Apparently, his dream was not a fignt of imagination. However, he wondered where the woman had gone as she hadn’t co back after such a long ti. He couldn’t delay any more, he needed to check on his comrades.
Finally, after a long wait and no sight of her, he decided to leave his only possession, a watch, behind as a token. He scraped so grass off the ground and wrote a few words on it with a tree branch, asking her to wait for his return.
Little did Ye Xuan know, his departure would result in a year’s absence. He had never forgotten the person who had saved him and he pledged upon his return to find her. No matter if she was beautiful or plain, he would marry her. To him, physical appearance was inconsequential compared to moral character.
Ye Xuan spent the night considerably troubled by events from a year ago which he kept dreaming about. He did not understand why he kept dreaming of such things. However, he kept on dreaming of a distinctly fresh scent which seed familiar. Just as he was about to rember where he’d experienced it before, he jolted awake.
Ye Xuan rubbed his slightly aching forehead, bemused why he was dreaming of that night again. Was the dream reminding him to find her?
“Ye Xuan, are you awake yet?” Chu Molin called out early in the morning.
“Brother, I’m awake; give a mont, I will be right there.” Ye Xuan replied to Chu Molin, then he got up, detecting a scent of alcohol on him. The alcoholic sll was not bad as before but rather sweet. What kind of wine did Molin keep at ho that the after-effects felt so different this ti?
“Get up and join for a run. I will wait for you in the living room. Once we are done, you can go back to the military district after a shower,” Chu Molin commanded authoritatively.
“I understand.” Ye Xuan swiftly folded the quilt into a neat pile before heading out the door.
“Let’s go.” Chu Molin called out when he saw Ye Xuan.
“Okay.” Ye Xuan didn’t argue. Running was a basic daily routine.
“How do you feel? Do you have a headache?” Chu Molin leading the way, asked Ye Xuan.
“No, I don’t have a headache. What kind of wine do you have at ho? Not only does it not give a headache, but it also leaves a sweet aroma on the body. I don’t feel like soone who just drank alcohol. Yet, the sll gives away that I did drink.” Ye Xuan contemplated buying so for his old man if it was available for sale.
“It’s brewed by my wife.” Chu Molin thought of Qin Xue’s treasure trove of a cabinet, questioning if there were anything she couldn’t make.
“Your wife’s craftsmanship is comndable. Do you sell it at your place? I’m interested in buying a few,” Ye Xuan didn’t directly ask for it, knowing the importance of not being overly greedy.
“Yes, we do. My uncle owns a liquor shop in S Province,” Chu Molin glanced at Ye Xuan.
“Brother, you are joking, aren’t you?” Ye Xuan was stupefied. He was in Imperial Capital and couldn’t possibly travel that far to buy alcohol. From Chu Molin’s response, he figured that if he wanted to buy it, he would have to go to such a remote place. However, Chu Molins’ intention was clear: He would give him so, but selling was out of question.
“Since when did I ever joke with you?” Chu Molin continued his conversation with Ye Xuan, both running effortlessly, inducing admiration from fellow runners.
“Then I will exchange so materials for it. I can’t let your wife toil for nothing.” Ye Xuan realised it wasn’t easy to brew such good wine and even harder to buy.
