Chapter 862: Chapter 856 Tuberculosis_1
Da Lang glanced at Qin Xue, realizing that she genuinely wanted to help him and his mother, he thought for a mont before nodding in agreent.
“All right, I promise you, I won’t hesitate when the ti cos.” Da Lang agreed to Qin Xue’s invitation with a nod. This woman was willing to help treat his mom’s illness and now even offered him a job – for this alone, she was a benefactor to their family. If not her, whom else could he help?
“Then take good care of your mother. I’m heading back. If there’s anything, co find . I live at XX Lane number XX. Oh, and my na is Qin Xue,” Qin Xue almost forgot to introduce herself.
“All right, my na is Wu Tianci, everyone calls Da Lang.” The na Wu Tianci bears a story – his parents, after many fruitless years of marriage, one day found a baby at their doorstep. Ecstatic, they scooped the baby into their ho, stating it was a gift from the heavens to shoo away their pitiful state of affairs. Hence, they nad him “Tianci”, which translates to “Heaven-given”. Since then, he has been known as Wu Tianci.
“What a nice na. See you later,” Qin Xue chuckled after hearing his na. She thought it was a good thing he wasn’t called Wu Dalang (the martial arts master), otherwise, she’d think he was about to marry a woman nad Pan Jinlian.
“Goodbye.” Wu Tianci watched Qin Xue until she was out of sight before turning back to his mother.
“Is that girl really a military wife, Da Lang?” Da Lang’s mother asked her son.
“Mom, of course she is, do you think I am the type to joke about such things?” Wu Tianci looked at his mother helplessly. Was she still not convinced?
“What a pity. Such a pretty girl. If she wasn’t married, how perfect would it be if she could be with you,” Da Lang’s mother still had a high opinion of Qin Xue.
“Mom, please don’t say such things again. Her husband is a soldier, she’s married and has kids. You know how tough being a military wife is, we can’t add chaos to her life or disrupt her marriage, right?” Wu Tianci cast a sowhat amusing look at his mother. She really wasn’t giving up, was she?
“Mom knows, mom’s only speaking her mind. Did that girl say if your mom’s illness can be cured?” Da Lang’s mother had only seen Qin Xue hand her son a piece of paper and say a few words, but she didn’t ntion whether or not she could be cured.
“Mom, rest assured. Sister-in-law said as long as you rest well, don’t overthink, and take your dicine regularly, you’ll be fine. But she said the dicine might not taste good, so will you promise to eat it?” Wu Tianci looked at his mother; she had a unique dislike for Chinese dicine. The prescription Qin Xue had handed over wasn’t Chinese dicine, but when mixed with ginger and garlic, it didn’t seem like it would taste good either. Hence, he wanted to remind her to bear with it.
“I know, I’m not a child anymore. Just do your stuff without such fuss!” Da Lang’s mom stared at her overly-concerned son. It was her illness that was causing him troubles. Hadn’t it been for that, he’d still have been leading his preferred military life. No need to attend to an old woman like her or worrying about her refusing to take dicine. She was indeed fortunate to have such a son.
On her way ho, Qin Xue stopped by the market to buy two chickens and two pork bellies, along with so other ingredients. She planned to make stuffed pork belly with chicken. One dish for them to enjoy and the other for Chu Molin, who she hadn’t had ti to cook for since returning due to having to deal with Qing Teng’s issue.
With ti at her disposal now, Qin Xue decided to cook whatever she felt like. Once busy, she might not have the ti even if she wanted to prepare sothing. Carrying the groceries she had purchased, she headed ho with the idea to cook early and drop the food at Chu Molin’s before it got late. Besides, she wanted to be at ho to put her child to bed.
