in his heart. It truly affird the saying: not enemies don’t et here.

He got up and bid them farewell.

"It’s not tough, it’s expected. Take care."

Gu Yi stood beside Ye Hao, smiling as she spoke.

After Li Yifan left, Gu Yi held a bowl and ladled so rib soup for Ye Hao.

"It’s quite hot, drink it slowly."

Gu Yi blew on the soup while passing it to Ye Hao.

Ye Hao took the bowl, mumbled a response, and didn’t say anything else.

Although Gu Yi listened to the doctor’s words and understood it wasn’t Ye Hao’s fault, she still felt sad inside.

Why was it that mories about other people were correct, but hers and Yang Lin’s got mixed up?

"Brother, sister-in-law, I’m going to check on mom and dad."

Ye Qian noticed her brother and sister-in-law were no longer at each other’s throats like they were in the morning. She knew her sister-in-law had taken the doctor’s words to heart.

She found an excuse to leave the room, allowing space for the two of them.

"Ye Hao..."

Gu Yi was just about to say sothing to Ye Hao when the door was pushed open.

"Ye Hao, have you had lunch yet? I had my mom stew a chicken and just brought it over for you to try. The soup in your hand is store-bought, right? Don’t drink it."

Yang Lin ignored Gu Yi sitting beside and spoke to Ye Hao, then took the bowl, ladled so chicken soup, and gave it to Ye Hao, while taking away the rib soup in his hand.

"Okay."

Ye Hao had no objections and followed Yang Lin’s lead.

Gu Yi didn’t say a word from start to finish, just quietly sat on a chair watching Ye Hao.

Ye Hao habitually glanced at her.

"Would you like to try so? It’s quite tasty."

"Sure, since you say so, I’m curious to try so. Could you trouble Doctor Yang to get a bowl as well?"

Gu Yi remained seated, smiling gently at Ye Hao, then turned to Yang Lin.

Yang Lin, wanting to make a good impression in front of Ye Hao, restrained her anger and served Gu Yi a bowl.

"It really is quite good. It seems Auntie’s cooking skills are excellent. We’re not able to cook these at the hospital. How about while Ye Hao is in the hospital, we trouble Auntie to stew so soup daily? I’ll pay you later. I think pigeon soup would be good tomorrow, nutritious and easily absorbed, perfect for Ye Hao now."

Gu Yi tasted the soup and nodded repeatedly, deliberately praising Yang Lin’s mom to the skies.

Yang Lin was about to feel pleased, but then Gu Yi suggested her mom be a cook, even offering to pay.

Yet in front of Ye Hao, she couldn’t directly counter Gu Yi and refuse to stew the soup, fearing Ye Hao might overthink.

Besides, did their family lack money to take her offer seriously?

"I’d be more than happy to stew soup for Ye Hao, and I don’t want your money. Save it, in case soone asks you for money, and you can’t produce it—that wouldn’t be embarrassing enough."

Yang Lin finished and intentionally threw Gu Yi a particularly ambiguous smile.

Gu Yi felt a bit strange listening. Who would ask her for money?

But after Ye Hao heard it, his previously calm expression began to stiffen sowhat.

Gu Yi felt the room’s temperature drop several degrees.

She disliked this feeling very much, unsure of Yang Lin’s insinuation, but Ye Hao understood.

It felt like they shared a secret, with her cast as its central character.

Yang Lin, having achieved her goal, found an excuse to leave.

Before exiting, she gave Gu Yi a dismissive glance.

"I’m done eating, I’ll rest for a bit. You handle your matters, don’t mind ."

Gu Yi noticed the expressionless look on Ye Hao’s face.

Alright, just as things started to warm, they reverted back.

The next morning, Li Yitian brought Wang Yuan to the hospital.

In the corridor, they ran into Gu Yi.

"Sister Yi Yi, are you okay?"

Wang Yuan quickly ran up to inquire upon seeing Gu Yi.

"Why are you at the hospital? Don’t you have class today? I haven’t gone these past few days and forgot to request leave."

Seeing Wang Yuan, Gu Yi rembered she hadn’t inford the school about her leave.

"Don’t worry, soone from the unit called the school to explain. I’ve been at Jingying for days to track Boss Li, notified my mom, and asked him to bring to see you."

Initially, Wang Yuanyi knew Gu Yi had taken leave due to a family mber in the hospital, but she wasn’t sure exactly where Gu Yi was.

Guessing that Li Yitian knew, she tried to catch him at Jingying as soon as she finished classes.

Finally, her patience paid off today.

"A call from the unit?"

Gu Yi thought it was probably Li Yifan who made the call.

"Yeah, I heard on the way here. How is the head doing now?"

On the way, she’d already heard from Li Yitian and guessed it hadn’t been easy for Gu Yi these days.

"He’s better now. Let take you inside to see him."

Ye Hao had a good deanor towards Wang Yuan, but his expression hardened upon spotting Li Yitian.

"Brother Ye Hao, how do you feel?"

Upon Li Yitian’s inquiry, Ye Hao simply responded with an ’okay’, evidently unwilling to further the conversation.

Li Yitian felt inexplicably offput.

Wang Yuan sensed the atmosphere was too awkward, so she soon ntioned returning to school.

Gu Yi escorted the pair to the door.

"What’s with Brother Ye Hao? Just now, his look seed like he wanted to eat alive."

Li Yitian recalled Ye Hao’s earlier gaze, his heartbeat accelerated dramatically.
