Ignoring the reporters’ desperate calls for him to stay, he strode out of the reception room, flanked by his secretary and security detail, and headed for the building’s back exit.
He left the reporters in the reception room in a complete uproar.
"What in the world just happened?! The Pri Minister of Japan looked flustered, didn’t he?"
"Sothing’s not right! Sothing is very wrong! I have a feeling sothing major is about to happen!"
"..."
The reporters in the room were like sharks that had scented blood, their expressions growing feverish with excitent.
They had to find out what was happening in Tokyo, and they had to find out now.
「anwhile.」
"When did this happen?!"
Once he was out of the reporters’ sight, the Pri Minister of Japan’s face turned deathly pale, drained of all color.
’Yi Beidou is back?! And he assassinated the Emperor?!’
For a mont, he felt as if the sky was falling.
But his most pressing concern was his own safety.
’If that madman dared to kill the Emperor, would he co for next?’
He had to get to safety—imdiately.
Fortunately, he had made thorough preparations for just such an occasion. Beneath the conference hall was a heavily fortified bunker. All he had to do was get inside to be temporarily safe.
"The exact ti of the incident is unclear, but we estimate it happened about half an hour ago," the secretary said grimly. "Most of the guards at the manor were knocked unconscious by the attacker and still haven’t woken up. Whether the attacker was Yi Beidou is, at this point, still just our speculation."
Hearing this, the Pri Minister’s heart clenched. Even though the bunker was only a few hundred ters away, he felt as if danger lurked around every corner.
"What about Mr. Sakagawa?! Where is Mr. Sakagawa?!" the Pri Minister said in a low voice.
To ensure his safety, he had pulled a lot of strings to get a powerful Saint Realm expert to act as his personal guard.
"Alas, Mr. Pri Minister, it is already too late."
Just then, an old, weary voice drifted over, sending a jolt of fear through the group. A phantom-like elderly figure in plain clothes materialized before them, blocking their path.
Sakagawa Satoshi of the Extre Explosion Karate Dao.
"Mr. Sakagawa, what is the aning of this?!" the Pri Minister couldn’t help but ask.
But before the words were even out of his mouth...
The next mont.
CRASH!!
A commotion erupted from outside, just ahead. A glass window was suddenly struck by an imnse force and shattered, spraying shards of glass in a wide arc. The shock nearly sent the Pri Minister of Japan sprawling to the floor.
Everyone then watched as a raging Blood-Colored Demon Fla poured in through the shattered window. In a flash, a figure stepped into the corridor, barring their way.
He was tall, powerful, ferocious, and domineering.
Two blood-colored stars floated behind his head, emitting an ominous light.
One was ford from the collected tribulation of an Alchemist.
The other was ford from the Tribulation Qi of the Emperor and two Saint Realm experts, though its glow was a notch dimr than the one from the Alchemist’s tribulation.
After getting a clear look at the newcor, the Pri Minister of Japan, who had collapsed to the floor, began to tremble like a leaf, as if he were staring at a soul-reaping Evil Ghost.
Yi Beidou.
"Mr. Yi, how about we make a deal?" said the old man blocking the Pri Minister’s path, his voice low. "The press conference is still going on, and the international dia hasn’t left. Have the Pri Minister apologize to you in person, in front of the world’s press. Let this matter be settled. There’s no need to create more slaughter and karmic debt. What do you say?"
"Those were my old terms. They’re outdated now," Yi Beidou said, his gaze fixed on the Pri Minister of Japan. "You want to negotiate with outdated terms? Since he was unwilling to bow his head, then he can lose his head instead. I’ve already made the Emperor’s head roll. Now it’s his turn."
His eyes didn’t see the nation’s most powerful leader, but rely a hunk of flesh and blood that he could tear apart at will.
At these words, crushed under Yi Beidou’s gaze, the Pri Minister of Japan began to tremble even more violently.
"Is there no room for negotiation?" the old man asked in a low voice.
"You want to stand up for him? Then be prepared to be buried with him. You used your army to try and kill , so you will pay the price. I gave you a chance. You were the ones who didn’t take it. Don’t bla for being rciless."
Yi Beidou stepped forward, his aura surging, growing more terrifying with each mont.
"Mr. Sakagawa, please, protect !" the Pri Minister of Japan cried out, trembling all over.
Watching Yi Beidou’s slow approach, Sakagawa Satoshi fell silent for a mont.
Finally, with a sigh, he stomped his foot.
BOOM!!
The ground erupted with an explosive sound. The shockwave jolted the body of the Pri Minister, who was still sitting on the floor, and actually launched him into the air. Sakagawa Satoshi caught him by the back of his collar and hauled him to his feet.
"Mr. Pri Minister, you must understand," Sakagawa Satoshi said coolly, "you represent the image of Japan."
"You!"
The Pri Minister seed to realize sothing, and a look of terror filled his eyes.
"I owed you a favor, which is how I beca entangled in this karmic affair," Sakagawa Satoshi said. "But since the situation is hopeless, you, as the leader of Japan, should understand the need to maintain basic dignity, to shoulder your responsibilities, and to uphold the image you are ant to project. Since you are unwilling to do so, then let all the bla fall to ."
The next mont.
To everyone’s utter shock, Sakagawa Satoshi jabbed a finger forward—not at Yi Beidou, but straight at the Pri Minister of Japan’s heart.
