Capítulo 2149: Chapter 2143: Dozing Off
The family returned ho leisurely, cooked, ate, sat in the yard chatting, with so talking and others playing, creating such a warm atmosphere that made people envious.
They continued until everyone started nodding off, and only then did they wash up and retreat to their rooms to rest.
“Wait, Xue’er, what’s on your shoulder?” Chu Molin was initially reading and hadn’t noticed, but when he heard the sound of changing clothes and glanced over at his wife, his expression imdiately changed.
“What is it?” Qin Xue didn’t know what was wrong with him.
“What’s that mark on your shoulder? Co over here and let see.” Chu Molin hoped it wasn’t what he feared, but how could she have been bitten there? This puzzled him, so he wanted to check if it was indeed what he suspected.
“Oh, you’re talking about this? It was bitten by a snake, really pissed off, almost made it into a soup.” Qin Xue hadn’t thought about the Red Snake anymore, but now that Chu Molin brought it up, it reminded her of the incident.
“How did you get bitten by a snake here?” Chu Molin, observing her, was clueless about what had happened.
“It’s just that last ti I accidentally brought a snake into my space, and then…” Qin Xue detailed to Chu Molin how she encountered the Red Snake, how it got into her space, and how she got bitten.
“So you accidentally brought it in. Based on what you said, the snake should’ve been poisonous, but why were you alright afterward? That point is indeed suspicious. Or could it be that your blood has a purifying effect against snake venom?” Chu Molin couldn’t figure it out either, but it didn’t stop him from speculating.
“It seems you might have a point. At that ti, I just thought I didn’t want to die, so I subrged myself in spiritual spring water, and then I slowly regained consciousness. Speaking of which, I felt a faint stomachache, thinking it was my period coming. But with what you said, I feel maybe my blood was purifying toxins, which caused that reaction.” Reflecting on her sensations at the ti, Qin Xue found it was the only way to explain it, or else she couldn’t make sense of so things.
“That could be it. This ti you were lucky, but next ti might not be the sa. You have to be more careful, because without you, what would I do?” Chu Molin embraced her, sitting her on his lap and touched the bite marks on her shoulder. Just hearing about it made him feel alard; the fear in his heart was undeniable. He truly feared she’d be gone, and then his life would surely undergo a transformation, and he didn’t know if he could continue living.
It’s about soone who originally didn’t have a life goal, who then found one and decided to strive, and suddenly loses it, leading to a complete collapse. This is why when two elderly people live together they can lead vibrant lives, but when one passes away, the other quickly loses spirit, shrinks, and seems to be nearing their end.
Therefore, having a goal is extrely important, as it motivates a person to live fully, whereas without a goal, one becos like a walking corpse, devoid of vitality.
Hence, Chu Molin couldn’t believe that he’d be able to live on without Qin Xue.
“Stop saying silly things, okay? No more thoughts like that. Our lives aren’t entirely under our own control; we can only strive to live each day well, but accidents are unpredictable, and no one can guarantee anything. But I hope you rember, whether I’m by your side or not, you must live well. If I’m still alive, I’ll find ways to return to you after leaving you. But if I’m unlucky enough to die, I’ll reincarnate elsewhere, grow up, and co find you. Just rember, I will always seek you out no matter what.” Qin Xue felt sorry for him.
