"Okay." Qin Xue thought that if he went along, she could have a bath right away. Otherwise, with him and the kids watching, how could she bathe? Better to let them wander off sowhere.
However, Chu Molin wasn’t aware of Qin Xue’s thoughts, so after entering the space, he took the children and pets with him.
This left Qin Xue alone to rest in the bamboo house, just as she wanted.
"It’s so comfortable to soak here; it’s been so long since I last did this. My whole body is sore from the ride. Babies, you’re not as well-behaved as your brother. Will you be more troubleso after you’re born?" Qin Xue asked, touching her belly while soaking in the water.
But the babies couldn’t answer her, so she could only talk to herself.
Looking at the bamboo in the forest and the bulging spots, Chu Molin decided to dig up so bamboo shoots to make sour bamboo shoots for Qin Xue.
"Dad, why are you digging these?" Yu Chen asked, puzzled as he watched his father dig around the bamboo roots.
"Your mom’s sour bamboo shoots are delicious. I noticed she hasn’t had much of an appetite lately, so I’m digging so up for her to cook, to whet her appetite." Chu Molin replied to his youngest son.
"Mom’s cooking is that good? Then I want to try it too," Yu Chen said. He had never tasted his mother’s sour bamboo shoots before, but after hearing his father’s words, he imagined the scene and couldn’t help but swallow.
He always thought his mother’s cooking was excellent, so he missed it dearly.
These days, they had been eating only what his mother had prepared before or things brought in later, none of which tasted like her homade dishes.
Now hearing his father’s words, he felt his hard days were coming to an end, and the thought cheered him up.
"Yes, it’s delicious," Yu Ze chid in, helping his father collect the bamboo shoots.
"How do you know it’s delicious, big brother? We’ve always been together. How co you know, but I don’t?" Yu Chen was anxious. They were brothers and had never been apart, so how could his brother know sothing he didn’t?
"Because you were asleep," Yu Ze answered, leaving Yu Chen speechless.
"How can that be? You all ate without . Hmph, you don’t love anymore," Yu Chen glared at his brother and father.
"Once we have a little sister, we won’t love you as much, but for now, we still do," Yu Ze replied without hesitation, already used to his brother’s temperant.
To him, since his brother would soday be an older sibling too, it’s only right to be good to his sister, so loving the sister didn’t concern him.
"Alright, I love my sister too," Yu Chen wasn’t upset by this, instead agreeing with his brother.
Xue Ling noticed changes in the space, seemingly because of Qin Xue.
Would the space change again if sothing else happened in the future?
It had been sealed for so long, many things were unfamiliar, and it wasn’t sure what functions might still exist in the space.
But no matter what, it felt that Qin Xue was doing well.
It didn’t think there was anything wrong with Qin Xue’s cautious approach; on the contrary, it felt it was very good.
While so were digging bamboo shoots, Snow Wolf went hunting for bamboo rats, and Red Snake was wandering nearby.
"Alright, let’s go back. Snow Wolf has returned," Xue Ling said, noticing that Chu Molin had nearly finished digging and that Snow Wolf’s return indicated it had caught prey, so they could head back.
Xue Ling also wanted to return soon because, after preparing the food, who knew how long it might take? Now it was considering that by the ti they got back, Qin Xue might have fallen asleep, and who would cook then?
