Now reading: Chapter 194 from Regression Guidelines For the Supporting Character, a Supernatural novel by Cha Seon차선.

At this rate, the probability written in the trait description had to be a lie—wasn’t the system just activating it whenever it wanted?

While Cha Seohu glared at the status window in rational suspicion, Kwon Taehyuk, who had been frozen stiff, quickly nodded.

“Of course, of course. There's no need to call it a shaless request. I was the one who offered first.”

As if worried Seohu might change his mind, Kwon Taehyuk rushed to speak and pulled out his phone.

“I’ve already cleared a room for you, so you can move in imdiately. I’ll call soone over—let’s ride together to the guild.”

“Understood.”

When Seohu answered without resistance, Kwon Taehyuk imdiately made a call. Even though his face barely changed, Seohu could still sense his delight—it was oddly fascinating.

While Kwon Taehyuk was on the phone, Seohu turned to Sahyeon.

“You did great.”

He finally reached out and patted his head. Sahyeon gave a quiet smile.

His reaction was nonchalant, like it had been nothing, but even Seohu was impressed by how cleanly things had been handled.

He’d worried—what if Sahyeon got angry and refused to follow orders?

“You really did well.”

If Sahyeon had been like the other brothers from the district—putting his own emotions first and acting on impulse—he never would’ve helped Seohu escape with Kwon Taehyuk’s support.

This outco had only been possible because Sahyeon had prioritized Seohu over his own anger.

Sincerely grateful, Seohu kept ruffling his hair until the boy’s cheeks flushed pink from embarrassnt.

“I had the car parked at the hotel brought around. I also called a Supporter to the guild, so we’ll get you treated as soon as we arrive.”

Finishing the call, Kwon Taehyuk reached out his hand. Seohu accepted his support and quietly rose to his feet.

He wasn’t injured, but if the owner of the place said so, he figured it was better to comply—at least for today, he planned to do everything Kwon Taehyuk asked.

“Ah, Guildmaster. What about the hotel...?”

“I already told my secretary. He’ll take care of things quietly without letting word spread.”

With how much damage had been done, that could only an Yesung Guild would be handling the lobby repairs.

Seohu’s expression, which had started to lighten a little after they fled to the rooftop, darkened again. Kwon Taehyuk had never seen him look so gloomy. After hesitating, Seohu finally spoke.

“I’m sorry. I’ll repay the repair costs later.”

“Why would Hunter Cha Seohu pay for that? I drew my weapon in a panic too, so part of this is on . Don’t worry about it.”

Seohu knew Kwon Taehyuk had reacted instinctively to Kang Haeil’s killing intent and drawn his sword—but still, to admit fault without hesitation and insist Seohu not worry...

‘He’s a ridiculously kind rich guy...’

In Seohu’s entire life, he’d never t a wealthy person with this much grace. With a strange swell of emotion, he stepped off the rooftop.

***

The three of them took the car parked outside and headed for Yesung Guild.

“Welco, Hunter Cha Seohu.”

As soon as Seohu and Sahyeon stepped out of the vehicle, a secretary ca out beyond the main gate and greeted them with perfect courtesy.

“It’s been a while. You rember , right?”

“Huh? Oh, yes. Hello.”

It was the sa secretary Kwon Taehyuk always brought with him wherever he went.

Seohu answered awkwardly, returning the greeting. But then the secretary’s expression turned solemn and determined.

“Thank you so much for coming to the guild! I will do my utmost to ensure you live without any inconvenience!”

“Eh? No, I’m just a regular guest—”

“Co this way, please.”

Maybe he mistook Seohu for so major client. Seohu shook his head repeatedly, but the secretary continued gently nudging him forward.

To be honest, the secretary was beyond relieved that Seohu had co to the guild.

Previously, he’d given Kwon Taehyuk unsolicited advice about not coming on too strong—right before Seohu was ambushed in his office.

Normally, he just nodded and followed orders no matter what Taehyuk did, but that day... like he’d been possessed, he’d run his mouth. His position had beco incredibly awkward afterward. It was a miracle he hadn’t been fired.

‘After that, Guildmaster kept glaring at every chance he got. Scared the hell out of .’

It was the kind of quiet fury only a boss could dish out—and never sothing he wanted to experience again.

Swallowing his internal tears, the secretary forced his lips into a broad smile.

“I’ve already heard the news. The room is fully furnished and stocked with essentials. Everything’s been cleaned. Please take your ti inspecting it, and if there’s anything else you need, just let know. I’ll arrange it imm—”

“Secretary Kim.”

