"Woof, woof," the sound of barking dogs reached their ears as Qin Xue and Chu Molin passed by an alley.
"What’s happening? Why does it sound so miserable?" Qin Xue felt unfortable listening to the cries.
"I’ll go take a look." Chu Molin pulled Qin Xue to the side to stand safely before heading towards the alley.
He initially thought of taking Qin Xue with him, but since he wasn’t sure what was happening there, he decided to have her wait so she wouldn’t get hurt.
This way, if anything happened, she would be safe from harm.
As soon as Qin Xue asked, Chu Molin had already thought of how to handle the situation.
One must say, this man could think quickly, and he always seemed to know what to do as soon as he thought about it.

"It’s injured, how e it has so many wounds?" Qin Xue saw the little puppy in Chu Molin’s arms and wondered what had happened to it to end up like this.
"It’s a stray dog, too small, and got bullied by other dogs." Chu Molin glanced at the little guy in his arms, feeling sorry for it. Such a small creature had been bitten like this; had he been a bit later, it might have been killed.
Initially, he hadn’t planned on bringing it back, but when he put it down, it clung to his pants and wouldn’t let go, so he had no choice but to bring it along.
Bringing it back seemed like a good idea, at least treating its wounds for now. If it wanted to leave afterward, that would be fine; otherwise, leaving it out there, it would just get bullied again and might even die from it.
So the best option was to take it home, which would make handling things much more convenient.
Chu Molin watched his wife’s expression, knowing she didn’t oppose his decision. As long as his wife didn’t object, they would save it. Though it was just a stray dog, it was still a life, wasn’t it?
No matter how you looked at it, bringing it was the next step: "Xue’er, let’s go home. With all these injuries, it needs treatment as soon as we get back, or it might get infected, which would be troublesome." Chu Molin thought if they delayed any longer, that might indeed happen.
"Alright, let’s go home. How did such a little creature end up outside? Those people, really, if you raise it, take care of it properly; if not, then don’t. Raising it and then abandoning it, what’s that about? And in a night full of stray dogs, it’s really something if it can survive." Qin Xue didn’t mention how many dogs there were like this.
But in an era when there wasn’t much food, some dogs were kept at home as guard dogs, or otherwise ended up in someone’s belly. This little guy still being alive was probably because it was too small and had no meat to offer, otherwise, it might already have ended up as someone’s meal acpaniment.
