“You’ll need to co with us to the station for questioning, you’ll be free to leave afterwards if nothing’s wrong.” Xiao Zhang certainly wouldn’t release them yet, not until the team returned with an outco.
Of course, they could only be held for a maximum of 48 hours. They had to find sufficient evidence proving their guilt within this period, else the suspects would have to be released. Even if they found them guilty later, it would be too late to charge them.
