"I got this ti machine from the ruins of an ancient civilization," mphis said.
The sound of liquid falling into glass echoed into the past of the room for a long ti, distracting Kael and Exalon.
Exalon indulged in the fragrance but Kael’s frown hardened. He didn’t like the fact that these substances could actually pull his mind away.
It was scary to know that there were things like this that existed, preventing him from thinking properly as he used to.
Without hesitation, Kael activated his spirit powers and circulated the power all over his ntal space.
With this, he easily overca the intoxicating feeling caused by the fragrance. Exalon still seems lost but his willpower ensured that he would probably be able to pull out if he wanted to.
Katari remained stoic and unbothered
"What do you an, ancient ruins?" Kael asked with a narrowed gaze. He was now able to focus his thoughts on what was actually important.
What did mphis an by Ti Machine and Ancient Ruins? Could it be what he was thinking?
"Long ago, before I sat down on the peak of my mountain to take my first student many years ago, I ventured far into the universe.
I wandered and drifted aimlessly, hopping from one civilization nexus or planet hub to the other.
I visited many civilizations and lost count at so point.
It wasn’t long before I got wind that so small-ti intergalactic civilizations from one random galaxy were banding together to explore ancient planet ruins.
I could have contacted other lions from heaven and allowed my race to plunder everything for themselves.
But I didn’t. I chose to just go with the flow instead of complicating things.
I journeyed with one mixed-race rcenary group, enjoying their company and learning new things about them every second.
I watched as many low-grade interstellar travel spaceships closed in on this so-called ancient ruins planet.
The planet wasn’t guarded at all, even though it ended up harbouring many valuable items.
But it was to be expected, it was assud that the forr inhabitants of that planet probably didn’t have ti to set up any actual defenses.
At the sa ti, what was the point of protecting those treasures when they were probably not going to be able to use them? It would have been better if they had diverted all their energy toward keeping themselves alive.
We never knew which creatures once owned that planet and the advanced technology we found there, but we appreciate them for all they left behind.
Out of the many things that were there, many were simply one-ti use items that helped low-level creatures increase their power level slightly or trigger evolution.
With my power, I was able to easily snatch away this vessel as well as many other items before leaving.
Common sense told that if I took too much, I would be walking straight into destruction.
And I was right.
Those rcenaries and monarch civilizations could not contain their greed and took as many items as they could. I was even thinking of telling this to one or two lion kings to handle it.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the Laws of Karma, Luck, Destiny, and Entropy converged all at once on the participants of that excavation.
Most of those civilizations were destroyed, not by an enemy, but by their own hands. They imploded on themselves, their ranks unable to handle the level of technology they had acquired from the planet ruins.
A few other civilizations had been dissolved into smaller factions that took their own knowledge and technology to develop separately.
Only two civilizations were able to continue valiantly..." mphis paused.
"What?" Kael asked, noticing that mphis had stopped talking unnaturally. At the end of her last sentence, she had begun to drown and her eyes seed lost in the fogs of a distant mory.
"I usually don’t talk about back then because I feel like I made a severe mistake," mphis said.
"What mistake did you make?" Kael was curious.
"Back then, only two civilizations truly benefited from the findings of those ancient ruins.
The Bees and the Horses."
"The Bees and Horses?" Exalon asked as he snapped out of his distracted state.
His pupils shrank when he heard the last word.
"Horses, yes. The horses that you are probably very familiar with," mphis nodded and said.
Kael was confused, he had not yet read the encyclopedia that the monkeys left behind, and Nbayé who had read it beginning to end was not here to explain things to him.
"As you may or may not know, the Bees have been a reigning hegemonic force with significant stakes in different parts of the universe.
Although they tend not to interfere in the matters of others, they can be very nasty and unforgiving.
Whatever technology or artifacts they acquired back then were probably kept or stashed away to add to their overall strength.
