Qi Wen shook her head with a smile, "I’m not leaving, Lawyer Zhang has so matters to discuss with ."
Qi Yan and his brother greeted He Yuanhao as well.
Qi Wen looked at Li Liyun, who was winking at her, "Aunt Xiao Yun, congratulations."
Li Liyun’s face turned red with anxiety, especially with the boss nearby.
"Aunt Xiao Yun." The two brothers also greeted her.
Li Liyun responded with a smile.
"Qi Wen, have you been here all along?"
"Yes, my mom is about to give birth to my little brother, so of course, I’m here waiting."
"Where are you having lunch? Can I co find you?"
"Co to my mom’s office to find ."
"Alright, I’ll get back to work now."
Listening to his young secretary’s excited voice, He Yuanhao suddenly realized he had never felt such passion himself. It was a bit of a failure. Was this what being young was like? Why did he never feel young?
So during lunch, he said, "Secretary Li, you go ahead."
Li Liyun looked at He Yuanhao with surprise and excitent, "Thank you, boss."
When she arrived, the family of three was having lunch, and Su Yuanyuan had already finished eating.
"Have you eaten? There’s an extra portion here."
"No, today Minister He heard say I was looking for Qi Wen, so he let co over. I didn’t even have ti to go back and get my lunch."
She didn’t stand on ceremony and sat next to Qi Wen to eat.
"I only have half an hour."
The family of three just watched her eat.
Still, she didn’t forget to talk.
"Aunt Xiao Yun, is your work very busy?"
Li Liyun sighed exaggeratedly, "I used to think I was particularly capable at work here. Now I realize it was exchanged with hard work.
Sister Yuanyuan, is it the sa for you? I’ve never seen Minister He have personal ti; even after eating, he doesn’t rest."
Su Yuanyuan nodded, "It’s the sa for . Where in the world can you get rewards without effort? If you want to achieve results, you have to pay the price."
Li Liyun chuckled, "Sister Yuanyuan, honestly, I’m not very ambitious. Knowing I’m not that capable, I just focus on doing my job well. But rest assured, I’ll work hard."
Su Yuanyuan nodded, "As long as you know what you want in the future, that’s good.
Oh, and since you and Minister He are of different genders, be sure to pay attention."
Li Liyun felt a bit awkward but decided to be open about her thoughts. "Sister Yuanyuan, I understand. I realize the implications, and I will be cautious."
"That’s good. After all, you are a young woman."
Qi Wen quickly changed the topic, "Aunt Xiao Yun, do you get very few holidays too?"
"Yes, I get just two days off a month. But that’s okay; I can take two shifts together and spend more ti with my grandpa at ho."
"I’ll be around for a while, so if you need anything, just look for ."
"What would I need? I’m in etings with Minister He all day, and the rest of the ti, I’m reviewing translated docunts for a second check."
"Be ticulous, and don’t completely trust others.
Xiao Yun, we should never have harmful intentions, but we definitely cannot leave things to chance, trusting just anyone," Su Yuanyuan advised.
Li Liyun looked questioningly at Su Yuanyuan, "Sister Yuanyuan, is it really that serious?"
Su Yuanyuan nodded, "It is. You’ll understand after so ti."
Seeing Li Liyun’s slightly fearful expression, Qi Wen found it quite amusing.
After finishing her al, she left.
In the afternoon, Qi Wen did visit Lawyer Zhang. There was a case they were working on, which was private. It was a friend of Lawyer Zhang’s, and though he was skeptical, he believed his friend was definitely innocent.
That’s why he contacted Qi Wen. Now, they were studying that country’s laws, but to be honest, it didn’t look optimistic.
"Qi Wen, could I ask you to take a trip?"
Qi Wen shook her head, "Lawyer Zhang, these next two months I’m not going anywhere; my mom is about to give birth.
Actually, just proceed from the angle we’ve been researching. There’s nothing else that can be done anyway."
Lawyer Zhang sighed, "Yeah, I know, I have to apply for leave now. We’ve been friends for years, and I absolutely trust him."
After work, the family of three went ho, and Chengzi returned to his place.
Li Xiaoyu was making dinner, and Chengzi gazed at his wife’s back, lost in thought.
Li Xiaoyu turned around and caught him, "What’s the matter with you?"
Chengzi smiled, "Nothing, I just think the back view of you cooking is very nice."
Li Xiaoyu laughed, "Really?"
"Yes, really."
"Is sothing on your mind?"
Chengzi couldn’t hide anything from his relatives, so he stood behind Li Xiaoyu, hugging her waist, his hands rubbing her belly.
"It’s just that these days, knowing that Daqing and Da Biao are both going to be fathers, today seeing your back, I suddenly thought of our future child."
Li Xiaoyu was a bit taken aback. She turned her head, "I hadn’t even noticed."
"It’s okay, we’ll wait. The child who is ant to be with us hasn’t co yet."
Li Xiaoyu thought about it and realized she hadn’t had her period this month either. But there were no signs, unlike her three sisters-in-law during their pregnancies.
"Xiao Yu, Xiao Yu, what are you thinking?"
Li Xiaoyu saw the vegetables about to burn and quickly stirred them, "Nothing, nothing. Go toast the buns, the dishes will be ready soon."
"Buns?"
"My second sister-in-law brought them over. My mom stead them for us, worried that we wouldn’t have ti to cook."
Really, it was just a mother feeling sorry for her daughter, knowing the couple were both tired from work. Bringing food that could be stored for later was thoughtful.
The next day at noon, Li Xiaoyu went to the hospital.
She wanted to make her husband happy. Knowing he was an orphan, she wanted her own family.
At the hospital, she bumped into Hu Zi and also saw Feng Shanshan. She saw the two exiting the hospital.
Hu Zi was about the sa age as Chengzi, so he called Li Xiaoyu "sister-in-law, why are you at the hospital?"
"I’m just here to find soone. What brings you two here?" She guessed Feng Shanshan might be pregnant because she looked quite unwell.
"Shanshan wasn’t feeling well, so we ca for a check-up."
"Is it serious?"
Feng Shanshan smiled, "It’s nothing. Just so stomach discomfort."
The doctor suspected she might be pregnant, but couldn’t confirm it, so they didn’t ntion it. It would be embarrassing if she wasn’t.
Li Xiaoyu roughly understood, "Take care then. You two better head ho and rest; Shanshan doesn’t look well."
Li Xiaoyu didn’t ntion her own appointnt with the doctor, mainly because she’d be embarrassed if it turned out she wasn’t pregnant.
The old doctor checked her pulse. "It’s too early to tell now, co back later for another check."
Li Xiaoyu felt a bit awkward, but luckily she hadn’t told anyone else. Otherwise, it would’ve been embarrassing.
