Mr. Caelus told the Suttons that a period of extre cold, snow, and global freezing was coming. He had them sell their villa and move into The tropolis Residences.
Mr. and Mrs. Sutton had originally planned to move into a high-rise apartnt in the city center. They couldn’t afford The Nimbus Hotel anymore, but renting in the city center was still within their ans.
After hearing Mr. Caelus’s advice, they gave up on moving to the city center. Instead, they bought a place in The tropolis Residences and moved in.
Standing to the side, Mr. Sutton watched coldly as Mrs. Sutton comforted Ethan Sutton, feeling anger well up inside him.
Mr. Sutton simply couldn’t stand the sight of Ethan sobbing like this. He found it exceptionally jarring.
He felt that Ethan was completely unable to control his emotions now. He would break down and wail from ti to ti, and he cowered in front of others—not at all like a man! It was a complete waste of all the years the Sutton Family had spent painstakingly grooming him as their heir!
Mr. Sutton had also been under imnse pressure lately. He used to have two sons he was proud of!
But in less than a year, his younger son, Elias Sutton, had died, and his older son, Ethan Sutton, was ruined.
Seeing the Sutton family line about to end with his generation, Mr. Sutton was so distressed he felt like he could vomit blood. If this continued, how could he possibly face the Sutton ancestors?!
The re thought of it was infuriating. Mr. Sutton took a deep breath and said grimly to Ethan, "That’s enough! Stop crying! Look at the state you’re in!"
Hearing his father’s words, the pain in Ethan Sutton’s heart intensified.
Ethan could feel that his current state was a huge disappointnt to his father.
’I don’t want to be like this, either. I want to move on from this dark Chapter and look forward, but I just can’t control my emotions!’
So, he could only bite his lip hard, forcing himself not to cry out loud. His body began to tremble uncontrollably, and his face gradually flushed crimson.
Seeing Ethan beco even more upset because of his father’s scolding, Mrs. Sutton wouldn’t stand for it.
She looked up and complained to Mr. Sutton, "Why are you scolding our son! That wretched girl from the Lancaster family and that old hag from across the hall—didn’t you see them ganging up on our son?"
"Is taking it out on our son all you know how to do? Why didn’t you teach those two a lesson? Our son is pitiful enough as it is. It’s one thing if you won’t help him, but how can you bla him?!"
Upon hearing this, Mr. Sutton’s expression grew even darker.
Of course, he hated that lody Sumrs too!
If lody Sumrs hadn’t refused to marry Ethan Sutton, Sylvia Lancaster would never have married into the Sutton Family.
If Sylvia Lancaster hadn’t married into the Sutton Family, Raymond Hayes would never have gone after Ethan Sutton, and none of this would have happened!
lody Sumrs was practically the "source of all evil"!
At this thought, flas of fury seed to burn in Mr. Sutton’s eyes.
He snorted and said through clenched teeth, "She’s just a little brat, isn’t she? Dealing with her won’t be hard. Since she doesn’t know what’s good for her, we’ll find a way to kick her and her whole family out of this complex!"
******
lody Sumrs left Mrs. Vance’s apartnt, walking and wondering, ’Where exactly did things go wrong?’
The Sutton Family may have been a bankrupt wealthy family, but as the saying goes, a starved cal is still bigger than a horse.
Why would they move to the remote tropolis Residences instead of going to the city center or near the municipal governnt?
The overall security at The tropolis Residences was decent, but the best places for overall security and resource supply were still those few exclusive complexes in the city center.
It was really strange that the Sutton Family chose to move here...
On top of that, what was even stranger was Ethan Sutton’s condition.
In her past life, Ethan Sutton had often incited his lackeys to bully lody Sumrs.
In this life, although lody had only t Ethan a few tis, he had always acted like an arrogant rich kid—nose in the air, constantly and confidently imagining he was exuding irresistible pheromones.
