Since Adam is going to et this woman for the very first ti since his late mother’s death, he feels a little hesitant.

’Maybe I should buy sothing before I give her a visit,’ Adam thinks, and finds a nice gift store to buy so things. Wine, flowers, and a gift basket filled with sweets and snacks.

He returns to his car and makes his way towards his mother’s friend’s house.

Adam drives into a high-class suburb, and though his car stands out here as well, it isn’t that rare.

Adam looks around, trying to locate the house he is looking for, and he finally finds it.

He stops his car in front of the house and gets out, holding the gift basket in his hand. Adam arrives before the door and rings the bell, hoping she is ho.

After a few seconds, the door opens, but instead of the woman he was expecting to see, he sees a young girl, probably around his sa age.

Short pink hair, big beautiful eyes, a petite figure, a nose piercing, ear piercings, belly button piercings, and wearing a small t-shirt that shows off her average-sized but nice breasts, small jeans shorts, and a lollipop in her mouth, the girl looks at Adam, wondering who this handso young man is.

"Who are you?" She asks, popping the lollipop out of her mouth.

"I am looking for Clara Dean," Adam says, looking at the beautiful young girl before him. For so reason, he feels like he has seen her sowhere, but he can rember exactly where.

"And who are you?" She asks. Her eyes checking out Adam from top to bottom. She has never seen soone as good-looking as Adam before, and it made her heart flutter.

"My na’s Adam. I am an old acquaintance of Clara Dean," Adam says.

"You don’t look that old," she says.

"Well, I knew her when I was a kid. So, is she here?" Adam asks.

"Mom! Soone nad Adam is here for you!" She shouts.

"Young lady, how many tis have I told you not to shout and disturb the neighbors?" A woman’s voice cos from the inside as she approaches the front door.

She steps before the front door and gives her daughter an annoyed look before looking at Adam.

As her eyes fall on Adam, she sees a face she didn’t think she would ever see before. The face of a dear friend who is no longer in this world.

But of course, it’s only a glimpse. The face standing before her is of a man who is much more handso, but this young man still bears a resemblance to her dead friend.

Her hands shake a little as she realizes who it is that is standing before her.

"Adam..." she whispers as her heart grows heavy, recalling the past.

"Aunty Clara... You rember ," Adam says, smiling gently at her.

"My sweet boy, how can I ever forget you. Co here," She says and extends her arms.

Adam smiles and hugs her. Clara hugs him tightly, pressing her breasts against his body, which Adam doesn’t mind. Like he expected, she is still beautiful.

Clara takes her ti with the hug. If Adam didn’t have a gift basket in his hand, he would have hugged her back, maybe pull her in a little closer, maybe even cop a feel. Well, he is not sure if he would do that, but maybe in the future when he is much closer to her.

Clara pulls away from the hug and looks at Adam again. "Look at you, you are so tall, so handso. Marie would be so proud if she saw her now," Clara says.

Adam smiles.

Clara’s daughter’s eyes widen as she finally connects so dots. She recognizes who Adam is. She rembers having a childhood friend whom she used to play with when her mother took her to et a very nice lady.

She didn’t expect that boy to actually be Adam.

Adam had already made the connection and rembered who this girl was when she called Clara, her mom. This is Lana, the little girl he used to play with when he was little.

He didn’t expect that sweet, innocent girl who used to follow him around like his tail to dye her hair pink and get tattoos and piercings all over her body.

Well, it’s none of his concern what Lana does to her body. He barely knows her other than them being childhood friends who lost touch.

"And you look just as young and beautiful as the last ti I saw you," Adam says. Hearing Adam’s complint makes Clara smile. "Look at you, not only handso but also gifted with a sweet tongue. You must be breaking a lot of hearts," She says, smiling.

"Here, this is for you," Adam says, handing over the gift basket to her.

"Thank you, you really didn’t have to. You coming here is the best present you have given today," Clara says, unable to contain her happiness.

Even Adam didn’t expect Clara would get so happy seeing him.

