The reason being, they must repay what they have gained in excess before they can transcend.

Pausing, Ziwei said with a calm expression, “If insufficient in strength, the Sea Clan or even the Devil Race could be involved.”
Aside from the Demonic Tao, the other factions were potential allies.
As for why the Demonic Tao was excluded? Because they pursue a path of destruction and decay, gaining more from the annihilation of a world.
