Chapter 1775: Chapter 1769: Don’t Want to Take Advantage

“Aunt Wu, how could I take advantage of your family? If you don’t want any money, then I’ll go to soone else’s house.” Qin Xue wasn’t the type to take small advantages from others. If Aunt Wu insisted on not taking money, she really wouldn’t feel comfortable about it.

She did have plenty of produce in her own space, but she needed a reason to take it out. So, she planned to buy vegetables from Aunt Wu’s house and then find a chance to swap them with the produce from her space. This way, her family could enjoy the superior quality of the crops from her space, which might also help improve their health.

As for whether anyone would notice sothing odd, Qin Xue didn’t think too much about it. After all, they’d be leaving soon, and it’s not like they’d eat it often anyway.

“Qin Xue, you girl, you’ve really changed…” Aunt Wu hadn’t expected Qin Xue to beco so polite now. If it had been before, and she had said sothing like that, Qin Xue might’ve dragged Qin Su’e over to clear out her vegetable patch.

But now, not only was Qin Xue not taking things, she insisted on paying. Aunt Wu couldn’t help but think that people really grow up after they get married. Ever since Qin Xue got married, it was as if she’d beco a completely different person. Truly, she had grown up.

But Qin Xue felt it was a bit unjust. Whether it was her current self or the original Qin Xue, neither of them had any intention of taking advantage of others. The original owner had been taken advantage of by Qin Su’e, and that’s how she ended up doing so many things that annoyed people. But now she wasn’t the original owner anymore, and besides, Qin Su’e was already locked up in the police station. Even if she wanted to stir up trouble again, it was impossible now.

Qin Xue thought one of the best decisions she had made was probably this one. With a rotten apple like Qin Su’e gone, even the air in the village felt cleaner.

“Aunt Wu, I know life is hard for everyone these days. That’s why my mom said I should co to you when I needed sothing. If you really don’t want to take my money, then I’ll just go buy from soone else. By then, the other families would probably be grinning from ear to ear. Even if they charged more, I wouldn’t even know it,” Qin Xue said, feeling that people like Aunt Wu were rare nowadays. That’s why she thought Aunt Wu was soone worth keeping close ties with.

“Since you’re saying that, alright then, I won’t argue with you anymore. But just take as much as you want. These vegetables really don’t cost much,” Aunt Wu replied. After all, everyone had their own small plots of land where they grew their vegetables. Every household had so; it was just that people were reluctant to eat too much and sotis took a bit to sell at the market — and that too, secretly.

There hadn’t been anyone like Qin Xue who would openly co over to buy vegetables. Aunt Wu was also worried Qin Xue might run into soone with bad intentions who would report her. If that happened, Qin Xue would end up in trouble.

So, Aunt Wu decided to take the money and not let Qin Xue go elsewhere. Otherwise, if sothing really happened, it’d be hard to handle.

Qin Xue didn’t know what Aunt Wu was thinking. It wasn’t until after she went ho and ntioned it to her mother that her mother explained the situation to her. Only then did Qin Xue realize how hard it was to be a farr.

The truth was, no one had it easy back then, and to top it off, they could only give things away for free and weren’t allowed to sell anything. How could a life like that not fall behind?

Luckily, there were reforms later on. Otherwise, such a pitiful and frustrating life would really have been too much to bear.

“Aunt Wu, do you sell your chickens?” Qin Xue asked, her eyes locked onto a big, plump castrated chicken as she turned to Aunt Wu.

“Qin Xue, you’re not really thinking about buying chickens too, are you?” Aunt Wu asked in disbelief, staring at Qin Xue. Did she really have to go all out like this?

“Yes! You know how it is at our house. My grandma is at ho helping take care of things, so we didn’t dare to raise too many, just two hens for laying eggs. But I see your chickens are really well-raised. Keeping them around just eats up your grain anyway, so why don’t you sell one? Of course, selling two would be even better,” Qin Xue said with a smile. She didn’t like eating roosters; her favorite was castrated chicken. The at of a castrated chicken was, without a doubt, the best.
