Chapter 1445: Chapter 1439 Scared_1 Chapter 1445: Chapter 1439 Scared_1 Jing Xin walked along the route described by Qin Xue in search of them. He had just reached the corner of the street when he saw a mother and child approaching on the other side of the road, so he chose not to call out to them.
Fang Xiu and her child were chatting and laughing, undoubtedly about Taotao. Fang Xiu only listened, as her son did not understand her language, rendering her just a silent audience to their conversation.
“Dad.” When talking with his mother, Taotao looked up to check for cars and spotted his father on the other side. So, he began to shout out loudly.
To her surprise, Fang Xiu saw Jing Xin approach. She gave him a smile, but while she was still smiling, Taotao let go of her hand and ran towards his father. As he was running into the middle of the road, a speeding car suddenly appeared, and she could only watch as it sped towards her son.
Panic set in for Fang Xiu, and she tried to move towards her son, wanting to grab hold of him. But as she moved towards him, the car closed in on her son.
“Don’t!” Fang Xiu’s cry was filled with despair.
Having heard his mother’s cry, Taotao turned to look back at her. But, the next instant, he was pushed away. Bemused, he looked up to see his father’s worried face.
“Wah wah wah, daddy.” Taotao began to cry as he ca back to his senses.
“It’s okay, don’t be scared. Dad is right here.” Jing Xin wanted to pat Taotao’s back to soothe him, but his hand was hurt from the fall when he was rushing to save Taotao, and it was virtually immovable now.
“Are you okay, are you all okay?” Fang Xiu anxiously ran over to them and asked.
“We are fine, don’t worry.” The mont Jing Xin heard his wife’s question, he quickly reassured her, oblivious to the situation’s gravity.
“Can you stand up?” On seeing the beads of sweat on Jing Xin’s forehead, Fang Xiu got more convinced that he was not okay.
“Maybe in a while, you help Taotao up first. I can get up myself.” Jing Xin’s hand was numbed from the fall, so he needed to get Taotao up first.
“Taotao, co. Let mum help you up,” Fang Xiu carefully helped her son stand up.
“Mommy, scared.” Taotao was indeed terrified.
“No need to be scared, it’s okay now.” Fang Xiu wanted to scold him but seeing him so terrified, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
“Daddy.” Taotao turned around to look at Jing Xin, the tears flowing freely down his face. Seeing his son cry like this was heart-wrenching for Jing Xin. It was only the second ti he’d seen his son cry like this. The first was in S Province when Mrs. Jing upset his wife until she fainted, and the shock made Taotao cry. Now, he was crying out of fear again.
“Are you guys okay?” The driver hadn’t expected a child to suddenly run across the road.
“Although our child is to bla, this road is close to a park with many pedestrians. Driving so fast in such a place can easily lead to accidents. Please be more careful.” Both Jing Xin and Fang Xiu knew that their son was in the wrong, but the driver was also at fault for driving so fast.

“But you seem to be injured. We should go to the hospital first.” The driver wasn’t an irresponsible person. He couldn’t just leave knowing that Jing Xin was injured.