After all, the Bees were affiliated with the Law of Nature, their desire to tinker with such artifacts was minimal but not low.
The horses on the other hand were creatures that the lions had been making sure to keep weak and at bay.
For this, our Ancient Cousins, the Cats, helped us out.
However, after the incident of that ancient ruins those thousands of years ago it has beco harder to keep track of the horse’s progress.
They went into the shadows with all their gains from the ancient ruins, most likely developing in silence away from the tyranny of the lions.
This is a very important thing because the horses are not just any creatures that should be taken lightly."
"Really? What’s their affiliated law?" Kael asked. Now that he thought about it, he had not really seen any actual horses.
The closest thing he had seen to horses was zebras and wildebeests.
mphis sighed, "Their affiliated law is the reason why lions cannot afford to stop trying to take them down and suppress them.
The horses are directly affiliated with the Law of Conquering. Which ans that they are a blatant competitor to our race."
"What!" Kael exclaid. He turned to Exalon to see his downcast expression, "Why didn’t you tell about this.
This is sothing I should have known," He said.
Exalon sighed too, "I was too preoccupied with other things, I didn’t even think about the horses.
Also, I assud this was sothing you already knew."
"Obviously, I don’t," Kael said.
Katari gave a side-eye to Exalon, as if blaming him for Kael’s current dissatisfaction.
Exalon noticed her gaze and wondered what exactly was wrong with this Katari. She always behaved weirdly and made him feel on edge.
"Stop looking at like that," Exalon told Katari telepathically.
Katari did not respond and only looked away, clearly not intimidated by Kael’s warning.
Exalon was starting to wonder where Kael found all his consorts from. He realized that another crazy one had recently been added to the mix, Alora.
sigh...’
"Yes, they are Horses of Conquest. Just like us, they are affiliated with the Law of Conquering," mphis said.
"Hmm, then why haven’t they been eliminated yet?" Kael asked. His mind imdiately labelled the horses as threats to his goals as he knew who they were and what they stood for.
Not once did he think of eting them and forming so kind of agreent. No, Kael wanted it all.
"The sa reason Ibadon hasn’t yet gone full psycho on us. And it’s the sa reason Creation Dragons could never be wiped out.
It’s the sa reason Noel failed to wipe out the tigers.
Genocide is hard," mphis said.
She then brought the cup to her mouth and took a sip. The liquid flowed into her mouth, filling her tongue with a strong and sweet sensation.
The parchedness of her mouth from talking for too long was gone. She enjoyed the taste for a few seconds before resuming her focus on Kael.
"Because of , my lack of interference, the horses gained sothing that could potentially give them an advantage over us.
We don’t know what they are planning but they seem to be gathering their forces for a universe-wide gallop.
Our expectation is that they will soon try to take one of the heavenly realms for themselves."
"They can do that?" Kael raised his eyebrows. Silax was the one who helped the lions get their own heavenly realm.
To think that a race would attempt to get its own heavenly realm and beco one of the hegemonic forces of the universe.
Kael felt both threatened and excited.
"They can, and they are already making attempts to do so," mphis said before taking another sip of her wine.
The two empty glass cups were beside her, sitting on the panel. It was as if she had just brought them out to tease them.
"Is anyone doing anything to stop them?" Kael asked.
This ti, Exalon was the one to answer, "Yes, All-King. The Shadow Tyranny Coalition has occupied itself with the investigation and annihilation of the budding horse civilization," Exalon said.
"Do you think they will be successful?" Kael asked.
mphis shrugged her shoulders, "It’s hard to say. I obtained this ti machine from the ancient ruins, who knows what they got?
They could have hundreds of those anti-power rockets at the mont and we wouldn’t know."
"Hmm," Kael sank into thought, feeling the weight of another pressure.
"That’s enough for now," mphis said before drinking all the wine from her glass mug. She kept it aside along with the wine bottle.
"We’ve almost arrived at our destination,"
