[You have slain the World Boss, Firegod’s Chosen (Level 40). You have obtained EXP 4,000, Gold Coins 40, and Reputation 400!]
[Lucky Drop triggered. You have picked up the S-Rank item, "Heart of Purity"!]
John looked at the heart in his hand. It was crystalline and translucent, resembling a flawless crystal. A soft, warm glow emanated from it, as though it could cleanse all the filth and corruption in the world.
A look of emotion appeared on his face.
"To think that such a filthy Chosen would drop a Heart of Purity. How ironic."
He activated Detection and inspected it.
The attributes of the Heart of Purity imdiately appeared before his eyes, lines of text clearly surfacing across a semitransparent screen.
[Heart of Purity]
[Effect]: Upon use, grants immunity to all curse-type effects for 24 hours.
[Remark]: This is a consumable item. It will disappear after use!
...
"Not bad. This is a useful item."
Immunity to all curses—this effect alone made it worthy of being S-Rank.
John carefully stored it away. Then, facing the corpse before him, he selected Devour.
[You have devoured Firegod’s Chosen (Level 40). You have obtained 4,000 free Attribute Points, Divinity ×13, and Luck Points 40!]
[You have obtained the S-Rank skill, Mana Reflux!]
[You have obtained the A-Rank skill, Wrath of Flas!]
"Hm? It actually dropped Divinity?"
A trace of surprise appeared in John’s eyes as his brows rose slightly.
Divinity was a special type of Attribute Point specifically used to upgrade divine-grade items.
Normally, only midga bosses had a chance of dropping it. He had never expected to obtain it at such an early stage of the ga.
Afterward, John shifted his gaze toward the two skills he had just acquired, their status panels reflected in his pupils.
[Mana Reflux]
[Effect]: After activation, restores 15% of the user’s maximum MP every second for 30 seconds.
[Cooldown]: 60 seconds
...
An S-Rank mana-regeneration skill. Its effect was quite good.
At the very least, John would never have to worry about running out of mana again.
Imdiately afterward, he turned his attention to the remaining A-Rank skill.
The mont he clearly saw the information displayed on its panel, he froze. Even his breathing faltered slightly.
[Wrath of Flas]
Rank: SSS — Enhanced by the Heart of the Fire God
[Effect]: Centered on the user, causes a massive fiery explosion that strikes all units within a radius of one kiloter. Total damage dealt is equal to current Intelligence ×200%!
...
John was instantly astonished.
He had never expected the Heart of the Fire God to possess the hidden effect of strengthening fire-type skills. It was as though a concealed gift had suddenly unveiled itself before him.
This skill had originally only been A-Rank. Yet after receiving the enhancent, it had directly risen to SSS-Rank.
This was truly an unexpected delight.
John looked down at the ring on his hand. The gemstone embedded in its band pulsed with a faint crimson glow.
"The ring’s fire skill wasn’t enhanced. I suppose that’s because it’s an equipnt skill."
Just then, the sound of a world announcent rang out, its grand and majestic notification echoing beside every player’s ears.
[World Announcent: Congratulations to Player "Outlander" of Starter Village No. 616 for slaying the World Boss, "Firegod’s Chosen" (Level 40), and obtaining Reputation 4,000, EXP 4,000, and Gold Coins 40!]
Upon hearing the world announcent, countless players froze in place. So even stopped attacking the monsters in front of them, their faces filled with shock.
Outlander again!
And this ti, he had actually slain a Level 40 World Boss!
Just where had this guy found a monster of such a level? More importantly, how could he possibly possess such terrifying combat power while he was still in the beginner stage of the ga?
That was a Level 40 boss!
Even a top guild would probably need to mobilize its entire force just to stand a chance of taking one down, right?
Yet he had actually soloed it?
He was inhuman!
...
Blightwarren.
John looked at the flesh-born creatures throughout the village, their agonized wails echoing constantly through the air. Their twisted forms squird through the mud while their intermittent groans of pain lingered all around him.
Every one of these people had once been a scholar.
Yet now, they could only endure endless tornt in this place.
"Forget it. I’ll grant you release."
After thinking for a mont, John gave a quiet sigh and activated Wrath of Flas.
All of a sudden, a dazzling crimson light began condensing before his chest. The light rapidly expanded, radiating a devastatingly intense heat.
BOOM!!!
With John at its epicenter, a terrifying fiery explosion engulfed everything within a one-kiloter radius!
The entire village was vaporized cleanly in an instant. Even the pools of blood covering the ground ceased to exist.
The scale of the explosion was so trendous that the sky itself was illuminated for a fleeting instant, becoming as radiant as broad daylight. Even the clouds were dyed a blazing scarlet, as though the heavens had caught fire.
...
Inside the castle.
Nurous NPCs and players noticed the deafening explosion and abnormal phenonon coming from the distant sky. Startled, they all raised their heads and stared toward the horizon.
Fear appeared across their faces as they began talking among themselves.
"Don’t tell the end of the world is coming! How can sothing be that terrifying?!"
"What happened over there? Even the sky has been dyed red!"
"Isn’t that direction where Blightwarren is located? Could so kind of monster be erging over there?"
"What a terrifying fire-elent aura! I can’t even imagine how many living creatures could possibly survive inside that explosion zone!"
The might unleashed by the explosion was simply too imnse. Even the NPCs and players inside the castle had been alard by it, and many subconsciously tightened their grips on their weapons.
...
John surveyed his surroundings.
The entire village had ceased to exist.
All that remained around him were enormous expanses of scorched earth. The air was unbearably hot, and surging waves of heat distorted the light, causing even the distant scenery to shimr and sway.
That single use of Wrath of Flas had directly consud half of his MP.
Fortunately, the result was remarkable. Its effect was worthy of an expenditure on such a scale.
At the very least, that attack had freed those deford masses of flesh from their suffering.
Hopefully, their souls could now rest in peace.
John withdrew his gaze and checked the ti.
It was only just past eleven o’clock. There was still plenty of ti left. He could continue clearing the other quest dungeons.
Whoosh!
John’s figure flashed and disappeared from where he stood.
All that remained behind was a wasteland of scorched earth filled with searing heat.
...
Only a little over ten minutes after John left, a crowd of NPCs and players arrived at the scene, following the source of the sound.
Their footsteps were disorderly, mixed with uneasy whispers of bewildernt and suspicion.
"This is the place."
"Wasn’t this area originally Blightwarren? Why can’t I see any of those patients from before?"
"Why is the temperature in this entire area so high?!"
However, when they saw that nothing remained upon the ground except scorched earth, everyone stood there dumbfounded.
Just what in the world had happened here?!
Amid their shock and fear, many of them sighed and shook their heads regretfully.
"What a pity. We were still one step too late. We couldn’t find the person who released this power."
"To possess power on this scale, that person definitely cannot be ordinary!"
"Thankfully, this terrifying force wasn’t unleashed inside the castle. Otherwise, we probably would have all been caught up in it."
Compared to the NPCs, the players had already begun to suspect who had created such a terrifying display of power. They leaned close to one another and began whispering among themselves.
"Don’t tell this was Outlander again?"
"That’s very possible. At this point, he’s probably the only one who possesses such horrifying power."
"Unbelievable. Soone like that is actually still staying in the Starter Village."
"Comparing yourself to others really is enough to make you die of frustration!"
