A pedestrian food street sowhere in Tokyo was swarming with people today, all because an unprecedented figure who had thrown Japan into turmoil was present on this very street.
Of course, due to Yi Beidou’s fearso reputation and imposing aura, even though he had never hard a civilian since entering Japan, the crowd still dared not get too close. They maintained a safe distance of at least fifty ters, lest they interfere with his movents and displease the terrifying Great Demon King. There were even a number of Japanese security guards specifically tasked with maintaining this periter.
As a result, while the entire food street was teeming with people, the area imdiately around Yi Beidou was wide open.
Of course, aside from the food stall owners craning their necks in anticipation, there was also a Japanese woman at Yi Beidou’s side.
She was tall and graceful, with skin as fair and fine as jade. A mass of long, raven hair was piled high on her head, and her features were mature and intellectual.
Shintani Norika was an important mber of Japan’s diplomatic departnt. She hailed from a major, influential Japanese family and was highly educated. In both temperant and knowledge, she was a true mber of Japan’s highest elite. In the eyes of countless Japanese People, she was the perfect "Dahe Nurtured Daughter."
After Yi Beidou rejected the official apology from Japan’s representative, Daquan Yi, he began to wander around Tokyo. To prevent his presence from causing too much chaos on the streets, the Japanese governnt deployed special agents and assigned Shintani Norika, a peerless beauty, to accompany him as a guide.
Although the intelligence on him suggested Yi Beidou wasn’t a womanizer, he still had an innate appreciation for beauty. It was a biological instinct.
Yi Beidou, for his part, didn’t refuse to have her as his guide.
It wasn’t because of her figure or looks, but because she truly had a deep knowledge of the culture and history of Japan and Tokyo. Everywhere they went, with every new food they encountered, she could eloquently recount its history and evolution, giving Yi Beidou a deeper understanding of the country and its capital.
Shintani Norika, however, was under imnse pressure.
But it wasn’t due to the primal sense of pressure that Yi Beidou exuded.
After spending ti with him, she discovered that Yi Beidou wasn’t at all like the online rumors portrayed him: a ferocious Great Demon King, a reckless brute who stood at the pinnacle of human Physical Ability and challenged nations single-handedly.
On the contrary, the man possessed incredibly profound knowledge and was remarkably articulate. He wasn’t so thug who only understood violence.
Moreover, toward civilians who had no part in his affairs, his attitude could even be described as amiable.
For instance, when an eager owner presented him with a snack, he would actually say, "Thank you." And when his overwhelming presence made so stall owners so nervous that they fumbled—dropping a tray or the like—and trembled in fear, he would offer words of comfort, even going so far as to say, "My apologies."
She had originally assud that a figure like him, standing at the apex of human society, would be high and mighty, completely out of reach. She thought ordinary people would be like ants in his eyes, unworthy of entering his Dharma Eye.
But that was clearly not the case.
His terrifying nature was reserved only for rivals on his own level and the higher-ups who targeted him.
This reminded Shintani Norika of a saying.
The strong draw their swords against the stronger; the weak draw their swords against the weaker.
The pressure Shintani Norika was facing, however, was actually more physiological.
All day long, everywhere they went, Yi Beidou had been sampling the food. His appetite was like a bottomless pit, making one wonder if his stomach was a dinsional pocket.
Furthermore, after each al, his body would begin to run like a machine, emitting a rumbling sound as a strange vapor emanated from his skin.
At first, Shintani Norika hadn’t realized the gravity of the situation, thinking only that the vapor had a rather pleasant scent.
But she soon realized sothing was amiss.
Now, Yi Beidou was eating again, wreathed in that sa vapor.
"Excuse , I need to use the restroom."
Shintani Norika said, her eyes glistening, in a soft, gentle voice she never imagined she could produce.
Though brilliant and exceptionally capable, she was, after all, only human.
"You don’t have to force yourself. You can keep your distance."
Yi Beidou said.
"I’m not. This is my duty."
Shintani Norika stood, gave Yi Beidou a slight bow, and backed away with practiced elegance. She picked up her handbag and headed toward the restroom.
"Why is Group Leader Jixiang going to the restroom so often? It’s only been half a day, and she’s already gone five or six tis, hasn’t she?"
A group of four—two n and two won—was waiting outside the shop. One of the young n muttered.
They were all governnt officials from Japan, Shintani Norika’s subordinates, there to assist with her work.
"Group Leader Jixiang must be feeling a bit unwell today," one of the young won whispered to the others. "A little while ago, she discreetly asked to buy so feminine hygiene products. It must be that inconvenient ti of the month."
The others, who were unaware of the truth, murmured in dawning realization and awe. "So that’s why. Group Leader Jixiang is really pushing herself too hard. Her dedication is truly admirable."
’To be able to handle a target like the Great Demon King so well even under these circumstances... Group Leader Jixiang is truly worthy of being the future ace of Japan’s foreign affairs. We have so much to learn from her!’
