Now reading: Chapter 235 Past Life from Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance, a Romance novel by March's Cuckoo.

Gu Yi suddenly didn’t know where she was.

She carefully examined her surroundings.

Wasn’t this her ho in B City from her previous life?

All of a sudden, it felt like she had returned to her past life.

Could it be that the event with Ye Hao after her rebirth was just another dream?

Is she waking up from a dream now?

Gu Yi had many questions.

On the table was a bunch of chrysanthemums and so offerings.

But why was there no one in the living room?

She looked at the obituary photo hanging on the wall.

Was this after her death?

But why could she still move around the house?

Just as she was pondering the reason, voices ca from her old room.

She approached slowly, trying to open the door with her hand.

But her hand couldn’t touch the door.

Her hand stretched forward, passing through the door.

Gu Yi looked at her hand, thinking it was probably not her body, just her lingering consciousness.

Understanding this, she passed straight through the door into the room.

She saw her daughter Huanhuan talking to Ye Hao.

Huanhuan seed the sa as in her mories.

But Ye Hao seed to have aged a lot.

Has it been many years since she left?

"Dad, let’s go, I’ve prepared everything, Zhao Yi said he’ll be downstairs any mont."

Only then did Gu Yi hear clearly; it seed they were going sowhere.

"Let’s go, don’t make your mom wait. Although she never said it, I know she hates waiting for the most."

When Ye Hao said this, Gu Yi was taken aback.

So, Ye Hao knew after all.

Gu Yi watched as Huanhuan carried their things and helped Ye Hao downstairs.

For so reason, Gu Yi also found herself in the passenger seat of Zhao Yi’s car.

She turned her head to look at Zhao Yi, who was focused on driving.

Then turned around to look at Huanhuan and Ye Hao in the back seat.

"Zhao Yi, take a detour to that chestnut shop in the West District later."

Ye Hao suddenly said to Zhao Yi.

"Dad, why go there? Didn’t you say not to keep mom waiting?"

Huanhuan imdiately questioned, as Ye Hao had just ntioned her mom hates waiting.

Why go all that way just to buy chestnuts?

"It’s fine, with sugar-roasted chestnuts, your mom won’t be angry."

Ye Hao smiled at Huanhuan, then silently gazed out the window.

He seed to be reminiscing about sothing.

Speaking of sugar-roasted chestnuts, she indeed rembered when she first ca to B City.

Once Ye Hao took her to the city during his leave, passing that chestnut shop.

She slled the aroma, and Ye Hao probably saw her craving and bought her a bag.

After eating them, she found them fragrant and sweet, soft and delicious.

She instantly fell in love with them.

But at that ti, conditions were modest, and although she liked them, she didn’t buy them often.

Later, when conditions improved, she’d occasionally go there to buy so to kill ti.

Once she was eating at ho when Ye Hao ca back and saw her.

Made her feel quite embarrassed.

But after that, each ti Ye Hao ca ho, he’d bring back a bag.

Ye Hao would have to get off a stop early to buy those sugar-roasted chestnuts and then walk back ho.

Once, during a heavy rain, he got drenched to buy chestnuts.

While Gu Yi was thinking about these things, they had arrived at the chestnut shop.

Huanhuan said she’d go buy them, telling Ye Hao to wait in the car.

"I’ll go. If I’m in the car, your mom will definitely grumble that I wouldn’t even do such a small thing for her."

Ye Hao said this and got out of the car.

"I don’t understand my dad anymore. He never said anything about doing things for mom when she was alive. Even though mom never complained about dad in front of , I could tell she wasn’t truly happy."

Huanhuan said to Zhao Yi in the driver’s seat.

"It’s alright. I think dad just misses mom, let him do as he pleases."

Zhao Yi had also heard from Huanhuan that when she was little, Ye Hao was rarely ho, and it was mostly just her and her mom.

And even when her dad was ho, they communicated very little.

"Zhao Yi, I want to move back and spend so ti with my dad. I always feel sothing’s off about him. I never saw him care much for my mom, but lately, I start to wonder if he loved her more than anything. I’m a little worried."

Huanhuan couldn’t understand her dad. If he had acted this way when her mom was alive, they would have been so loving together.

"Alright, take care of yourself too. You’ve lost a lot of weight lately. I know you’re sad, but the dead cannot return."

Zhao Yi agreed readily.

"I know, but sotis it feels so unreal. I always feel like mom is still at ho waiting for . No matter when I open the door, she’s always there."

Ye Huan spoke with a choke in her voice.

Zhao Yi turned around and, without saying anything, reached over to pat her head.

After a while, Ye Hao got back in the car with the chestnuts.

He held them carefully the whole way, as if they were treasures instead of just ordinary sugar-roasted chestnuts.

At the cetery, Gu Yi followed them out of the car.

Ye Huan placed flowers and offerings at her grave.

They both knelt down and kowtowed in front of her.

Huanhuan couldn’t help but cry.

Listening to her cries, Gu Yi wept along with her.

Eversince having Huanhuan, it was just the two of them relying on each other, her sudden departure being so abrupt.

The one thing she couldn’t let go of was her daughter, Huanhuan.

After a long ti, Huanhuan’s emotions gradually cald down.

Although she continued to sniffle even after crying.

Zhao Yi helped her up and moved her to the side.

"Zhao Yi, take Huanhuan to the car to wait, I want to talk to your mom."

Ye Hao suddenly told Zhao Yi.

"Dad, let’s just wait here for you."

Ye Huan quickly said.

Ye Hao waved them off.

Ye Huan was about to say sothing further.

"Give Dad so ti alone, we’ll wait in the car."

Zhao Yi quickly cut Ye Huan off and led her down the hill.

Gu Yi wanted to hear what Ye Hao would say to her too.

So she stood by watching him.

She saw Ye Hao sit down next to her tombstone.

He placed the sugar-roasted chestnuts on the ground, taking one out and peeling it.

"Gu Yi, I bought your favorite sugar-roasted chestnuts. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I ever peeled them for you while you were alive."

Ye Hao paused for a mont after saying this.

Listening to these words, Gu Yi felt a pang in her heart.

She stepped forward a few steps, sitting on the other side of the tombstone, watching Ye Hao peel the chestnuts.

"Although you never said it to , I know you always thought I liked Yang Lin. You thought I married you because of my parents. I admit, at first, I felt you were my responsibility, but later, when I realized you were more than a responsibility, our interaction pattern seed set. Maybe I’m inherently bad with words, so I never explained about Yang Lin, but I was afraid you’d misunderstand, so I stayed away from her. I hoped you’d see my heart through my actions."

Ye Hao placed the peeled chestnut in front of Gu Yi’s photo.

Sitting on the side, tears flowed down Gu Yi’s face.
