“Hurry and send these off for cleaning and suturing, and these also need cleansing and to stop the bleeding. And the two particularly severe cases we talked about, where are they?” Qin Xue asked one of the doctors.
“They have been taken to surgery.” The doctor imdiately responded. He thought Qin Xue had just arrived to their hospital since she had been making all the right decisions. He assud she just hadn’t announced her arrival, so he answered her without hesitation.
“What’s the status of those two? Do you know?” Qin Xue asked, as she donned gloves nearby and started washing her hands. After sanitizing, she saw a tray set aside with surgical needles and catgut, picked up a pair of tweezers, and began suturing.
“I’m not exactly sure. The director said those two were particularly severe, so they were rushed off first. We’re busy here taking care of the wounded, so we don’t really know their conditions.” Liao Yifan answered after hearing Qin Xue’s question.
“What kind of traffic accident caused this?” Qin Xue asked while multitasking, understanding that it would be easier to make decisions with a complete picture.
“It seems a bus crashed into a guardrail while trying to avoid a horse that had bolted onto the road.” Liao Yifan also continued suturing while he noticed Qin Xue’s speed and technique with admiration. Dreaming of the day he could possess such skills had him waking up laughing from his dreams. When did this female doctor co to their hospital? Why had he never seen her before?
Liao Yifan looked at Qin Xue’s attire, and realized she wasn’t even wearing the standard doctor’s white coat. Was she really from their hospital? Now Liao Yifan was questioning his initial conclusions.
At their People’s Hospital, not wearing a white coat like Qin Xue was simply unacceptable. Thus, he was really uncertain about Qin Xue’s actual position.
“Did the glass from the accident pierce into any vital parts of the patients who have been taken into surgery?” Qin Xue’s imdiate reaction was this conclusion, otherwise the situation wouldn’t be so dire.
“Yes, that seems to be the case.” Liao Yifan nodded, rembering that he had indeed seen sothing of the sort. However, he wasn’t sure how bad the situation was.
“Okay, now I got it. Let’s work quickly, we have many people to attend to.” Having asked all the necessary questions, Qin Xue inford Liao Yifan and then imrsed herself in the job at hand.
As soon as Qin Xue finished treatnt for two patients, Mr. Mo and his group, who had been observing nearby, went straight to the operating room to assess the situation themselves.
The hospital had two operating rooms. Gong Yuliang went to one, while Mr. Mo and Nangong Susu went to the other.
However, they soon returned, as the injuries were indeed quite severe. One patient had multiple fractures and damaged internal organs, and the other had a brain injury.
“Let’s discuss what might be the best approach here.” Mr. Mo expressed his concern. He didn’t expect to encounter a patient with brain haemorrhage. Such surgery was still rather risky in Hua Country. They hesitated to perform brain surgery unless absolutely certain of its success.
“What do you two think we should do about the patient with the head injury?” Mr. Mo asked Gong Yuliang and Nangong Susu.
“Teacher, no one here dares to handle such operations, and I haven’t perford one myself either,” responded Nangong Susu with resignation. She hadn’t specialized in this field and only knew about it because she had accompanied Mr. Mo to an overseas conference.
“Yuliang, what do you think?” Mr. Mo asked another doctor, not addressing him as the director but simply by na, indicating their close relationship.
