“Understood. Boss, you be careful. I noticed two tough characters among the police.” Having beco very familiar with the local police, the henchman could easily recognize any new faces.
“Okay, you all be careful too.” The man waved his hand, dismissing the henchman.
“Xie, you’re really done in by your own brother. They’ve tracked you down to this place. Where can you hide now?” The man cast a low look at the scenery outside the window before leaving the room.
“Are you the boss here?” Mr. Zhang eyed the man.
“Yes, may I ask what this is about…” The man looked at the group that had just entered and asked.
“A spot check.” Mr. Zhang secretly glanced at Chu Molin. He didn’t know who this man was, only that he had received this assignnt shortly after Chu had gone to the chief’s office.
“Well then, go ahead and do your job. If you find anything that needs improving, let know and I’ll fix it up”, the man readily agreed, letting them inspect the premises.
“Thank you for your cooperation.” Chu Molin, noticing the man give him several glances, offhandedly responded.
“It’s what we should do. Please, make yourselves at ho.” The man stepped aside to allow them in.
Chu Molin nodded in acknowledgnt, then entered and looked around, finding many things differed from what Ye Xuan had described. Had they beco aware of Ye Xuan’s intentions and changed things up?
Chu Molin cautiously approached the room Ye Xuan had ntioned yesterday. Perhaps due to their inspection, they easily gained access but found nothing inside except a bed and a set of desk and chairs.
Chu Molin walked over, pulled back the covers and felt a lingering warmth. It seed soone had slept here recently but was now gone. He didn’t need to guess to know the person had fled.
Even though they now knew sothing was fishy, they didn’t have any evidence, so it was of no use. They could only hope Ye Xuan would co up with sothing.
At first, the man was a little worried seeing Chu Molin’s actions. However, when Chu just touched the blanket and withdrew his hand, the man’s heart settled.
