“Brother Lang, what are you thinking about? Why are you only eating rice and not the dishes?” Ying asked, noticing Qin Lang at her side, who had been silently looking at her father and eating nothing but rice. Could one get full just by gazing at her father?
“Nothing. I was just thinking about so issues at work, but I’m not troubled by them anymore. How are things going between you and Gu Beihan lately?” Qin Lang inquired softly. Just because others didn’t know about sothing, didn’t an he was in the dark too.
“Just the usual. I have no idea why he doesn’t reciprocate my feelings.” Ying responded with a low mood, not being able to precisely state if Gu Beihan didn’t like her or if his liking was only platonic. She was distressed, yet she didn’t know what to do about it.
“Why don’t you just be upfront with him? You could simply tell him that you’re from the Qin family.” Qin Lang wondered why Ying had not revealed her identity yet despite having done so much for Gu Beihan. As for himself, he wouldn’t accept a woman of unknown identity, let alone a conscientious man like Gu Beihan.
Qin Lang couldn’t make a decisive judgent on whether Gu Beihan was a good or bad person. His gut instinct told him that his cousin shouldn’t be overly fixated on a man like Gu Beihan, but the fact that she was head over heels in love with him and even kept secrets from her family to get involved in his affairs, left him with no say in the matter.
If it weren’t for the fact that he knew Gu Beihan wouldn’t harm her, he wouldn’t let her act so recklessly, regardless of any circumstance.
