Chapter 1730: Chapter 1724: Ti to Eat

“What are you eating for? You don’t help with anything all day, and you still want to eat? Why don’t you just eat yourself to death?” Su’e’s mother flared up the mont she saw her in this crazy state.

Not helping with the chores was one thing. Eating a lot—fine, they could tolerate that too. But causing trouble every few days, that was the real headache for them.

Yesterday, they saw a large group of people helping the Qins search for a missing child. Honestly, they were secretly gloating, thinking the Qin family had been living too comfortably. Perhaps even the heavens found it unfair and were teaching them a lesson.

But today, not only did they hear the child had been found, the police had shown up at their door shortly after. And the first thing they said was that her daughter was suspected of kidnapping. Her heart sank—what a bringer of trouble.

Only, this ti, the trouble was of a completely different nature, so she felt a pang of guilt, afraid the family might also be implicated and taken away.

“Eat food.” Qin Su’e, unkempt and disheveled, appeared in front of Ji Dong and the others.

Ji Dong looked at Qin Su’e’s appearance. He found it hard to believe that soone in this condition could have done sothing like that.

But several children had pointed fingers at her, and even the Qins said kids don’t lie. They had to co and see if it was really like what they’d been told.

Now that they were face-to-face with her, however, they hesitated. This was nothing like what they had imagined.

They had intended to bring her back to the station for interrogation, but after seeing her like this, they had no idea what to do.

“Qin Su’e? Are you Qin Su’e?” Ji Dong held a notebook and pen in his hand.

“Eat food.” Qin Su’e stared fixedly at the notebook and pen in Ji Dong’s hands, as if they were sothing delicious.

“Qin Su’e, please cooperate with our investigation.” Ji Dong felt a throbbing headache looking at Qin Su’e like this. How were they supposed to proceed?

“Eat food.” Qin Su’e suddenly lunged for Ji Dong’s notebook, her eyes glinting like those of a starving wolf seeing prey.

Her sudden movent startled Ji Dong. How could a woman in this condition possibly have committed a kidnapping?

“Captain, I don’t think she looks like soone who could have done sothing like this. How about we head back for now and co again later to ask them to cooperate with the investigation?” One of the officers, observing Qin Su’e, couldn’t believe she was capable of anything sinister. A person who didn’t even seem to know who they were—how could they have the mind to plan sothing bad?

“Looks like we have no choice.” Ji Dong sighed helplessly. He had never handled a case quite like this before.

Who would’ve expected to co across such a maddening case? On one side, there was soone insisting the suspect was a madwoman. On the other, there was a madwoman so far gone you couldn’t get a coherent word out of her. It was enough to make him pull his hair out.

“Mr. Qin, this isn’t getting us anywhere right now. Keep an eye on her, will you? We’ll go back and continue our investigation first. If we need your cooperation, I trust you’ll do everything needed, understood?” Ji Dong pocketed his notebook and pen, turning to Mr. Qin with instructions.

“Of course, of course. We’ll cooperate fully, absolutely.” Mr. Qin forced a smile as he agreed to Ji Dong’s words.

As long as they didn’t bring any more humiliation to their family, that was all that mattered. Judging by the police’s tone, it sounded like they were going to let the matter slide for now. The words about needing cooperation later were just for show in his view, so Mr. Qin was naturally relieved and glad to think this ordeal would soon blow over.

“Good. Keep a close eye on her, and don’t let her cause any more trouble. Until there’s a conclusion about what happened with the Qins, your daughter is still the pri suspect.

But given her current condition, it’s unsuitable to bring her back with us. So, we’ll let her stay ho for now. Once her situation improves, we’ll return.” Ji Dong gave Mr. Qin a pointed look, then glanced again at the erratic Qin Su’e, before issuing his final instructions.
