When Supervisor Walsh saw Zara Walsh arrive, he was instantly overjoyed.
He quickly pointed at lody Sumrs and Lucy White, saying, "Zara, these two have so nerve, daring to cause trouble here! You have to help teach them a lesson!"
Zara Walsh glanced at Supervisor Walsh and ntally rolled her eyes.
This Supervisor Walsh was a distant relative on her father’s side. He was an incompetent fool, but he’d gotten incredibly lucky and married a good wife.
His wife was from the Rhodes Family, part of the sa generation as Mr. Rhodes’s nieces. While not a direct niece, she was at least a familiar face to Mr. Rhodes.
Supervisor Walsh leveraged his father-in-law’s good relationship with Mr. Rhodes to land a minor managent position at Rhodes.
Even if Zara didn’t want to bother with this relative, she had to do it for his wife’s sake.
So she said, "Don’t worry, Uncle. I heard everything."
She then turned to lody Sumrs and Lucy White, speaking with a condescending air. "You two. Delete that recording, then get on your knees and apologize to my uncle. Do that, and I’ll let you go. Otherwise..."
Zara flicked a lock of her curly hair, her eyes narrowing as she said coldly, "Otherwise, I guarantee you won’t even know how you died!"
Hearing Zara’s threat, lody Sumrs just scoffed. "Zara Walsh, are you delusional?"
’Running into Zara here is just my bad luck,’ lody thought. Mimicking Zara’s tone, she said, "How about the three of you get on your knees, bow your heads, and beg properly? If you do, maybe I’ll be rciful and delete the video."
Hearing such a blatant provocation, Zara felt a wave of fury surge through her.
No one had ever dared to speak to her like that!
Zara clenched her fists. Looking at lody’s defiant expression, she was itching to slap her across the face.
But before she could move, Supervisor Walsh jumped in, pointing a finger at lody’s nose. "You little bitch! How dare you talk like that? Have you grown a death wish?!"
"I rember you’re Warren’s neighbor, aren’t you? Let tell you sothing. The energy supply for your entire district in the north... is under the control of the Miss Walsh standing right in front of you!"
lody froze, blurting out, "What did you say?!"
Seeing lody’s blank, shocked expression, Supervisor Walsh assud she was terrified. He gloated, "With a single word from Miss Walsh, she can cut off the supplies to your complex and let every single person there freeze to death!"
lody’s eyes widened slightly. ’The energy supply for The tropolis Residences is actually Zara Walsh’s responsibility?’
Before lody could process this, Supervisor Walsh continued, "Get on your knees now, beg for forgiveness, and hand over your phone. If you do, we might let you off the hook. Otherwise... when the blizzard hits in a few days, you can just wait to freeze to death!"
Having said his piece, Supervisor Walsh stared at lody with a smug look on his face, waiting for her to get on her knees and beg.
lody, however, stared intently at the mocking smile on Zara’s face. In that instant, she felt like she’d found the answer.
lody stared into Zara’s eyes, her face cold as she asked, enunciating every word, "Zara Walsh. There’s a shipnt of coal for The tropolis Residences that was never delivered... Did you withhold it?"
Faced with lody’s icy gaze, Zara rely scoffed.
She fiddled with her long, manicured nails, saying nonchalantly, "So what if it was ? Who told you to be so bold as to seduce my brother? It’s only right that I teach you a little lesson, don’t you think?"
lody’s breath caught in her throat. ’It really was Zara! How could she actually do sothing like withholding vital supplies!’
Zara saw the fury flaring in lody’s eyes and snorted. "I thought losing the coal would teach you to behave, to tuck your tail between your legs and learn your place. I didn’t expect you’d still dare to make a scene in front of . Let tell you, for a powerless little bitch like you, I have a million ways to deal with you!"
Hearing this, lody couldn’t hold back any longer. Furious, she snapped, "Zara Walsh, do you have any idea what’s going on right now? All those people in The tropolis Residences are counting on that coal to survive, and you’re holding it back for such a pathetic reason?! You have a reckless disregard for human life!"
Zara’s actions had crossed a line for lody. She had thought Zara was rely arrogant and looked down on everyone; she never imagined she could do sothing so callous, completely disregarding whether people lived or died.
Hearing lody’s accusation, Zara snorted disdainfully. "So what? You all deserve it. Who’s to bla but yourselves for being so powerless? Besides, this is all your fault for seducing my brother! If the people in your complex freeze to death, then you’re the one who killed them!"
Zara’s absurd justification sent a fresh wave of rage spreading through lody’s chest. This involved the lives of every resident in The tropolis Residences. Zara’s actions were both foolish and vicious.
’First,’ lody thought, ’I’ll report Zara to the authorities. If they can’t give a satisfactory response, then I’ll take matters into my own hands and use my spatial ability to eliminate her.’
’After all, Zara’s behavior right now is no different from the likes of Flynn Adler. They both use their power to do whatever they want, with a reckless disregard for human life!’
A storm was brewing in lody’s eyes. She stared at Zara and said coldly, "You just wait. I am not letting this go."
Hearing lody’s words, the mocking smile on Zara’s face vanished.
She was the great Miss Walsh, an heiress from a powerful family. In these chaotic tis, crushing a commoner like lody should be as easy as squashing an ant.
What right did lody have to speak to her in that tone?
Who gave her the nerve?!
Zara gritted her teeth and stared at lody. "You wretched girl, who the hell do you think you are? Do you really think attending a few high-society banquets makes you one of them?"
"Your family has no real capital. What right do you have to speak to in that tone? Don’t tell you think that little villa of yours in the suburbs makes you the daughter of so wealthy family, do you?"
Seeing Zara’s anger, lody, by contrast, grew calm. As she ntally formulated a plan to report Zara, she replied, "It doesn’t matter who I am. It gives you no excuse to abuse your power and treat human life as worthless. I will report you to the authorities, and I will make you pay for what you’ve done."
At this, Zara actually burst out laughing.
She took a few steps in her high heels until she was looming over lody, and said with a sneer, "Report ? You? In tis like these, who do you think is going to listen to you?"
"There are supply shortages everywhere. The complaint boxes are overflowing with letters every single day. Do you know how many of those actually lead to anything?"
"You little bitch, you’ve lived to your twenties and you still don’t understand how the world works? People like you are nothing but fuel for the elite. You think your little report will actually do sothing? In your dreams!"
lody said calmly, "Then you’d better pray my report works. Otherwise... I’ll solve this problem my own way."
’If reporting her didn’t solve the problem, lody would simply eliminate the person who created it.’
Zara reacted as if she’d heard the funniest joke in the world. She let out another laugh, then stared at lody and sneered, "Your own way? You an getting soone else to fight your battles for you?"
"Who’s your backer? Sophie Thorne? HAHAHA, don’t make laugh! Do you really think she’d turn against the Walshs for soone like you?"
"lody Sumrs, let spell it out for you. My aunt is going to marry Roman Rhodes, sooner or later. When that happens, she’ll be the rightful lady of the Rhodes Family! Roman’s side is the main branch of the family. Do you really think Sophie Thorne would risk offending my aunt for a nobody like you?!"
