Chapter 1406: Chapter 85 Good News (Added for Alliance Hierarch Gou of the Holy Sect!)

“What are you doing?” In the pitch-black cave, Zhao Xuenyang suddenly asked.

“Studying Dao Techniques,” Jiang Wang replied casually.

“What Dao Technique?” Zhao Xuenyang grew intrigued. “Tell , I’ll help you refine it.”

Jiang Wang, imrsed in the realm of Dao Techniques, responded flatly, “No need.”

In this Ancient Demon Cave of unknown location, three full days had already passed.

Even though there was no light here, no sign of day or night, Jiang Wang still kept track of ti morized in his heart.

Since he had hidden himself in the Ancient Demon Cave, Ku Jue indeed hadn’t co after him again.

Due to Zhao Xuenyang’s restrictions, Jiang Wang couldn’t move around freely, connect to the Taixu Illusion Realm, or explore the Inner Mansion. Fortunately, there were still the two supre Dao Techniques, “Fla Flower Burning City” and “Dragon-Tiger,” for him to study at his own pace.

Zhao Xuenyang scoffed, “You have no idea what a great opportunity you’ve just missed!”

“Indeed.” Jiang Wang said indifferently, “If I hadn’t encountered you, I wouldn’t be enjoying the life of a prisoner right now.”

Zhao Xuenyang fell silent for a mont, then said, “If not , soone else would have co.”

He paused, then smiled smugly again, “Wait, no, Chunyu Gui, that fool, definitely wouldn’t have guessed you’d flee toward Jinguo. You might have actually escaped… it’s a good thing it was !”

Seeing Jiang Wang’s expression, he felt embarrassed about laughing further, so he cleared his throat, stood up, and left the boulder.

“Well, I need to step out for a mont. Behave yourself, don’t try any tricks.”

With a flicker of footsteps, he had already left the cave chamber on his own.

Jiang Wang said nothing, nor did he make any unnecessary moves. He remained quietly seated as if still focused on studying Dao Techniques.

He knew exactly what Zhao Xuenyang had gone out to do—stepping briefly beyond the confines of the Demon Cave, receiving information. Zhao Xuenyang claid he was handling the transport mission entirely alone under the pursuit of a True Man of the Age, likening it to Jiang Wang’s previous flight under Zhao Xuenyang’s chase. But there remained a fundantal difference.

He had truly escaped on his own, relying solely on himself. Zhao Xuenyang, however, while no Dongzhen cultivators were overtly stopping Ku Jue, continuously received intelligence from others. Not to ntion the various pressures and misdirections Jinguo had applied to Ku Jue…

Absolute fairness… how could that ever exist?

Jiang Wang was even more aware that, at this mont, Zhao Xuenyang’s attention was still firmly on him.

Thus, he truly made no moves whatsoever.

Before long, Zhao Xuenyang returned.

“I have so good news. Want to hear it?” he asked with a grin.

Jiang Wang thought for a mont and asked, “Is this ‘good news’ good for you, or good for ?”

Zhao Xuenyang froze briefly, then offered a bitter smile. “I thought, after spending a few days together, we’re already friends. Once again, you’ve reminded of the issue of our opposing positions.”

“How desperate are you for friends? Or rather, how aningless are your friendships?” Jiang Wang’s expression remained relaxed, though the substance of his words was grave. “Since when does one send friends to their death?”

Zhao Xuenyang paused to think, then said, “I simply think you’re interesting—exceptionally interesting. But you’re right. From the mont we were born, our paths were destined to diverge.”

At this juncture, Jiang Wang instead chuckled, “When we were born, our paths were actually the sa. As a child, I too dread of going to Jade Capital Mountain to cultivate.”

Zhao Xuenyang didn’t ask why he was now in Qi Country instead.

He simply chuckled along, “What a sha.”

Jiang Wang seed to have recalled sothing and his gaze grew wistful. “Indeed…”

Noticing the somber shift in atmosphere, Zhao Xuenyang changed the subject. “The good news I ntioned, of course, is from your perspective.”

Jiang Wang smiled faintly. “Go ahead and share.”

