"Yu Chen, my brother, we really didn’t say anything secretive. We were just asking if we could have your sister stay and play at our house for the night, that’s all. It’s not a secret conversation, okay?" Cohen looked at Yu Chen’s angry face and hurriedly explained that his and Yu Ze’s conversation was really not about whispering secrets.
"Oh, isn’t that so? You’re only saying this now, hmph, you all don’t like anymore." Little Yu Chen was feeling jealous and didn’t want to pay attention to them anymore.
"Mom, brother is being unreasonable." Cohen was anxious and directly complained to Qin Xue.
"What’s wrong?" Qin Xue was watching them argue, but was suddenly called by Cohen, apparently unsure about how to handle the situation.
"Brother said we were whispering, but we really weren’t." Cohen was cornered and didn’t know how to explain, so he went straight to an adult.
"So what did you say?" Qin Xue held back a laugh and asked him.
"Sister wants to play with the elder brother, so I said, let’s keep her at ho to play for the night, but brother got angry saying we were leaving him out." Cohen was feeling quite wronged; he hadn’t done anything like that, but Yu Chen just wouldn’t believe him.
"Well, your sister is young, we can’t make decisions for her. You need to ask her parents. And Yu Chen, you shouldn’t get angry just because you couldn’t hear what your brothers were talking about, okay? You should first ask them what they were saying and if they could let you know. If they can, they’ll tell you, and if they can’t, it’s not necessarily because they’ll tell you just because you’re angry. This is at ho, where your brothers might accommodate you, but what if this happens outside with other kids? Would you do the sa? If other kids treated you like this, how would you react? Would you be happy?" Qin Xue tried to communicate with her younger son using simple, understandable words.
"Mom, I was wrong, brothers, I’m sorry." Yu Chen opened his eyes wide at his mother, then thought about it and apologized.
"It’s okay, let’s play together." Cohen didn’t hold a grudge after hearing Yu Chen’s apology, and imdiately took his hand to sit and play on the mat.
"I didn’t expect you to be such a good mother every ti." Qing Zhu watched Qin Xue handle the children’s issue, resolving it with just a few words. It’s a sha she doesn’t beco a kindergarten teacher, or perhaps even a diator.
"What are you saying, I’m just teaching him to think from another perspective. If he doesn’t want sothing himself, surely others wouldn’t want it either. Once he realizes where he was wrong, he’ll naturally apologize. Do you really think I’m all-capable?" Qin Xue laughed to tears; if she had that kind of ability, she wouldn’t choose to stay at ho instead of going out socializing.
Back when she was at the hospital, there were dical disputes, not to ntion among kids. When children play together, it’s normal for small disagreents to arise, but these are just minor issues that get resolved once they talk things out.
So, among their three kids, handling such issues is relatively easy. Unlike in other families, where too many kids might lead to favoritism, which could unbalance the children’s minds. If adults say anything, the child might feel you’re favoring another, which isn’t good for their relationships and is a hassle for adults too.
Therefore, in families with more kids, handling these situations requires a more careful approach or it can beco quite tricky.
