With the blizzard raging outside, Gene Young couldn’t take the won out for "house calls" anymore, so he and his wife no longer wanted to waste food on them.
The couple figured that since they had bought the won cheaply from traffickers anyway, it was better to just buy a new batch after the weather ward up rather than keep feeding them until the blizzard ended.
