Chapter 1272: Chapter 1266: Not Playing Favorites_1 Chapter 1272: Chapter 1266: Not Playing Favorites_1 Anyone who was keen enough could still notice. Whenever people ntioned that she was alone with several n, her expression subtly changed. However, she was good at hiding it, not letting anyone catch on.
The keen ones indeed spotted it, and one of them was the man she t that night.
Another one was Qin Lei, who’d been watching his wife and daughter from a distance.
“From now on, all of you stay away from that old man Qin’s girl. She’s not soone good.” Qin Lei only spoke up when the family had moved well away from the crowd, reminding his wife and child.
“Dad, did you discover sothing?” Jiale sensed from her father’s words that things were not straightforward.
“I feel she’s not as she appears, she’s too calm for so reason.” Qin Lei recalled the fleeting expression he had seen on her face. The more he thought about it, the more he suspected that Su’E was just pretending.
“Dad, are you implying that people who are unusually calm like Su’E should be considered abnormal?” Jiale was unsure if she’d understood her father, but that was what she had inferred.
“Hmm, ‘overly unusual ans there’s a demon lurking'”, Qin Lei agreed, that was exactly what he ant.
“I always knew that Mr. Qin’s girl was sly, not reputable at all.” Shulan rarely gossipped about anyone, but she genuinely disliked that girl, Su’E.
“I’m glad my sister married and moved to Imperial Capital. Otherwise, who knows how Su’E would have tricked her.” Jiale felt her sister was genuinely naïve, constantly shielding and getting manipulated by Su’E. She despised the thought of soone selling her sister and counting the money cheerfully. Fortunately, her sister was married now; otherwise, she’d be genuinely worried for her future.
“Your sister is just innocent.” On hearing his younger daughter’s words, he defended his older one.
“Dad, sure, I know you ant no harm, but don’t you think my sister is overly innocent? She doesn’t know good from evil.” Jiale wasn’t criticizing her sister; rather she was upset because her wonderful sister always shielded won like Su’E, who proved their hypocrisy.
“Hasn’t your sister improved now? After marrying and living with her husband, she’s changed significantly. Haven’t you noticed that the things she’s been doing since her return reflect normality? I haven’t seen her visiting Mr. Qin’s daughter anymore.” Qin Lei always pampered his eldest the most, so he defended her imdiately when his younger daughter started questioning.
“Mom, don’t you see how Dad is still as biased as ever? Even if my sister does sothing wrong, she’s the good one to him.” Jiale was discontent with her father’s protective actions and complained to her mother.
“You just realized your dad’s character? He loves both of you the sa. But your sister almost drowned while trying to save you back then. That’s why he paid extra attention to her. In his heart, he doesn’t love you any less than your sister.” Her husband felt guilty about his eldest daughter.
He knew she was not his biological daughter, but she was willing to risk her life for her half-sister. Although the daughter didn’t know about this, she did it nonetheless. Even though they were able to save her, the extended duration of being subrged took a toll on her, changing her temperant and weakening her physical condition. So, the husband devoted more attention to his eldest. That doesn’t an he loves his other two children any less.
