Chapter 1301: Chapter 1295: The Wounded Man_1 Chapter 1301: Chapter 1295: The Wounded Man_1 Ye Xuan’s blood was still flowing incessantly, and the sll of blood was getting heavier. He was really afraid that those people would trace the scent and find him.
If those people did not leave, he would eventually bleed to death, even if he wasn’t beaten to death.
After waiting for a while, whether by divine intervention or not, those people finally left. Ye Xuan, leaning against the wall, slowly stood up. He tore his clothes and bandaged his wounds haphazardly, trying to slow the bleeding. He shook his fainting head and then headed towards the Qins’ village.
Ye Xuan solely relied on his willpower to return to his current dwelling in the dark. Just before he fainted, he seed to hear a sowhat familiar voice.
Qing Zhu stared at the man in front of her. She really shouldn’t have opened the door. As she was about to relieve herself, a crashing sound at her door gave her a fright. And then, this present situation unfolded.
“Hey, who are you, wake up. Don’t faint here.” QingZhu smacked the man’s face. This man, soaked in blood – who exactly was he? Surely, he wasn’t so sort of notorious criminal, was he?
Qing Zhu looked at the man who had passed out, wanting to close the door and leave him outside. But, she felt a pang of sympathy and ultimately dragged him into the house. She then hosed down the blood stains at her doorway.
“Who exactly are you? You’ve really put in a fix.” Qing Zhu uttered after cleaning up the doorway. She dragged the man further inside, positioning him onto the mat she spread out. She then bolted the front door.
The unconscious Ye Xuan, of course, was not able to answer her questions. So, Qing Zhu was just talking to herself.
“This is all I can do for you. When you wake up, leave my house imdiately. Do you hear ?” Qing Zhu fetched hot water to clean his still-bleeding wounds, and then applied the dicinal powder that Qin Xue had left her. The wounds that were still oozing blood stopped bleeding the mont the powder ca in contact – it was truly a miracle drug.
About to finish with the bandages, Qing Zhu suddenly froze. Why was she doing all of these? And why so proficiently?
“Ah, such a headache.” The more Qing Zhu thought, the more she had a headache. The intense pain made her cry out unconsciously.
Qing Zhu barely kept herself from fainting from the pain. She didn’t dare to think any further, taking so ti to compose herself, before continuing the bandaging.
Qing Zhu was finishing up the bandages when she felt sothing odd about the man. He didn’t seem real, but he was very much a flesh and blood human being.
Qing Zhu stared at the man under the dim light from her oil lamp, wondering what felt strange. She inspected him from head to toe again and again until she noticed he was shivering from the cold. It then occurred to her that she had stripped him bare and hadn’t even given him a blanket. The weather was freezing cold – it would be a wonder if he didn’t freeze to death.
Qing Zhu slowly returned to the room and pulled out a quilt from the dresser. It had originally been prepared by Qin Xue’s mother for her baby, to change in case the bed got wet. Now, it was being put to use for this man.
After covering him with the quilt, Qing Zhu stood, looking down at the man at her feet, hoping that he did not co down with a fever tonight. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be anyone to take care of him. Then, she slowly returned to her bed.
Her foot could just touch the floor, but she was unable to put any weight on it. Putting forth effort was impossible. So, she could only allow the man to rest at the entrance. Sighing, she decided not to think about it anymore and went to sleep. Anything else could wait until tomorrow.
She was exhausted and sleepy, and her foot was throbbing in pain. If she didn’t rest now, when Yuran woke up, she wouldn’t be able to sleep. The little girl would wake up hungry, and after eating her fill, would demand company to play with before she would consent to sleep. So, when the child sleeps, she too would have to sleep.
