Seth Warren watched the impassioned Shauna Wallace and swallowed hard. Beside him, Morgan Sterling’s lips curved into a smirk as he patted Seth’s shoulder.
"I heard you had a soft spot for Shauna Wallace, Seth. So, I had my n ’invite’ her over. I wonder, are you pleased with this little gift?"
Seth Warren licked his lips, his eyes taking on a predatory hunger. Inside, however, he was scoffing silently.
’Invite? You tie a woman to a bed like this, drug her with an aphrodisiac, and you call that an "invitation"?’
On the bed, Shauna Wallace was a picture of raw allure, her figure enchanting. "Pleased? Of course, I’m pleased!"
"Well, well, little beauty. You ended up in my hands after all," Seth Warren said smugly, his gaze fixed on Shauna Wallace’s writhing body. He listened as, despite being drugged, she continued to mutter, "Bastard! Let go!"
"Then I won’t disturb you any longer, Seth," Morgan Sterling said, closing the door tightly behind him as he left the room.
"Chester, keep a close watch on them for ."
Chester Sawyer asked with a strange expression, "Chief, Seth Warren has the beauty in his arms. Why do we still need to watch him?"
"Do you really think Seth Warren would genuinely surrender to for a single woman?"
Chester Sawyer’s eyes flickered again. "But I think that as long as he accepts this favor from you, Chief, he’ll still help us when we go to breach that secret location!"
The two of them spoke outside the door, listening to the sounds coming from within.

"Let’s go. I always have to think one step ahead. This Shauna Wallace is too stubborn. To get her help, you must first destroy the strongest part of a woman’s will."
Chester Sawyer followed behind Morgan Sterling. "Shauna Wallace isn’t just a rare Healing System superpower user, she’s also gorgeous and alluring. Chief, why didn’t you...?"
"Heh, you’re not wrong. But if I can trade one woman for Seth Warren’s allegiance... whether it works or not, it’s always worth a try."
As Morgan Sterling spoke, the image of a slender, ethereally beautiful woman sohow surfaced in his mind. She didn’t look very old, but her pretty face was captivating, brimming with Spiritual Energy.
Most importantly, this young woman, Flora Bloom, had a way of suddenly popping into his head for no reason. He wasn’t even sure if it was because he feared she hadn’t died and would return to beco his enemy after learning what he’d done, or if it was for so other reason.
The image just wouldn’t leave him.
’No matter. Even if she didn’t die and cos back, as long as she wants it, he can give her anything—including himself. With his current power, he figured she wouldn’t refuse!’
’Besides, so what if she refuses? He holds her closest loved ones as leverage. To obtain her, using a few tricks is no big deal.’
Hearing the footsteps of the two n outside growing distant, Seth Warren took a deep breath and abruptly rolled off Shauna Wallace.
’He did like Shauna Wallace. She was beautiful; in an apocalypse like this, what man wouldn’t be drawn to such a great beauty? Not to ntion her innate, captivating allure that made you want to get close, and that icy deanor that made him itch to shatter it.’
’All of it stoked the beast within him, making him want to devour her whole.’
’But, if she was a gift from Morgan Sterling... that was another matter entirely.’
He sat on the edge of the bed by Shauna Wallace and whispered in her ear, "Tell , how did he capture you?"
"I..." PANT, PANT, PANT. Shauna Wallace was too weak to struggle. She had already thought she was truly going to fall into the hands of these bastards this ti.
But Seth Warren’s words falling on her ears were like a splash of cool water, granting her a mont of clarity.
Shauna Wallace didn’t know what drug she’d been given. Her eyes had lost their focus, and she was panting heavily as she spoke.
"To keep him from getting suspicious, keep making noise. But tell , how can I help you?"
"Help... help es... escape!"

anwhile, the other eight special forces operatives under Lex Cross, who had been stationed in the villa district, had set off for Morhaven Civil Airport a day earlier after receiving a satellite transmission from Five.
They did their best to avoid the main hall where zombies congregated around the check-in counters, instead taking a military access tunnel to the tarmac. After checking the condition of one of the passenger jets, they took off and flew toward the coordinates Five had sent them.
The eight n arrived and began circling over the open sea. Below them, Five, The Crown Prince, and a man called Tanuki were on a yacht, conferring with three other people. One of these three, however, was dragging a long, enormous snake tail.
On the plane, Theo Dunn, who possessed the Light Ability, remained behind to pilot the aircraft and circle overhead. The other seven found a rope ladder and climbed down one after another, jumping onto the yacht.
"What’s the situation? Where’s the Boss?" Nolan Jennings, the first one down, asked as he looked at Tanuki and The Crown Prince.
"Didn’t the Boss assign you to stay with his girl? What the hell is going on?"
But when Five saw that all eight of them had arrived, his brow furrowed.
"Didn’t I tell you to leave two n at the base? Why did all of you co?"
"The Boss is missing! How could you expect us to just sit around? The base is protected by that swarm of bees. No one would dare enter the villa district. It’s perfectly safe!"
Gentry, who had just jumped down, added, "We’re not bodyguards for those people! Of course, finding the Boss is more important!"
At that mont, Five looked at the eight n who had landed on the deck and felt a growing unease. He had seen for himself how much the Boss valued Flora Bloom. Especially in that mont when a huge, mysterious tentacle dragged Flora Bloom into the sea, the Boss had completely disregarded his own safety, leaping into the vortex after her without a second thought.
’This wasn’t their interstellar ho. Here, all of them, especially the Boss, had their original strength suppressed by the rules of this world. If they encountered a monster that was far beyond their current power, death would be permanent!’
’He even found himself blaming Flora Bloom a little for leading the Boss into such danger.’
"Since you’re here, finding them is the priority!"
"How do we find them? This ocean vortex is very strange. It has split this part of the sea into two sections. One side is normal seawater. On the other... look. All the converging currents, with their different speeds and temperatures, are gathering over there," said The Crown Prince, frowning as he analyzed the situation.
"The current at the center of the vortex is too fast. We can’t get in at all!"
"Sigh, if only I could recover my original strength! Even just a third of it would be enough to freeze this entire area of the sea. The vortex is caused by currents of different speeds and temperatures converging. Once the temperature drops to its absolute lowest, it will stop. Then we’d have a chance to go into the water."
The one who spoke was one of the special forces operatives, Charles Aldridge. His Ice Ability flared in his hand for a mont before vanishing, a wistful look on his face.
Everyone, including Cynthia Grant, Irvin Holden, and Annelise Locke, was part of the discussion. Suddenly, Annelise Locke swished her snake tail and sniffed the air.
"Wait, Cynthia, do you feel that? The temperature around here has dropped a lot. It’s not as hot as it was when we started."
Cynthia Grant took a mont to feel it, then nodded quickly. "You’re right! It’s not just a little bit, it’s dropped a lot! What about you, Irvin Holden?"
"I don’t have a superpower, and it was so hot before I could barely breathe! I thought I’d just gotten used to it after being in one place for so long, but feeling it now... it does seem like the temperature has actually dropped."
"But could it be that you released your Ice Ability, Charles, and that’s why the temperature dropped?" Five asked quickly.
"No way. Why would I release my superpower for no reason?"
The eight newcors, after all, had only just arrived. But Five, Cynthia Grant, and the others had been there for a long ti. If Annelise Locke hadn’t heard Charles Aldridge ntion cooling things down, she wouldn’t have consciously tried to sense the temperature.
The Serpent Woman was extrely sensitive to temperature and all scents; she could clearly perceive the slightest change. It was just that Annelise Locke had only recently advanced and hadn’t yet learned how to properly utilize all of her abilities.
