Chapter 1243: Chapter 1237: If I had Known This Would Happen, Why Bother in the First Place?_1 Chapter 1243: Chapter 1237: If I had Known This Would Happen, Why Bother in the First Place?_1 Chu Xiaoqiao thought about what Qin Xue had said, about not letting her family worry about her safety. Otherwise, she’d move directly into Qin Xue’s place.

“So, just your grandmother is going?” Zhao Xuezhi asked softly.

“And .” Chu Xiaoqiao responded cheerfully to her mother’s murmur. But she had no clue that those three words inflicted ten thousand wounds on her mother’s heart. The feeling of being left out while her daughter was invited was unspeakable.

But who could be blad? If you make a mistake, you have to bear the consequences. Zhao Xuezhi forced down her bitterness.

“Your grandmother is in the garden planting flowers, go tell her.” Zhao Xuezhi thought, it was okay if her daughter and mother-in-law accepted the invitation, at least they weren’t completely leaving her in the lurch.

“Alright, mum, take care.” Chu Xiaoqiao said as she walked towards the back garden.

In their courtyard, like those of other founding heroes, each family had a small yard. It served as a place for farming or gardening. Though the area was small, it kept the elders occupied, preventing them from being too bored.

“Okay, be sensible. Don’t always hang around outside.” Zhao Xuezhi didn’t know that Chu Xiaoqiao was now helping Qin Xue manage a shop, and imagined her to be as idle as she used to be.

“Grandma, I’m back. Guess what good news I have to tell you”. Chu Xiaoqiao ca to Miao Qingqing’s side without paying any attention to her mother, spoke in a mysterious tone, trying to pique her grandmother’s curiosity.

“Have you found so money?” Miao Qingqing asked Chu Xiaoqiao without raising her head, assuming there would be no other good news for a granddaughter who was running a store.

“Grandma, you’re so materialistic. The first thing that cos to your mind is always money.” Chu Xiaoqiao was dispirited, considering whether to pursue the conversation.

“Not materialistic. It’s just that you’ve never experienced tough tis. Otherwise, you wouldn’t think talk about money is materialistic.” Miao Qingqing raised her head to look at her granddaughter. It seed that she was living too comfortably to understand the hardships of life.

“Grandma, that’s not what I ant.” Chu Xiaoqiao countered. She had endured hardships when she was young, and didn’t always enjoy good food and comforts.

“Then tell , what’s the matter?” Miao Qingqing asked after filling the last shovel of soil and cleaning her hands.

“My sister-in-law asked you to their house for dinner tomorrow.” Chu Xiaoqiao didn’t beat around the bush.

“Really? I haven’t seen them for a while. I miss them very much.” Miao Qingqing thought it was truly good news.

“Yes, I ca back just to let you know. My sister-in-law and others are still outside waiting for . I must go now, I won’t be back tonight.” Chu Xiaoqiao wanted to slip away quickly after delivering the ssage.

“Is Qin Xue outside? Who else is there? Why didn’t you invite them in?” Miao Qingqing didn’t care for her shovel anymore. She started to move outside while blaming her granddaughter.

“Grandma, I feel wronged. I invited my sister-in-law on your behalf, but she refused. What could I do?” Then Chu Xiaoqiao told her grandmother about An Hao.

“That girl is simply too kind. Where are they now? I will go to see her and the two children.” Miao Qingqing didn’t ntion the grandson, she knew he would be at school and wouldn’t have co.

“Mum, where are you going?” Zhao Xuezhi asked as she saw her mother-in-law and daughter leaving.

“Qin Xue has co to the courtyard, I am going to see her and the two great-grandchildren.” Miao Qingqing didn’t want to say this, but after glancing at her daughter-in-law, she sighed and spoke it out.

“Mum, I…” Zhao Xuezhi wanted to say she would go too, but before she could finish her sentence, Miao Qingqing interrupted her.

“It’s better if you don’t show up in front of them just yet, or the relationship that has just started to nd could turn sour again.” Miao Qingqing interrupted her, regretting why she had done what she did in the past.
