The next day, Gu Yi and Ye Hao left together.
Ye Hao went to the office, while Gu Yi left the base to go to the small supply store.
She wanted to make a phone call ho.
Initially, Ye Hao suggested she call from the base, but she felt it might not be a good influence on him, so she preferred to spend so money and feel more assured.
She first called the Gu Family, and it was Gu’s father who answered, saying Gu’s mother had gone out to buy groceries.
Gu Yi asked about the health of the two elders and her brother’s business.
Gu’s father said everything was fine and advised Gu Yi to take care of herself and get along well with Ye Hao, without quarreling.
Listening to Gu’s father rambling on the other end, Gu Yi felt her eyes getting a bit red.
Gu Yi feared that if Gu’s father continued, she would start crying.
"Dad, I understand, you and Mom take good care at ho. I’m currently at Ye Hao’s base, I’ll call again in a few days. I’m about to go grocery shopping myself."
"Alright, carry on with your plans. I’ll let your mom know when she gets back."
After hanging up, Gu Yi took a while to compose herself before calling the Ye Family.
Ye’s mother answered, and it was clear she was pleased to hear from Gu Yi.
"Everything’s fine, except for that Ye Qian girl. People have introduced quite a few prospects to her, but she hasn’t taken to any of them. I don’t know what kind of person she wants to marry!"
Ye’s mother spoke with a bit of annoyance.
"No worries, Mom. It’s probably just that Qianqian hasn’t t the right one yet, don’t stress too much."
Gu Yi comforted her.
"Yeah, no point in rushing. You and Hao Hao better give a grandchild soon, then I’ll stop worrying about her."
As soon as Gu Yi heard this, she knew the conversation had shifted back to her.
"Okay, Mom, there’s sothing I wanted to discuss with you?"
"What is it?"
"I plan to study for two years. Ye Hao and I talked it over, and we decided to have a baby a little later, not too long though. We plan to start trying in the last sester of my studies, so we’d have the baby by the ti I graduate."
After Gu Yi explained, there was a long silence from Ye’s mother.
"Mom?"
"Alright, you handle your own matters. Just take care of yourself over there, and be well with Hao Hao."
Ye’s mother sounded quite disappointed; she had thought that with Gu Yi over, the couple would surely soon have a child.
Now Gu Yi was talking about going back to school, and who knew when she’d have her first grandchild.
But she couldn’t press Gu Yi because of this, after all, Gu Yi had said they weren’t delaying it for too long.
She decided to focus her energy on Ye Qian for now, hoping to get her married off soon.
After chatting with Ye’s mother for a bit more, Gu Yi hung up the phone.
After hanging up, Gu Yi exhaled deeply.
Gu Yi had been staying at the base for over ten days, connecting with the outside via phone calls.
Wang Yuan called Gu Yi to say she was back, quite suntanned, and had brought gifts insisting that Gu Yi co visit her when she had the ti.
Li Yitian inford Gu Yi that the Jingying First Store’s new signage was installed, and the first batch of sample clothes was already on display.
The Jingying Second Store was almost done with renovations, waiting for Gu Yi to drop by to give so opinions when she had a chance.
Gu Yi and Li Yitian couldn’t decide on a na for the shop, so they settled on keeping it all under the Jingying na.
They just differentiated them as the first and second stores for now, planning to number them sequentially for future shops.
Gu Yi felt that the past ten days had been the happiest since her rebirth.
Waking naturally every day, cooking for Ye Hao, and then they’d cozy up to chat about anything and everything.
Life was simple and happy.
Gu Yi stayed at the base for another ten days until the Jingying Second Store’s renovation was complete, and it was almost ti for her to start school.
"Ye Hao, I’m going to the city tomorrow. Yitian said the shop’s renovations are done and it’s about to open, so I’m going to help out. I won’t be back for a while."
Ye Hao had the day off the next day, and during dinner, Gu Yi discussed this with him.
"Sure, I’ll take you tomorrow. It’s my day off, so I can help out. Is there anything you need assistance with?"
Ye Hao said while eating.
"Great, the shop likely doesn’t need much help, but the house near the school has been empty for a while, it’s probably covered in dust. You could help clean it up."
Gu Yi had already planned so tasks for Ye Hao the next day.
"Sure, I’ll make it spotless."
"Then I’ll be waiting to see your performance."
Gu Yi said, and they exchanged smiles.
Early the next morning, the two got up and took a car to the city.
They arrived at the Art College a little after 7 a.m. Gu Yi had arranged to et Li Yitian at the second store at 8:30 a.m.
Since it was still early, Gu Yi and Ye Hao went to the food street for breakfast.
Before going ho, Gu Yi made sure to take Ye Hao to the second store, pointing out the storefront to him.
"This is going to be ours. Not bad, right? I’ll be over later, co find after you’re done cleaning."
"Will business be okay here? There doesn’t seem to be many stores around?"
Ye Hao observed the surroundings, noticing that although clean, few stores were open.
Could business thrive here?
"The school term hasn’t started yet, so it’s not very busy. Once it does, it should get more lively. Plus, it’s a weekday, so more people will be around on the weekend."
Gu Yi explained to Ye Hao.
Ye Hao just nodded.
"Let’s go ho then. The place hasn’t been lived in for a while. It’ll take so ti to clean up, so let’s hurry back."
Gu Yi tucked her arm in Ye Hao’s, leaning on him as they walked ho.
Ye Hao glanced down at her, as Gu Yi tilted her head up and bead at him.
Ye Hao looked at her silly expression, shook his head smilingly.
Ye Hao opened the door, finding it quite dirty inside, with a layer of dust on the tables and floors.
Without changing shoes, they went in.
After putting their things down, they began cleaning.
Gu Yi first washed the slippers and left them to dry on the balcony.
They started with the kitchen, getting it sorted then boiling so water.
Before leaving, Gu Yi had put away the bed sheets and linens, so now she only needed to wipe the bed down and make it up.
The last thing was the floor, for which Ye Hao prepared to mop.
"Ye Hao, it’s about ti for my eting with Yitian, I’ll head to the store now. I’m leaving the house to you, okay?"
Gu Yi noticed it was already 8:35 a.m.
"Go ahead, don’t worry, I’ll clean up thoroughly."
Ye Hao reassured her while mopping.
"Alright, once you’re done, take a break and find us around lunchti, okay?"
Gu Yi didn’t want him to overwork, so she reminded him.
"Okay, I got it, you get to work."
After Gu Yi left, Ye Hao cleaned every corner of the house three tis before stopping.
He changed into slippers and moved the bedding outside to air out.
Last ti, Gu Yi left in a rush, not having ti to wash the sheets and bedding.
Ye Hao took a big basin, washed them, and hung them out to dry.
With everything done, it was almost 11 a.m.
Ye Hao checked the house one more ti before heading to the store to find Gu Yi.
