"Fellow cultivator, you should not pursue any further. If you continue, your daughter's life will be in danger."

After Xing Mo had chased for over two hundred miles, a figure cloaked entirely in black suddenly appeared and stopped him.

Xing Mo glared at Xing Shan, who was being dragged away by the insect-like creature, continuing to distance herself from him. His fury burned inside him.

Yet, he slowly began to reduce his speed. The person in black in front of him was the true target; chasing after the insects would not save his daughter.

Xing Mo turned his head to focus on the figure in black, his voice cold like a blade.

"Who are you? Why did you abduct my daughter?"

The figure in black was, of course, Song Wen. He spoke in a deep voice.

"Give the Saintly Spirit Pill! If you hand it over, I will release your daughter."

"You, a re Golden Core cultivator, dare to covet my Xing family's Saintly Spirit Pill!" Xing Mo's voice was cold as he responded.

"We cultivators seek immortality, which is an act of defiance against the heavens, aiming to break the lifespan decreed for humanity by the Heavenly Dao. Since the heavens have already been defied, what there is left to fear?" Song Wen replied.

"You've miscalculated. I am just an ordinary Golden Core cultivator in the Xing family and have no access to the Saintly Spirit Pill," Xing Mo said.

"It seems you don't want to save your daughter. Since I have carefully planned this trap, I naturally know your identity. You are the one who guards the Xing family's treasure vault," Song Wen stated.

"How did you learn of this internal secret of the Xing family?" Xing Mo's voice was icy.

Suddenly, he seed to realize sothing, and he pressed further, "Was it Jing Feiyao who told you?"

Song Wen smiled at Xing Mo but didn't answer.

"Indeed, that vile woman. I will tear her apart!" Xing Mo shouted angrily.

"What you intend to do with Jing Feiyao has nothing to do with . I only care whether you are willing to hand over the Saintly Spirit Pill," Song Wen said.

"Since you are connected with Jing Feiyao, you should know that the Saintly Spirit Pill has long since been removed from the treasure vault," Xing Mo replied.

"In that case, we part ways here."

With that, Song Wen turned to leave.

"Not so fast!"

Xing Mo shouted sharply.

He suddenly summoned a flying sword, which shimred with a chilling light and charged straight at Song Wen's face.

Song Wen's black qi surged around him, forming a black shield that blocked the flying sword.

The flying sword struck the shield, but the shield remained completely unscathed, while the sword was knocked back.

"Fellow cultivator, think carefully! Since I dare to show myself before you, I am not afraid of fighting to the death," Song Wen said.

Xing Mo's face turned ashen. Despite his full-force attack, he had failed to harm his opponent in the slightest.

It seed that with his weaker strength, Xing Mo had no choice but to compromise.

"There is indeed a Saintly Spirit Pill in the treasure vault. But why should I trust you? What if you take the elixir and still kill my daughter?" Xing Mo asked.

Song Wen was montarily uncertain about the truth of Xing Mo's words.

He had no way of knowing whether the Saintly Spirit Pill truly existed in the Xing family's vault or whether Xing Mo was simply lying to stall for ti.

"You and I have no grudges. Killing her brings no benefit. I am here only for the Saintly Spirit Pill," Song Wen replied.

Xing Mo thought for a mont and then slowly spoke, "Even if I hand over the Saintly Spirit Pill, both my daughter and I will still die. The family will never spare us. We will be condemned for disloyalty and executed."

Song Wen calmly said, "There are many ways to die. I have countless thods to make your daughter regret coming here."

"You..."

Xing Mo's eyes seed ready to explode with fury. Deep within his gaze, there was a blazing fire, as if it could erupt into flas at any mont, incinerating Song Wen into nothingness.

"Despicable! A dignified Golden Core cultivator, yet you resort to such lowly tactics."

"Heh, it's the sa for both of us. Every year, many innocent people die at the hands of your Xing family. Even the Saintly Spirit Pill was created by refining living humans," Song Wen said, looking toward Fang City, where smoke and fire filled the air, and battles raged everywhere.

The Xing family, in an attempt to quickly quell the chaos, had used extre asures to suppress the unrest, resulting in many scattered cultivators, unable to escape, being caught in the aftereffects of the battles and losing their lives.

Within Fang City, the land was filled with wailing and sorrow.

Xing Mo gazed at the distant figure of Xing Shan, who was being taken away by the insect-like creature, her silhouette fading into the horizon. He was montarily unsure of what to do.

"Fellow cultivator, I have a plan that could bring joy to both of us," Song Wen said.

"Speak."

"Use the Saintly Spirit Pill to exchange for your daughter, then take her and fly far away, leaving the Xing family."

"That's impossible!" Xing Mo rejected firmly. "I was born in the Xing family, raised by it. How could I betray my own family?"

"It seems you have chosen the family over your daughter, in which case, there is no need for us to continue this conversation," Song Wen said.

Seeing Song Wen once again making to leave, Xing Mo seed to have finally made up his mind.

"Fine, I'll give you the Saintly Spirit Pill! But you must guarantee my daughter's safety."

"I swear on my soul that as long as I have the Saintly Spirit Pill, I will not harm a single hair on Xing Shan," Song Wen replied.

"Where do we make the exchange after I have the Saintly Spirit Pill?" Xing Mo asked.

Song Wen casually tossed a communication jade slip.

"Once you have the pill, contact imdiately. Rember, you only have half an hour."

Xing Mo took the communication jade slip and was about to take flight, heading towards the south of Fang City.

Suddenly, both Xing Mo and Song Wen looked up in shock.

They felt an overwhelming sense of pressure coming from the distant sky.

Looking up, they saw two enormous figures swiftly soaring through the air.

One was a massive eagle with wings spanning over ten zhang (approximately 30 feet).

The other was a figure standing two zhang tall, with the body of a fish and the tail of a serpent.

The two figures were none other than the Feng Ying and Yuan Hao.

They did not conceal the powerful demonic aura emanating from them, which imdiately caught the attention of all human cultivators within hundreds of miles.

The human cultivators trembled in fear, all looking up in awe.

Even the chaos within Fang City ca to an abrupt halt the mont the two demons appeared.

The aura emanating from the Feng Ying and Yuan Hao was much stronger than when they had been in the Ming Shen Mountain secret realm.

Without making any stops, they flew directly toward Cloud Ridge Mountain.

"It seems a greater calamity will soon fall upon your Xing family," Song Wen said indifferently.

"Hmph!"

Xing Mo snorted coldly, seemingly dismissing Song Wen's words.

However, his gaze towards Cloud Ridge Mountain was filled with deep concern.

Xing Mo rose into the air and flew toward Fang City.

After Xing Mo's figure disappeared into the distance, Song Wen retracted his aura and followed, heading toward Fang City.

Xing Mo moved with lightning speed, entering the northern part of Fang City directly.

The northern part of the city was where the Xing family had their stronghold, so Song Wen could not enter. He could only wait on the outskirts of the city for Xing Mo to return.

About fifteen minutes later.

Song Wen suddenly received a ssage from Xing Mo.

[The Saintly Spirit Pill is in hand, where shall we et to trade?]

[Follow southward, and you will find .]

Monts later, Song Wen saw Xing Mo's figure fly past him from above, heading south.

Song Wen waited for a while but saw no one following Xing Mo.

Only then did he activate his movent technique, weaving through the dense forest as he headed south.