"Lana, take this inside," Clara says, handing the gift basket to Lana. Lana peeks into the basket, wondering if there is anything she likes as she takes it to the kitchen.

"Co in, quick," Clara invites Adam.

Adam nods and joins her in the living room.

"Sit down, I will prepare that wine you brought," Clara says and enters the kitchen.

Clara sees her daughter ssing with the gift basket, taking a chocolate from it, unwrapping it, and popping it in her mouth. This girl clearly has a sweet tooth.

Clara smacks the back of Lana’s head. "Ah! What?" Lana asks, annoyed.

"Go and keep Adam company while I prepare this wine for him," Clara says.

"Ugh~ I don’t want to do that. I am going back to my room," Lana says.

"Oh, did you forget how both of you were thick as thieves when you were young. You followed him around everywhere he went. You even told in private that when you grow up, you want to marry Adam." Hearing Clara’s words brought back so childhood mories that Lana had forgotten.

She imdiately blushes as she rembers liking Adam a lot when they were little.

"Oh my god! So embarrassing . I said that when I was a kid. I am going to my room. Don’t bother ," Lana says and storms off.

Clara sighs, defeated, seeing her daughter once again defy her like that.

It started with her dying her hair a different color, and then getting tattoos. Clara was furious, but she couldn’t stop Lana. She was hell bent on living her life the way she wanted, and since Clara is a very busy woman, she couldn’t always keep an eye on her daughter.

Back in the living room, Adam looks around Clara’s house and notices how well-kept it is. He sees so pictures of Lana before her pink hair/tattoo period, and she looks like the girl he rembered, sweet and innocent.

But Lana is now a completely different girl. Much bolder and outgoing.

He then hears Lana storm out of the kitchen, going back to her room. But to do so, she needs to walk past the living room. Lana makes eye contact with Adam. She gets embarrassed—tones down on her stomping before disappearing into her room.

Adam doesn’t think much of it.

A few minutes later, Clara returns with so cake that she had in house and the wine Adam brought.

It’s an expensive one as Adam didn’t want to cheap out, as it’s been years since he last saw Clara.

"Here, have a taste of this cake. I made it yesterday for Lana’s birthday," Clara says.

"It was her birthday yesterday?" Adam asks.

"Yes, she turned nineteen yesterday," Clara says, smiling.

"Hmm, this is delicious. I can’t believe I missed this cake for so long," Adam says, praising her baking skills, and his words hold no lie. The cake is genuinely delicious.

Clara feels very happy hearing Adam love her cake. "From now on, just give a call whenever you want sothing sweet. I will make it for you," Clara says.

"Thank you... Clara... Can I call you Clara? Calling you aunty feels weird..." Adam says awkwardly.

"Oh? Why is that? Your mother considered her sister, even though we aren’t blood related." Clara says.

"I know that... but you look too young and beautiful for to call you aunty," Adam says, smiling charmingly.

Hearing his sweet words and being blasted with his charming smile, Clara blushes. Her heart even skips a beat under the influence of Adam’s combined attack.

’My! If I were as young as my daughter, I would have been swept off my legs,’ Clara thinks, and calms her beating heart. ’Look at him, such a charming, handso young man,’ Clara thinks and smiles.

"Okay, you can call Clara from now on," She says.

"Clara, it is... So I don’t want to be rude, but I rembered you because I need sothing from you," Adam says.

"Oh? Well, it at least made you rember , so I don’t mind. Tell what it is?" Clara asks.

"I want you to be my personal lawyer, soone whom I can trust. And the only person I could think of whom I can trust is you... My late mother’s only friend," Adam says. His tone sounding heavy to add more impact to his words.

And just like he expected. ntioning his mother made Clara’s heart go soft. Though it’s a little manipulative of him to use his dead mother, he is not lying.

Clara is the only person he can trust.

"Are you in trouble? Did that bastard father of yours make your life hard?" Clara asks as fury starts blazing in her eyes. If there is anyone who hates his father more than him, it’s Clara.
