Chapter 1754: Chapter 1748 I Grew Up

“Ye Li, what’s the point of acting tough with ? If you’ve got guts, go vent your anger at Qin Jiale instead.” Niu Jun was clearly frustrated.

He thought that joining the club would give him so advantages, but who knew Pang Chao would beat him to a pulp every ti. And whenever he brought it up, people just said that’s how everyone trains and told him to either suck it up or quit. He had no choice but to endure it, though he’d already decided to quit the club next sester—not dealing with this nonsense anymore.

Not to ntion he hadn’t succeeded in pursuing Qin Jiale, and now there was the risk of getting beaten to death by Pang Chao. Did they think he didn’t know? The one secretly pulling strings was Ye Li. If it weren’t for Ye Li, why would Pang Chao dare act that way? So, at the end of the day, it was all Ye Li scheming against him. Well, he certainly wasn’t going to give Ye Li the chance to do him in.

“Ugh, I told you to shut up and you’re still whining here—so damn annoying.” Pang Chao glared at Niu Jun and landed a punch straight to his gut. Since asking him to shut up didn’t work, might as well hit him until he did.

“Ye Li, tell him to stop, or I’ll go report this to the teacher.” Niu Jun had taken several punches in a row, and Pang Chao showed no signs of stopping.

Out of options, Niu Jun called out to Ye Li. If Pang Chao kept going, he genuinely feared he might not make it.

“Chaochao, let’s go.” Ye Li finally spoke up after watching Niu Jun endure enough. He didn’t pay him much attention otherwise.

“Alright, boss, let’s go.” Pang Chao dusted off his hands and adjusted his sleeves before speaking to Ye Li, clearly satisfied with the beating he’d just delivered.

“Next ti, don’t hold back. Sothing that could’ve been resolved in a few punches—you dragged it out for so long.” Ye Li cast a calm glance at Pang Chao.

That comnt nearly made Niu Jun die of anger. What did he an by “holding back”? He’d barely survived the beating, and now Ye Li was saying it was “light”? Was he blind? Of course, Niu Jun didn’t dare voice his thoughts—he could only watch them leave, though he couldn’t disguise the hatred simring in his eyes.

“Boss, that guy really hates you. Did you do sothing so unforgivable?” Pang Chao caught the look in Niu Jun’s eyes and asked Ye Li with a chuckle.

“Do you seriously not know what I did?” Ye Li was tempted to kick him. The one causing trouble loudly brags, while the one who didn’t do anything has to take the bla—and yet he has the audacity to ask.

“Uh, alright, sorry, boss, my bad.” Pang Chao quickly admitted defeat. He had been far too smug and always left the ss for his boss to clean up. Honestly, he felt a bit guilty.

“If you know you’re wrong, then change. Don’t keep repeating the sa empty apologies every ti.” Ye Li only let it slide because they were close; if Pang Chao weren’t a long-ti acquaintance, Ye Li wouldn’t waste his ti dealing with soone as prone to stirring trouble as him.

From childhood until now, Ye Li had taken the bla for him countless tis. Wasn’t it supposed to be the reverse, where the lackey shields the boss from trouble? Why did their dynamic get flipped?

“Next ti I’ll definitely change, I promise.” Pang Chao rubbed his nose awkwardly—his boss didn’t believe him anymore, and sohow he felt horribly pitiful.

Thankfully, Ye Li couldn’t read his thoughts. If he did, he’d probably thrash Pang Chao on the spot. What kind of nonsense was “I’m pitiful”? Clearly, Ye Li was the one who deserved pity.

Ye Li returned to Ye Junhua’s house, burdened by lingering thoughts. He changed his shoes at the entrance; it had been a while since he last ca ho.

“Ye Li, you’re back. How’s school lately?” Yin Sujin asked as she noticed him swapping out his shoes at the doorway.

“Pretty good, Aunt Sujin. What about Shushu?” Ye Li still had sothing to ask Ye Zishu.

“Ye Li, have you forgotten sothing important?” Yin Sujin didn’t answer his question but posed one of her own.

“Auntie, I’ve grown up,” Ye Li replied helplessly.

“Even if you’ve grown up, in my eyes, you’re still the little kid who used to trail behind all day.” Yin Sujin smiled gently at Ye Li.
