“Bring her in quickly, how is she injured so badly?” Qin Xue asked.

Upon hearing this, Qin Xue remained silent. She helped those towards whom she felt inspired, and typically only those she knew well. She didn’t know how to help this woman, so she decided to remain silent. Helping her deliver the baby would be the best assistance she could give.
“Alright, you all can leave now. We need to examine her,” Qin Xue shoed everyone out. As a doctor, fulfilling her responsibilities was paramount, anything else was not within her scope. Although this might sound inconsiderate, there were many needy people in the world, and she could only do so much to help.
She wasn’t a saviour, she had her own family to care for. She couldn’t just offer help readily. She could teach the woman a skill to help her beco self-reliant. With this thought in mind, she stopped thinking about other things and focused on the examination.
“How do you feel now?” Qin Xue asked.
“Okay.” The pregnant woman responded. Qin Xue looked up, surprised. Wasn’t it said that the woman didn’t speak Mandarin? Then who had just spoken?
“No need to look at like that, I can speak your language, he just doesn’t know,” the pregnant woman chuckled, her bitter smile caused Qin Xue to wince. Perhaps her previous assumptions had been wrong.
“You’re not from here,” Qin Xue stated skeptically, discerning no local accent in her Mandarin. She spoke distinctly, as opposed to her own parents who each had their own unique way of speaking.
“No, but I’m hoping you can keep it a secret. Please don’t tell the man from earlier, okay?” the pregnant woman pleaded to both Qin Xue and Ouyang Ziyu.
“Why not? He ntioned you were orphaned. He was trying to convince us to help you, so why don’t you want him to know this?” Qin Xue asked, curious why this woman would make such a request. Was she really in a difficult situation, or was there sothing dishonest about her?
“Because I was deceived and brought here by him. I just didn’t expect my bad luck to hit as soon as I arrived here. One could say I’m lucky or unfortunate to encounter such a thing,” the woman said with a scornful laugh.
“Do you have the strength to tell us more?” Qin Xue asked as she fetched a fruit from her bag for the woman.
“Thank you.” The woman accepted and began to eat. She was running out of strength, without enough food, she won’t have the energy to deliver her baby. So, she had to eat, she had to keep her child safe, she needed to go ho.
