Jin Yufeng punched the desk after Ah Qi left, "Dongfang Li, how dare you say such things? Did you ever ask if I agreed or not?"
Jin Yufeng never expected that the normally timid and gentle woman would dare to run away from ho, let alone make such a decision. Had he underestimated her all along, or was she rely pretending in front of him?
Zuo Yaqin, hiding outside the door, almost couldn’t stop herself from rushing in when she heard the noise in the study. She knew that Ah Qi was up to no good, and indeed, he hadn’t told her the truth. So what if they found her? His hand in the pocket of his suit touched the box that he hadn’t given away. He took it out, opened it, and looked at the quietly lying item. Inside, a delicate ring was nestled at the center of the box, his first intended gift for her, but she was no longer there.
With a snap, Jin Yufeng closed the box, opened the window, and raised his hand to throw it out, but suddenly stopped, pulled back his hand, and put the box back in his pocket. Then he turned and went back to the room he rarely entered.
Jin Yufeng looked at the warm decor, sothing he had never really noticed before, because his thoughts were never here. So he had never stopped here.
But today, he was particularly restless. He just wanted to take a good look as if that woman was still here smiling at him.
Jin Yufeng sat on the bed, feeling the sheets beneath him, recalling how he only used this bed for physical needs. Once that was done, he would leave and never stayed overnight. What was he thinking then? Even now, he didn’t know what he truly wanted.
He stood up, opened the closet, and saw her clothes neatly hung inside. Many of the clothes he had never seen her wear. He thought she didn’t have clothes, but she had so many. Why didn’t she wear them?
Jin Yufeng looked at her dressing table, which held only a bottle of face oil and a comb, nothing else. Why were there so few items? It seed so empty. Shouldn’t a woman’s dressing table have many things?
