Chapter 2001: Chapter 163: Forgive When Possible

When leaving Qingya Academy, Jiang Wang’s face was wooden.

Mo Ci, that scoundrel, had bad intentions all along.

What nonsense about “helping you validate yourself.”

Mo Ci arranged it all as live teaching sessions!

Every disciple from the academy would discuss strategies before the battle, give pointers during the fight, and provide detailed summaries afterward, exploiting Jiang Wang thoroughly.

He had clearly co to test his sword against strong opponents, to verify what he had learned, pursuing the pinnacle of the Outer Building. Yet in the end, he beca a sparring partner for the Qingya Academy disciples!

Seventeen teaching battles in total.

Fighting with ticulous detail, exhausting body and mind.

Especially when Mo Ci would sporadically call for a pause during the fight. Then he would ramble on with comntary before calling to continue.

In the post-battle summary, Jiang Wang would be brought in to explain—”See if he had done this and that, wouldn’t you have done this and that…” and so on.

Jiang Wang felt like a Mon puppet; no, worse than a puppet. At least puppets cost money!

But here he was.

Offering his hard work as teachings, letting the academy disciples “broaden their horizons,” and still had to thank them! Almost had to pay for the “self-validation” expense…

Even though he won all seventeen battles with ease. Even though the Outer Building disciples of Qingya Academy had their unique styles, and the battles were not without rit. Even though he left quite a resounding na at Qingya Academy… Jiang Wang felt no joy in victory, only the bitterness of exploitation.

So bitter.

This trip to Qingya Academy was like feeling what it’s like to be an old ox.

Eating grass, selling blood.

Until Jiang Wang hastily said goodbye, fleeing like a refugee, he suddenly realized that this trip to Qingya Academy, he hadn’t even had a sip of water and just ca to contribute!

Who said Qingya Academy was easygoing and free-spirited?

What gave him the illusion that Xu Xiangqian’s senior brother could be a benevolent person?

Xu Xiangqian catches everything that flies over, Mo Ci uses everything to its fullest.

If they weren’t family, how could they be under the sa roof?

Despicable! Detestable!

Jiang Wang organized the techniques he had stolen during the bouts, dissecting the parts he could use, integrating them into the Human Dao Sword Style… all while grumbling indignantly.

With grievances against the unscrupulous disciples of Qingya Academy, he set off once more.

Heading straight northeast, directly to East King Valley.

Along the way, there were, of course, many countries and sects, but none that warranted him to linger.

East King Valley is located further east of Broken Soul Gorge, renowned though it is, outsiders know little about their dwelling.

Because it’s in a remote area, plus it’s teeming with venomous creatures, shrouded in miasma, strangers dare not approach.

The cultivators of East King Valley themselves are not very ostentatious, or maybe there’s a deliberate low profile over the years to soften any opposition with Qi Country.

Though so affiliated sects frequently show their prestige outside.

The region controlled by East King Valley also houses many civilians, becoming a nation of its own, locked in by miles of poisonous miasma.

But the civilians within East King Valley are not allowed to migrate out.

Even East King Valley’s own interactions with the outside world are mostly conducted through Shen Country or other affiliated sects.

Of course, ordinary people without Transcendent Power mostly lack the ability to migrate.

None of the believers from the Hanging Monastery’s territory desire to move to another country either.

Many ordinary folks spend their entire lives revolving around the small town where they were born. So never even leave their village throughout their lives.

It’s just that East King Valley’s governance may be stricter… and that’s about it.

Renxin Pavilion is, of course, a major sect in the world.

Yi Tang’s influence works very well here.

When Jiang Wang presented Yi Tang’s letter of introduction, he was imdiately surrounded by over a dozen people.

Each carrying swords and axes, incredibly enthusiastic.

Very sincerely greeting him and earnestly inviting him for a few cups of leftover wine.

Jiang Wang politely declined, stating that he ca recomnded by Yi Tang and carried a mission, so he couldn’t accept any als or gifts, but appreciated their good intentions. He also advised children not to drink, and again inford them, that he was here to find their elders…

After a session of cordial exchange.

A large group of people closely “escorted” him to find Xie Junng—the foremost person in East King Valley’s Outer Building, as nad in Yi Tang’s letter.

He was a handso man, albeit a bit pale and slightly sickly.

When Jiang Wang saw him, he was just walking out of a dark cellar.

Draped in a green robe, long hair falling, holding a constantly twisting two-headed monster snake, lifting it up for a closer look in the sun.

Its tiny scales were dark, flipping over to reveal a dense snowy wave.

None of the large group who escorted Jiang Wang said anything.

So Jiang Wang didn’t speak either.

After Xie Junng finished examining the snake, he casually tossed it back into the cellar.

Then he smiled at Jiang Wang and said, “Kept you waiting! I heard you were looking for ?”

Jiang Wang repeated the old refrain, “I’ve long admired you…”

“What’s your relationship with Yi Tang?” Xie Junng directly interrupted, waving his hand to dispatch the others, saying, “You all may leave now.”

The vast multitude of East King Valley disciples, without a word, retreated en masse.

This was a person of extrely dominant character, possibly with a bad temper.

Jiang Wang assessed in his heart, while verbally saying, “Just acquaintances.”
