Song Wen’s pupils constricted slightly. Like an arrow released from a bow, he sprang off Bai Wei and retreated several dozen feet before landing on his feet.

He eyed Bai Wei warily and quickly explained, "Senior Bai Wei, please don’t misunderstand. I was rely healing you. Though it was a necessary intrusion, your divine soul would have dissipated otherwise."

Bai Wei remained far calr than Song Wen had anticipated. She slowly rose to her feet.

"Little friend, there’s no need for further explanation. I understand my condition."

With a grateful expression, she clasped her hands in a fist salute. "I am deeply indebted to you for saving ."

Song Wen relaxed, a smile spreading across his face.

He had initially expected Bai Wei to be furious. After all, she had strictly forbidden Xu ngyu from having excessive contact with him, clearly demonstrating her aversion to n—let alone intimate physical contact.

"Senior, your celestial grace and jade-like purity transcend worldly concerns. From the mont I first saw you, I knew you were a noble and upright person who would never repay kindness with malice. It seems my judgnt was correct."

Bai Wei’s lips curved into a faint smile.

"You flatter , little friend."

"Every word I speak is true, Senior. There is no falsehood in my words," Song Wen replied earnestly, his gaze unwavering.

Bai Wei waved her hand, her gaze lingering on Song Wen’s face for a mont before she asked softly, "I see a weary look between your brows. Is this due to saving ?"

"As Senior said," Song Wen replied, rubbing his temples, a hint of fatigue in his eyes. "Years ago, I cultivated a secret art that allows to divide the spiritual energy of my divine soul and condense it into luminous orbs capable of healing divine souls. However, the cost of using this art is imnse, weakening my own divine soul."

Bai Wei had no reason to doubt Song Wen’s words.

"I, Bai Wei, will never forget the life-saving kindness you have shown ."

Bai Wei stepped forward, approaching Song Wen. A storage pouch suddenly appeared in her hand, which she offered to him.

"This contains sixty thousand high-grade spirit stones. Use them to purchase Spirit Herbs that nourish the divine soul."

Song Wen accepted the storage pouch, a smile spreading across his face.

"Since Senior insists, I won’t refuse."

Seeing Song Wen put away the storage pouch, Bai Wei nodded in satisfaction and continued, "By the way, I haven’t yet asked for your esteed na, little friend."

"Junior... Gou Jun," Song Wen replied.

"So you’re Junior Gou Jun," Bai Wei said.

"Senior, may I request a Communication Jade Slip?" Song Wen asked.

"Of course," Bai Wei replied, producing another jade token and handing it to Song Wen.

After accepting the token, Song Wen added, "Senior’s injuries are no longer critical. It’s ti for to take my leave."

With that, Song Wen began gathering the formation flags he had set up in the cave.

"Gou Jun, I have a question for you," Bai Wei said.

"Senior, please ask. I will answer truthfully," Song Wen replied.

"On the day we six besieged the Six Fiends Hall, why were you hiding in Luyang City?" Bai Wei asked.

"Though I cultivate the Corpse Dao, I bear an irreconcilable hatred for the Six Fiends Hall," Song Wen explained. "I concealed myself in Luyang City to gather intelligence."

"I see," Bai Wei said. "As for that great battle, what was the outco? Did the three great sects prevail, or did the Six Fiends Hall?"

"This matter is also of great importance to ," Song Wen said. "I implore you, Senior, to investigate thoroughly upon your return to the Spirit Jade Palace and inform of your findings via Communication Jade Slip."

"I will investigate this matter thoroughly," Bai Wei replied.

By this ti, Song Wen had already retrieved all the formation flags. He clasped his hands in a respectful bow.

"Senior Bai Wei, farewell."

With that, he turned and flew out of the mountain cave.

As Song Wen’s figure gradually disappeared from sight, Bai Wei slowly withdrew her gaze.

Why do I feel such an inexplicable sense of kinship toward this man? Could it be because he divided his divine soul’s spiritual essence to heal my injuries, causing fragnts of his divine soul’s spiritual essence to rge with mine?

Bai Wei lowered her eyes, glancing at her tattered robes.

Earlier, her body had been covered in wounds, and the torn fabric had revealed only shocking scars.

Now that her external injuries had completely healed, the exposed skin was a vast expanse of snow-white flesh. Though her vital areas remained covered, the fabric hinted at her voluptuous and shapely figure.

She retrieved fresh robes, donned them, and then leaped out of the cave, soaring toward the Spirit Jade Palace.

After flying ten thousand miles, Song Wen abruptly stopped, gazing southeast toward Luyang City.

He hesitated briefly, then decided against going there, instead turning toward Cloudstream Valley.

Having been away for eight years, it was ti to return ho.

As for the Six Fiends Hall, he would wait for Bai Wei to investigate the situation before making any further plans.

However, just as he sought to avoid danger, trouble ca looking for him.

He had barely flown a hundred thousand miles when disaster struck.

A frigid, icy light shot forth from a towering mountain a thousand miles to his right, hurtling directly toward Song Wen.

Reacting instantly, Song Wen summoned a black umbrella, positioning it defensively before him.

The icy light struck the umbrella, sending sparks flying and energy surging violently.

Song Wen felt an overwhelming force crash into him, making it impossible to control the umbrella or maintain his balance. He and the umbrella were hurled backward, crashing into the mountain below.

Before he could even hit the mountain, a figure materialized in the air to his right.

"This lord knows you possess an Earth Evasion Talisman," the figure said coldly. "But I advise you not to use it. Otherwise, I will make you taste the agony of Ten Thousand Thunders Devouring the Body."

The newcor’s expression was cold and stern, his figure as upright as a pine tree, clad in a black brocade robe. Faint strands of thunderlight flickered across its surface.

Boom!

Song Wen finally crashed into the mountainside, shattering half the peak. Ignoring the surging Qi and Blood within him, his expression turned grave.

He recognized this man.

He had been among the six attackers who besieged Six Fiends Hall.

Now, it seed likely this man was from the Profound Sky Sect. After all, among the three great sects, only the Profound Sky Sect specialized in thunder magic.

Song Wen steadied himself amidst the swirling dust, wiping a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth before bowing respectfully.

"Senior, what business brings you to intercept this junior?"

Though his deanor was outwardly deferential, Song Wen secretly communicated with shadow void within his Sea of Consciousness.

"Shadow void, assess this man’s cultivation level."

Simultaneously, Song Wen subtly opened his Sea of Consciousness, allowing shadow void to perceive the outside world.

"Spare your act," the newcor interrupted before shadow void could respond. "I saw you rescue Bai Wei with my own eyes. Reveal her location, and I’ll grant you a swift death."

As soon as the words left his lips, shadow void’s voice echoed in Song Wen’s Sea of Consciousness.

"Master, you need not fear this man. He possesses only mid-stage Body Integration realm strength and bears injuries. His aura is unstable, suggesting his spiritual power is nearly depleted. While I cannot guarantee his death, I can certainly help you escape."

Hearing this, Song Wen’s heart settled slightly, but a surge of murderous intent imdiately followed.

Yet his face remained a mask of terror and despair, as if he were paralyzed by the threat of death.

His legs buckled, and he knelt in mid-air.

"Senior Bai Wei’s divine soul is severely wounded. She has retreated to heal. I know her healing location and can guide you there. I only beg for your rcy—spare my life and allow to serve you as my master. From this day forward, I will be your loyal servant, facing any danger without hesitation."
