Now reading: Chapter 228: Adam’s Offer from Regression - Second Chance At Life, a Romance novel by LustGod.

Adam never expected soone who is not related to him by blood or is not a close family friend to put so much importance on him.

The old man Rangsan is willing to put his livelihood away to make sure Adam becos the world champion.

Adam had to give it to Rangsan for his sheer dedication and confidence he has in Adam, no matter how much of a prodigy Adam might be, one should never put all their eggs in one basket.

Anyone would look at Rangsan’s behavior and think he is taking a massive risk, and they all would be right to think so. If Rangsan had put this sa trust in soone else’s shoulder, then he might really have fucked himself over.

But Adam is a godsend for Rangsan. Adam is a basket made of the strongest tal, while its insides are lined with the softest of materials, so no matter how many eggs Rangsan puts in this basket nad Adam, it’s all going to be safe.

And since Rangsan is putting so much trust in Adam, Adam has decided to return the favor.

He has been thinking over what happened with Rangsan.

"Say, your father was told to close his gym and never to open one again, right?" Adam asks Lamai.

"Yes, what about it?" Lamai asks.

"But nothing is forcing him to get hired to teach in a gym, right?" Adam asks.

When Lamai hears Adam’s question, her eyes widen as she realizes what Adam is getting at, but then she quickly throws the thought away.

"It’s not going to work. My old man’s pride won’t allow him to work for soone else, and he is not doing this to just teach MMA; he wants that title. Working under soone ans giving credit to soone else for their work. He won’t do it," Lamai says.

"I said nothing about him working for others," Adam says.

Lamai lifts her head to look at Adam in confusion, wondering what else he could have ant by his words.

"Then, what were you suggesting?" Lamai asks.

"I was thinking about buying the gym and hiring your father as its head coach," Adam says.

Lamai’s eyes widen, hearing Adam’s suggestion.

"You are going to buy the gym and hire my father?" Lamai couldn’t help but ask to confirm what he heard.

"Yes, why not. By doing so, your father doesn’t really have to stop training others. His na will still be associated with this gym, and the most important point, since he will be hired by to train, he isn’t breaking his promise. He is just earning a salary by being a hired instructor," Adam says

Lamai looks at Adam with wide eyes, unable to utter the words she wants to say.

She looks at him as if he has a blank face on, as if the words he has just spoken are just a trivial matter that doesn’t need any discussion or reasoning.

Lamai wants to argue, point out that Adam’s wrong for suggesting it, that his suggestion won’t work, but she can’t because she knows it’s the best option that has co across her.

Adam is right. If he buys the gym off her father’s hands, it will belong to Adam, he will continue to train here, and her father will continue to teach here. The gym will continue to run under her father; the only thing different will be the na on the deed.

It will no longer belong to her father, but to Adam.

"Do you have the money to buy it?" Lamai asks.

Adam imdiately bursts into laughter, hearing Lamai’s question.

"What’s so funny?" Lamai asks, annoyed.

"Do you not know about ?" Adam asks, amused.

"What’s there to know about other than you being a giant asshole?" Lamai says, rolling her eyes.

Adam chuckles again.

"I am a giant asshole? Then what about you, my lady? Always throwing temper tantrums like a spoiled brat. What should I call you?" Adam asks.

"Hmph," Lamai only scoffs in return, making Adam smile.

"Yes," Adam says.

"Yes, what?" Lamai asks.

"Yes, I have the money to buy the gym from your father’s hand. You just need to tell your father about my offer," Adam says.

"Why ? You want to buy it. You ask him," Lamai says.

"It doesn’t work like that, princess. I am not the one who’s the desperate one of the two of us. You want to save your father, you need to present him with what we talked about, and if he agrees, we can continue this talk tomorrow," Adam says.

Lamai gives Adam another complicated gaze as she ponders her thoughts.

"If you are done overloading your last two brain cells, then maybe we should get started with my training," Adam says, teasing her.

"Why you!" Lamai says and charges at Adam while he runs away from her.

They then begin their drills.

Warm-up exercises, footwork training, intense cardio, and pad work. This goes on for forty-five minutes before Rangsan finally arrives and begins Adam’s real training.

Throughout the training, Adam’s sole focus is on what he is being taught. With every session, Adam’s skills continue to get better, and with how fast he is getting better, it won’t be a surprise to Rangsan if he can take on fighters with ten to twenty professional fights under their belts.

Adam might not have the knowledge and experience those fighters have, but when it cos to pure athletic ability and fight IQ, he is already up there with the greats of the sport.

What Rangsan has learned from training Adam is that Adam doesn’t need fitness drills or strength training or conditioning; his body has already been trained to perfection before he even ca to their gym to learn MMA.

What Adam needs is just the knowledge of the ga and skill, and with how intelligent he is, Rangsan truly believes that Adam just needs a year of training to beco the world champion.

Never has Rangsan seen soone as gifted as Adam before, and he feels as if the gods have blessed him with the opportunity to train such a fine specin of a human being.

While Adam and Rangsan engage in a fierce duel of pad work, where Rangsan guides Adam through a complex set of combinations, Lamai watches from the sidelines with a complicated gaze.

’Asshole,’ She thinks, looking at Adam before she blushes as she looks at his serious face as he trains. This is not the first ti such a thought as crossed her mind, and if not for her being his coach, who knows what might have happened between them.

’Look at him, training all seriously, disregarding everything as if he didn’t just dump on the biggest responsibility,’ Lamai thinks, feeling a little frustrated.

She wonders how she will approach her father with Adam’s offer.

’Tonight at dinner should be the best ti. I should get him so beer to get rid of the edge,’ Lamai thinks as she continues to watch her father train Adam.

The training session lasted another hour, and it flew past like a breeze.

"We will need to get you so sparring partners before your big debut," Rangsan says as he takes the pads of his hands.

From the looks of it, he looks more tired than Adam, even though it’s Adam who has been throwing all the strikes.

"Big debut? I don’t think people are interested in watching so rookie’s debut," Adam says, taking off the gloves.

"You would be wrong to think so. So especially co to watch rookies get knocked out in their very first fight. They derive a sick pleasure from it. Others co just to watch a good find.

If you put up a good performance and manage to impress a few of them, they might turn out to be your lifelong fans," Rangsan says.

"If you say so," Adam says. He doesn’t care much about gaining any fans. He is just there for the ga and to win big.

He has decided to make a career out of it, so he will make sure to thrive in it and stand at the very top. What’s the use of this superior body if he can’t do so much?

With today’s training done, Adam decides to leave, but before that, he gives Lamai a knowing look. The look indicates to her that she needs to talk to her father about the proposition that he has offered.

Lamai ets Adam’s gaze and responds with a blep of her tongue in annoyance.

Adam chuckles, seeing her childish behavior, but he finds it endearing and cute.

For how dangerous a woman she is, she is very childlike in so of her actions; well, Adam doesn’t mind them. Luckily, she doesn’t do it all the ti, or it would have been annoying.

Adam watches Lamai leave with her father in her short shorts.

He, too, needs to leave, so into the locker room, he takes a quick shower, puts on his casual clothes, and walks out.

Today hasn’t been an eventful day for Adam, so he will have to make it one.

With the ti he has in his hand right now, he decides to give his "best friend" a visit. All that training has made Adam feel a little tortured, so what’s better than torturing one of the n he hates the most in this world?

With a phone in his hand, Adam approaches his car as his thumb rapidly taps on the screen, typing a ssage to soone. Soone he hasn’t talked to for a while now.

He is sure she must be desperate for him to reach out.
