Qin Xue really didn’t want to keep it. An animal that was set on leaving wasn’t sothing she wanted to raise, much less deal with any other issues.

The Red Snake wasn’t at all happy with Qin Xue’s words, having heard them before. But it couldn’t live freely outside, and releasing it would be pointless. Plus, what was the use of struggling to leave?
"Then what do you an by constantly thinking about leaving? Isn’t that just wanting to die? Then I’ll grant you that. You’re still not satisfied; I really don’t know how to please you."
Xue Ling tossed the spiritual mouse in front of the Red Snake and said coldly. This kind of snake made him really want to eat it.
"Better a bad life than a good death, don’t you understand?"
The Red Snake was angry. Even ants strive to live, so how could a Snake King like it want to die so soon?
Both Qin Xue and Xue Ling understood the Red Snake’s thoughts, but neither of them wanted to see its unwilling deanor. If there was a way, they didn’t want to forcibly keep it either.
Xue Ling was rely an artifact spirit, and its previous master never taught it how to break a contract, so it truly didn’t understand this. The contract with the Red Snake and Qin Xue happened by accident, and breaking it now was impossible.
With the Red Snake’s reluctance, Qin Xue didn’t want to bother with it. She figured she’d just let Chu Molin take it on his way to work and throw it out.
At that point, it wouldn’t be able to follow even if it wanted to. Who cares what happens to it afterwards? Whether it lives or dies will be up to its own fate.
It’s not that Qin Xue was heartless; she just wanted to test if, after their contract, the Red Snake really couldn’t leave and would die if it tried.
You could say that because of the Red Snake’s unwillingness, it beca the subject of Qin Xue’s experint. Both of them had their own plans; one thought it would die if it left, so didn’t want to go, while the other wanted to use it for an experint—truly two individuals with their own agendas.
Qin Xue didn’t know what the Red Snake was thinking, nor did she care to know now. She just planned to carry out her plan, and with a solution in mind, Qin Xue decided to take a bath.
"Xue Ling, keep an eye on them. I’m going for a bath," Qin Xue directly ordered her pets away.
"Okay." Xue Ling responded, then started herding the Snow Wolf and the Red Snake to the other side, amusingly noting they were both males.
"Xue Ling, give the Red Snake sothing to make sure it won’t wake up till tomorrow morning. I’ll have Chu Molin take it out and throw it away." Qin Xue communicated with Xue Ling telepathically.
"Seriously? You’re really going through with this." Xue Ling looked back at Qin Xue incredulously, unable to believe she wasn’t afraid of the Red Snake holding a grudge. She was conducting such a heartless act.
"What is there to be afraid of? It doesn’t like anyway, and I don’t like it either. If keeping it around just makes us both unhappy, it’s better to let go. Don’t you agree?"
Qin Xue felt no pang of conscience at all; she could be even more ruthless if she wanted.
