The heavyset middle-aged man nad Lagu nodded slightly and patted the Golden Teeth Driver on the shoulder. He then walked forward, grabbed a stylishly dressed, fair-skinned Asian woman by the foot, and dragged her out of the van, completely ignoring the bloody streaks left as her delicate skin scraped against the vehicle’s fra.
RIIIIP!!
Lagu ripped the black tape from the woman’s eyes. The rough motion made her face contort in pain.
Though her hair, clothes, and face were disheveled and filthy, her lovely features were still apparent.
Her terrified, red-rimd eyes, like those of a frightened rabbit, added a perverse sort of charm.
Jiang Qiu’s body trembled as she saw the vicious-looking n staring lecherously at her. She whimpered continuously, tears streaming from her eyes.
She was from Donghua and had just recently graduated from college. She’d co to Siam with her best friend for a graduation trip, planning to shoot so videos on the side. One mont she was sleeping soundly in their guesthouse; the next, she woke up bound hand and foot in a bumpy van, her eyes blindfolded, with no idea what was happening.
Now, seeing the scene before her, she knew exactly what had happened. Despair and regret flooded her heart.
’Why did I have to leave Donghua and travel to Siam? I knew this area wasn’t safe, but I thought people were just exaggerating.’
But now, it was too late for regrets.
"The quality of the ’rchandise’ this ti is pretty good."
Lagu stared intently at Jiang Qiu’s face, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Haha, you’ve got a sharp eye, sir. This one’s the best of the lot. Apparently, she’s a minor internet celebrity back in Donghua. Probably ans there’s so money to be squeezed out of her. We can dig a little deeper," the Golden Teeth Driver said, chuckling.
"Tsk. A face this pretty... I wouldn’t want to let her go even if they paid. She’s a rare find. The boss will probably like this one. You little punk, you didn’t sample the goods first, did you?" Lagu asked, looking at the Golden Teeth Driver.
"Of course not, Boss Lagu. I know the rules. You get first dibs," the Golden Teeth Driver said hastily.
"I’m not that lucky."
Greedily, Lagu ran his chubby palm over Jiang Qiu’s face. Then he roughly groped her other curves to get his fix, causing terrified tears to stream relentlessly from her eyes.
"Save this one. We’ll present her to the boss and let him decide her fate. Pull the others out so I can have a look."
Lagu’s fear and reverence for his boss ultimately allowed him to restrain his own desires. He waved his n forward.
Soon, the others were also dragged from the van and the tape was torn from their eyes. Jiang Qiu saw her best friend, whose expression was vacant and lifeless. She looked like she’d been scared out of her mind.
"As for the others... take them away and start the ’procedure’," Lagu said after inspecting the ’rchandise.’ Vicious smirks appeared on his n’s faces.
Everyone knew what the "procedure" entailed.
The won would first be passed around by the n, all of it recorded. The n would be brutally beaten, tased with electric batons, and have a few fingernails pried off to make it nice and bloody. Their struggles and screams would be recorded as well.
Then, they would find a way to send the videos to the victims’ families to demand a ransom.
This was the first step in "processing the rchandise."
To them, the "rchandise" was no different from livestock. These were truly ruthless n.
Several of the n imdiately moved forward, preparing to drag the "rchandise" into a room and lock them up.
「anwhile.」
One of the ard guards at the stockade’s main gate thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. For a mont, he seed to see soone standing by a large tree in the woods, but when he blinked, the figure was gone.
"Who’s there!"
The man instantly grew alert, raising his rifle toward that section of the forest.
"There’s no one there. You seeing things in broad daylight?" the other guard looked over and said with a chuckle.
But the next mont...
TWEEET! TWEEET!
From within the stockade, a whistle shrieked, signaling an enemy attack. In an instant, everyone inside was on alert. The expressions on the two ard guards at the gate changed drastically.
It was the lookout, hidden high up in the stockade, sounding the alarm!
’Where was the enemy?’
Just then, they caught a glimpse of a black shadow flashing past in their peripheral vision.
But it was too late.
They never even got a clear look at what the black shadow was. They just felt a hand clamp around their necks, and their world went dark as they lost both consciousness and their lives.
The two guards never saw what hit them, but Jiang Qiu, who was facing the stockade gate, saw everything clearly.
A figure appeared before the gate like a phantom. He grabbed each guard by the neck, one in each hand. Without breaking stride, he used their bodies as battering rams, slamming them directly into the gate.
BOOM!!
The stockade gate burst open from the impact.
"Open fire!!"
Lagu and his n were also facing the gate. Seeing the scene unfold, he imdiately scread the order.
The ten or so ard thugs beside him and around the courtyard reacted instantly. They slung the AK rifles from their backs and opened fire on Yi Beidou without hesitation.
With the crack of a gunshot, the Martial Arts Dao declined. Flesh and blood cannot withstand firearms.
However, that only applied to ordinary Martial Artists. It did not apply to soone like Yi Beidou, who had achieved Body Ascension!
Yi Beidou’s body coiled like a pouncing tiger. He brandished the two guards’ corpses like a pair of human shields.
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
The roar of gunfire was deafening. Bursts of blood mist erupted from the two guards’ corpses. Their mortal bodies couldn’t possibly stop the force of the bullets; they rely served to cushion the blows.
But it was enough.
The bullets that passed through the corpses ricocheted off Yi Beidou’s body with the sound of striking tal, deflected by his impossibly tough skin.
In less than half a second, the two corpses had been all but torn to shreds by the force of the bullets.
And yet, in that ti, Yi Beidou had already closed the distance and was standing before the fat man, Lagu.
At such close quarters, with their bodies practically overlapping, there was no room to fire a gun.
Everything had happened so fast that Lagu didn’t even have ti to turn and flee.
WHOOSH!!
A palm strike cut through the air with a terrifying gust, hitting Lagu square in the chest.
THUMP!!
Under the force of that single palm strike, half of his body exploded like a rotten waterlon. Shards of bone shot out from his torso like shrapnel. The bone fragnts, propelled by the blast of air from the strike, riddled the Golden Teeth Driver and two other thugs standing nearby, killing them instantly.
Four killed with a single palm strike.
The scene was one of extre violence and gore.
The remaining thugs were completely stunned by the sight, montarily forgetting to fight back.
But Yi Beidou didn’t pause for an instant. His fingers beca a blur in the air, jabbing forward. Before the last few n could react, grueso holes erupted on their necks as if they had been pierced by daggers.
anwhile, the commotion in the courtyard alerted those inside the building. More thugs, all ard, rushed out.
Yi Beidou casually snatched up two more corpses to use as shields and charged toward them.
With Yi Beidou’s power and the elent of surprise, killing these twenty or thirty poorly equipped thugs was no different from a slaughter.
The sounds of gunfire and screams echoed throughout the stockade.
Jiang Qiu stared with a vacant expression. She watched the tall man cut a swath through his enemies like a Celestial God descended to the mortal realm. Bodies of flesh and blood were like paper in his hands, and the roaring firearms were no more threatening than fire pokers. She almost believed she was hallucinating, a fignt of her own terror.
In less than a minute, all was quiet within the stockade.
Blood flowed freely across the ground. The thick, coppery sll of it jolted Jiang Qiu back to her senses, her eyes regaining their focus.
Her gaze fell upon Lagu’s bisected corpse lying on the ground. Blood, fat, and a sickening mix of green and blue entrails were strewn everywhere.
GAG!!
A powerful wave of nausea washed over her, and Jiang Qiu couldn’t help but dry-heave. Unfortunately, with her mouth sealed by tape, nothing would co out.
