Chapter 1437: Chapter 1187: Book Spirit (2)
Li Xianxun had a vague sense of enlightennt, but his realm was too low. It was like looking at a flower in the mist, indistinct and unclear. He could only keep these words in mind, hoping that soday he might comprehend them.
Perhaps he no longer rembered, but long ago, Li Zhirui had said similar words.
“Let’s go. While those beings are gathered at the Inheritance Land, let’s search for a few more precious Spiritual Objects; otherwise, this trip will be in vain.”
After speaking, Li Zhirui promptly took the lead and left first.
…
While Li Zhirui and his companions were searching for Spiritual Objects and trying to find a few remaining clansn, near the center of the Secret Realm by the Inheritance Palace, countless beings gathered.
Most of them entered the Secret Realm with the goal of obtaining these inheritances.
These beings were aware of the benefits of creating their own cultivation techniques, but they did not possess the ambition and foresight of Li Zhirui. They were already quite content with being able to break through to the Earth Immortal Realm.
As for Heavenly Immortal, and even more distant realms? To them, it was a luxurious wish beyond reach.
In reality, if it weren’t for seeking companions to strengthen their forces, many powers would have arrived much earlier.
Arriving early wouldn’t help, though; the Inheritance Palace was safeguarded by a Great Array of the Earth Immortal Rank. Though it had borne flaws over millions of years, it was not sothing they could easily break.
Moreover, they were all wary of one another, guarding against sudden actions. They would not attack the Formation with their full strength.
Therefore, it took nearly a month for thousands of beings and hundreds of Individual Immortals to break through the Formation with a combination of decryption and brutal dismantling.
With a bang, the once-solid Defensive Spiritual Light shattered into nurous fragnts, like a rain of light; it looked beautiful.
Yet, at this mont, no one had the spare energy to admire this beauty. All eyes were fixated on the fully-exposed Inheritance Palace before them.
The site contained nine towering palaces, with red walls and green tiles, flying eaves and carved arches, and materials made from High-level Spiritual Objects. Though the Spirit Light had dissipated over millions of years, one could still discern its past glory.
The first main hall was nad the Ancestor Master Hall!
From the na, one could guess that it was dedicated to the sect’s past Ancestor Masters. Many wanted to enter and explore its history, hoping for unexpected surprises inside.
At the entrance, there was a stele that stated each person could only choose one hall to enter, violators would be crushed to death!
With this single phrase, everyone gave up the idea.
No being was willing to gamble – gamble on whether the Ancestor Master Hall might contain precious Spiritual Objects, or gamble on whether the warning was still effective.
And there were many other halls yet to be explored.
Thus, everyone bypassed it and arrived at the second hall, which bore a plaque inscribed with Alchemy Room.
This ti, no one hesitated. They all resolutely moved on.
No one knew how long ago this Secret Realm had been handed down, but from the presence of so extinct external Spiritual Objects within, it could be inferred that it was at least tens of thousands of years old!
With such an extended tifra, no matter how powerful the spirit-sealing Restrictions were, they could not withstand the erosion of ti. The Precious Pills and Immortal Pills most likely had already lost their efficacy.
Just like the Spirit Materials used to construct the palace, which still stood seemingly strong, yet they were rely tarnished on the outside and rotten on the inside, long reduced to mundane matter.
As for whether there might still be Pill Recipes or other thods inside, no one cared; trivial Pill Recipes could not be compared to cultivation techniques, insights into cultivation, Divine Powers, etc.
Subsequent halls were respectively nad Artifact Refining, talisman making, Formation, and Heavenly Inquiry.
Heavenly Inquiry referred to the path of deduction.
Like the two preceding halls, before these four halls, no one was willing to push the doors and enter.
Up to this point, only the last three Inheritance Palaces remained.
“Hundred Arts Hall!”
From the na, it wasn’t hard to guess that this hall contained so obscure, niche Cultivation Hundred Arts thods.
When no one was willing to enter halls devoted to Pill, Artifact, Talisman, and Formation, how much more so for these unpopular arts?
Everyone seed to be waiting for the Scripture Storage Hall they desired to appear and continued moving towards it.
The next hall was nad Ten Thousand Skill Hall!
The crowd speculated that it probably contained various Divine Powers and Spells.
“Could it be that this force didn’t establish a dedicated Scripture Storage Hall and instead scattered all sorts of thods across the other halls?” a Demon Cultivator said maliciously.
This statent indeed caught the attention of many beings, with many agreeing with what he said.
But fortunately, the last hall was indeed the Scripture pavilion they longed for!
Compared to the other eight halls, the Scripture Pavilion was notably larger in area, perhaps due to storing a vast collection of cultivation techniques and Daoist Scriptures.
This ti, many beings did not hesitate for a second, their faces brimming with anticipation as they pushed the doors open, heads held high.
However, many more chose to remain outside, as they already had so clanmates or sect mbers inside to provide support.
Secondly, they wanted scouts to enter and assess the situation. If there was danger inside, those entering later would be more cautious, and if they could bring out so experience, all the better.
The third point was allocating so people to try entering other halls, hoping for unexpected harvests.
Creak——
The heavy door swung open quickly, and the once-dark hall instantly lit with nurous lamps, illuminating the Scripture Pavilion brightly.
Even though a large number of beings flooded in at once, the hall didn’t feel crowded.
“The Inheritance Trial is about to begin, please prepare yourselves!”
An unexpected voice rang out, startling everyone.
“Who’s there? Co out!”
“Get out here!”
Everyone was on high alert, their Mana circulating within. Should anything arise, they could ensure they were ready to counterattack imdiately.
A wisp of green smoke appeared, forming the image of an elderly man with a white beard in front of everyone.
“This old man is rely a Book Spirit here, assigned the tasks of guarding and overseeing the books, and responsible for comncing the Inheritance Trial.”
Upon hearing this, everyone flinched; this was an Individual Immortal!
Not only a Devil Spirit, but an exceedingly rare Book Spirit among them; it was said that a Book Spirit was originally a bookworm, and only after consuming three thousand books could it transform into a Book Spirit.
Once transford successfully, a Book Spirit would master the content of the consud books thoroughly, as well as innovate and synthesize new insights.
Another astonishing fact was that despite the demise of this Sect for so many years, the Book Spirit was still trapped by the Restriction, unable to escape! This underscored how formidable it once was.
Soon, many beings seed to think of sothing, with smiles appearing at the corners of their mouths.
If the Restriction here was still intact, did it imply that the Spiritual Objects in the other halls might also remain effective?
Thinking of this, their eyes suddenly burned with excitent.
Cultivation techniques were good, but Immortal Pills, Immortal Artifacts, and other Spiritual Objects were also important!
However, now that they were inside the hall, they temporarily had no way to inform their fellow sect mbers or clansn.
Seeing the changes in everyone’s expressions, the Book Spirit’s smirk flashed by, inner disdain resonating in its mind: so greedy as always!
“Are you all certain you want to participate in the Trial? You must know that the Trial is quite perilous, and accidents cannot be ruled out. If you get hurt, don’t bla for not warning you,” the Book Spirit slowly said.
Yet the words held a different undertone.
They seed to issue a warning, but it was more like goading, subtly luring them into the Trial.
Unfortunately, at this mont, most beings’ attention was focused on the Trial, and they didn’t catch the underlying aning of the Book Spirit’s words.
“Please follow , as for you, hurry outside!”
With that, the Book Spirit casually waved, sending out a few beings who didn’t choose to enter the Trial, dumping them at the doorstep.
Those individuals didn’t anticipate such suddenness, but the event had occurred, beyond alteration now.