The last ti they spoke on the phone, Ethan had even told lody to be his mistress and go to the Sutton residence to "serve" him.
So how did he suddenly transform into this demure, reford gigolo today?
Utterly bewildered, lody Sumrs walked ho. When she opened the door, she was surprised to see Sophie Thorne sitting on the living room sofa.
Seeing her, lody walked over and asked in surprise, "It’s so cold outside. What are you doing here?"
lody had been busy with her hasty move and hadn’t contacted Sophie for several days.
Sophie smiled and replied, "The sun actually ca out today, which is rare. I brought a few things and ca to see you all."
The two chatted for a bit, and lody learned that Sophie and her family had moved into The Nimbus Hotel.
Most of the city’s wealthy had moved to The Nimbus Hotel by now. The hotel had stockpiled a massive amount of supplies, offered a full range of food and entertainnt, and even had its own heating system. It had essentially beco a large-scale shelter.
Sophie then asked, "Are you guys settling in okay here? Do you need to move sowhere else?"
Sophie was thinking, ’If the Sumrs Family needs it, I’ll arrange a suite for them at The Nimbus Hotel.’
lody shook her head. "Everything’s fine on our end. It’s nice living here. You don’t have to worry."
Compared to living in a hotel and depending on it for three als a day and heating, lody felt it was more comfortable and safer to live in her own ho.
Thinking about her encounter with Ethan Sutton’s family earlier, lody complained to Sophie, "You rember Ethan Sutton, right? His family must have lost their minds or sothing, because they actually moved here too! And they just so happen to be right downstairs from ."
Sophie was taken aback. "Ethan Sutton? His family moved in downstairs from you?"
lody nodded. "Yeah, I just ran into them downstairs. They just moved in today. And that Ethan Sutton... I don’t know what set him off, but I just glanced at him and he covered his face and ran away."
Hearing this, Sophie’s expression turned a little strange for so reason.
She pursed her lips and said hesitantly, "...You probably don’t know yet, but sothing happened to the Sutton family a while ago. Ethan Sutton was caught and beaten up by Raymond Hayes, the eldest son of the Hayes Family. Raymond also... him..."
Sophie stopped abruptly, her expression awkward and hesitant, as if she didn’t know how to continue.
Seeing Sophie’s expression, lody was completely confused. She quickly grabbed Sophie’s hand and pressed, "Raymond Hayes? Wasn’t he already executed by firing squad? What did he do to Ethan Sutton?"
Sophie answered with so difficulty, "Raymond Hayes had his n castrate Ethan Sutton. Word is... they were very thorough. Nothing was left..."
lody: "..."
lody: "Huh??"
Ethan Sutton.
By Raymond Hayes.
Was castrated?!?!
Seeing lody’s shocked expression, Sophie continued, "A while ago, Ethan Sutton’s mother, Mrs. Sutton, went to Rhodes Enterprises to report an employee, Simon Lancaster, for interfering in soone else’s marriage."
"Rhodes Enterprises followed the thread and investigated. They found that Mrs. Sutton had previously filed a police report, accusing Raymond Hayes of gang assault and injuring her son with a knife."
"Later, they investigated the hospital and found that Ethan Sutton’s dical records stated that his genitals were completely severed."
lody: "..."
lody: "What?!?!"
In truth, Sophie’s words were only half-true; she was hiding part of the story.
The truth was, ever since he began to suspect that his uncle, Roman Rhodes, had taken a liking to lody Sumrs, Ronan Rhodes had beco exceptionally invested in her affairs, as if she were so kind of new species.
Because Simon Lancaster was lody’s biological older brother, after learning about Mrs. Sutton’s complaint, Ronan Rhodes had specifically sent soone to look into the matter between Simon Lancaster and Ethan Sutton.
There were no secrets in their circle. Besides, Ethan Sutton’s injury was so unusual that it had shocked the entire hospital when he was brought in. A little digging was all it took to find out what had happened!