It was Kwon Taehyuk who interrupted the bootlicking monologue.

“I’ll handle the escort. You check the internal security systems. I already spoke to the security team about the external asures.”

“Understood.”

Once the secretary left, Kwon Taehyuk turned # Nоvеlight # to look at them.

Like true brothers, Seohu and Sahyeon were both giving him the sa look: What was that all about?

Instead of the secretary, Kwon Taehyuk personally guided them through the guild lobby toward the elevator. Apparently, orders had already been passed down in advance—a guard was already waiting with the elevator open for them.

“The room is on the 15th floor. There are six elevators, but the four in the center are communal. If you want privacy, use the one at the end of the left corridor. No one else uses it but , so it’ll be more convenient.”

Speaking as if it were only natural to offer them the private elevator, Kwon Taehyuk led the way out.

As they followed him down the hall, they reached a room guarded by another security agent. The guard gave a polite nod and handed Taehyuk a black key card from his chest pocket.

Beep, click!

Taehyuk easily unlocked the door and motioned for Seohu to co closer. Curious, Seohu stepped forward, and Taehyuk pulled the door wide open for him.

“This will be the residence for Hunter Cha Seohu and your younger brother.”

A fragrant breeze drifted out from inside. As soon as they stepped through the entrance, the lights flicked on, revealing the bright interior.

The spacious living room had a sofa and TV. To the side, the kitchen had a dining table for four.

Proud and unable to contain himself, Kwon Taehyuk launched into a full explanation without being asked.

“This room is the bedroom, and here’s the walk-in closet. Ah, there’s a separate bedroom for your brother as well.”

“Oh...”

“There are two bathrooms. All the toiletries are brand-new, so feel free to use whatever you need.”

“Wow...”

“For als, there are instant foods and ran in the pantry, and the fridge is stocked with side dishes from a Korean restaurant.”

“Whoa...”

“Also, soone will co to clean twice a week. Just let know what days and tis you prefer. And if you’d like, I can also arrange soone to cook als.”

Eventually, Seohu grew tired of reacting and fell silent.

He started half-listening to the nonstop explanations as he slowly took in the space.

‘Why does it feel like a reality show jingle is about to play?’

Being given a tour of soone else’s place like this, he couldn’t help but hear a corny real estate show the playing in his head.

“Yesung Guildmaster’s Love House...”

Well, minus the “love” and minus the “house”—this was a room. Still.

It was just so clean and stylish that it gave off that vibe.

‘Feels like... what, about 1000 square feet?’

This kind of upscale 1000 sq ft interior would be hard to find even in high-end apartnts. He really was getting pampered just by knowing a rich friend.

While Seohu internally marveled in the most materialistic way, Kwon Taehyuk finally wrapped up and asked awkwardly,

“So... what do you think, Hunter Cha Seohu?”

Clearing his throat nervously, he continued,

“It’s not particularly large, but considering your safety, I think it’s better than the hotel. Only you and your brother will be using the 15th floor, and even if soone else tries to co up, they’ll be stopped and screened by security in the hallway. Plus, the building and the first-floor lobby are also heavily guarded at all—”

“I like it. I like it a lot. So you can stop explaining now.”

Not particularly large? This place was more than enough. And like he said, the security was flawless.

This was exactly why Seohu had swallowed his pride and asked. To survive the Great Dungeon and escape from his district brothers, he needed this kind of power and wealth backing him.

‘Though I didn’t expect it to be this good...’

Compared to the tiny hotel room he’d been living in—or the rundown office from before—this was heaven.

“You’re being almost too good to . I don’t really have anything I can do for you in return.”

“You don’t have to do anything.”

Kwon Taehyuk hesitated, then lowered his gaze and added carefully,

“Just... if you don’t have anywhere else to go... I hope you’ll keep using this room. I’m not trying to pressure you. Even if it’s only until you find a new place. It’s safer here than a hotel, and, um, if anything’s uncomfortable, I can fix it. And, ah, security is also—”

The more he talked, the more tangled his words beca. His face turned slightly red as he stumbled through it all.

“Ahem, what I an is... if it’s alright with you, Hunter Cha Seohu... I hope you’ll stay here as long as you’d like.”

“Riiight...”

Cha Seohu looked at him with soulless eyes and thought,

‘What the hell is this squishy, awkward mood? It’s like a romantic cody or sothing.’

He was curious—but not curious enough to want to know more.

Sothing about it felt like it would lead to a very annoying headache.