Zhao Xuenyang put on an exaggeratedly formal tone, “Just this morning, Chuguo issued an official diplomatic note, solemnly expressing their concerns over the Yellow River Leader demon-communication case. They emphasized the significance of the Yellow River Leader, declaring him not to be lightly disrespected. They asserted that the Ancient Demon-Slaying Pact has far-reaching implications and that Jinguo cannot unilaterally make decisions on this matter. Chuguo also demanded to send personnel to participate in verifying the relevant evidence.”

Chin propped on his hand, he added, “You seed to be heading to Chuguo before. Do you have friends there? Among them, are so quite influential… world-renowned, perhaps!”

Chuguo issuing such a diplomatic note was certainly motivated by considerations of national interest, but if no one pushed for it, it likely wouldn’t have materialized.

As for friends in Chuguo, at present there was only Zuo Guangshu.

The matter of demon-communication had developed to the point that the entire world was aware. Zuo Guangshu naturally knew why Jiang Wang had stopped his journey to Chuguo. Given the young man’s personality, he’d likely tried to do sothing; however, his strength, status, and cunning were not sufficient to influence anything in this matter. That was precisely why Jiang Wang hadn’t ntioned anything specific in his letter.

Zuo Guangshu alone wouldn’t have been able to sway Chuguo’s diplomatic note—unless…

Jiang Wang recalled how Zuo Guangshu had previously ntioned that the Zuo Family Head wanted to et him.

That would be Guangshu’s grandfather—the one who sent this ‘gift.’

Which ant… Zuo Guangliu’s grandfather too.

Jiang Wang didn’t answer Zhao Xuenyang’s question and instead asked, “Do you think the so-called ‘evidence’ Zhuang Gaoxian prepared can withstand scrutiny?”

Zhao Xuenyang spread his hands. “Although I don’t trust him as a person, I can’t doubt his capabilities. Do you know how much Zhuang Country’s ranking among Daoist Countries has risen since he ascended the throne?”

Jiang Wang didn’t care about Zhuang Country’s ranking among Daoist States. No matter how high they climbed, it was achieved by standing atop the flesh and blood of tens of thousands of people from the Maple Forest City Region.

“I am rather curious about what evidence Zhuang Gaoxian has prepared,” he mused. “What could transform an entirely innocent man like into a traitor colluding with the Demon Race?”

“I don’t know much about it either. We’ll find out in Jade Capital Mountain,” Zhao Xuenyang replied, then added soothingly, “Hey, there’s another piece of good news. Want to hear it?”

“Go ahead.” Jiang Wang answered coolly.

“Ha! You’re quite popular, aren’t you?” Zhao Xuenyang adopted a more dramatic tone, “Mugu also issued a diplomatic note, sharply criticizing Jinguo for taking you to Jade Capital Mountain for trial. They accused Jinguo of being afflicted with the ‘Daoist Country Syndro,’ asserting that not all nations under heaven are Daoist States. Their wording is exceptionally scathing!”

Jiang Wang paused for a mont, then sighed, “The world has suffered under Jinguo for far too long!”

Mugu’s diplomatic note likely had Zhao Rucheng pushing for it, with Princess Yunyun lending her support. But fundantally, it stemd from Mugu’s pent-up dissatisfaction with Jinguo. They seized this opportunity, when Qi Country and Jinguo were locked in direct conflict, to deliver a fierce blow.

Yet now…

Though underlying reasons abound, on the surface, it seed that because of matters involving Jiang Wang alone, three of the world’s six major powers simultaneously publicly expressed discontent toward Jinguo!

To the uninford, Jiang Wang’s significance in this incident seed almost unparalleled in all of history.

Zhao Xuenyang chuckled, “It’s an inevitable fate—the tallest tree in the forest will always bear the brunt of the wind. Jinguo monopolizes the Central Region, domineering all under heaven, wielding the ultimate power, and naturally must shoulder the heaviest burden.”

He seed utterly unconcerned about Jinguo being targeted by multiple major powers, remaining calm and upbeat.

But Jiang Wang lowered his gaze. “And the bad news?”

The smile on Zhao Xuenyang’s face vanished.

He sighed, “Do you want to hear that now?”
