"We want her heart," He said, looking at Victoria with a predatory gaze, "Give her to us..."
The silence in the eting room reigned for many minutes, with Emperor Zain and Victoria staring at Kael with a look of astonishnt in their faces.
Emperor Zain managed to keep his smile but his eyes were still opened wide.
Victoria on the other hand had a blank expression but there was a faint flicker of killing intent in her eyes which ca and went away very fast.
anwhile, Kael maintained eye contact with Emperor Zain and Alora maintained eye contact with Victoria.
"What do you an?" Emperor Zain asked, calming down after processing the request. He asked to make a confirmation so as not to be confused.
"We want her," Kael said, "She will be the compensation."
"Why?" Emperor Zain asked, "Do you have beef with her?" He wondered.
Sure, Victoria had been the one to communicate with Ma’abu and facilitate the alliance with the Anti-Primordial Coalition, but that should all be in the past now.
He was not just asking for a tier 7 dragon which was hard to find anywhere, he was also demanding the life of Zain’s disciple.
"Not really," Kael said, "But the alliance with Ma’abu cost us a lot of lives and many powerful kings died.
We need to recover our losses.
We need the nutrition that she will provide..."
"WHAT!" Victoria exclaid, her azure eyes lighting up with power and killing intent, "You want to feed to your kings?"
Kael didn’t answer the question, there was a slight frown on his face due to being interrupted by Victoria who he already considered as food at this mont.
"No," Alora was the one to speak up.
"Not only do we need you to help recover our losses, we also need this compensation as a confirmation of the Dragon Emperor’s will for an alliance.
If not, how can we trust you?
We are already risking ourselves by joining this very unnecessary alliance, and we are to assu you would abandon us once your war is won.
At least, we want to know that the Dragon Emperor has integrity and is not just all talk.
Besides, the one that you will be fed to is no lion king, but ."
Victoria and Emperor Zain had been listening attentively to what Alisa was saying, already coming up with counter argunts instinctively.
Then, they heard the last sentence from Alora and froze.
Victoria turned to Alora, their eyes clashing. Victoria no longer hid her intense killing intent and allowed it to flow out in excess.
The air in the room stilled.
"Emperor Zain," Kael spoke up with a warning tone as he leveled his gaze with Victoria.
Emperor Zain snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Victoria. He placed a hand in the shoulder pad of her combat vest in an attempt to calm her.
It worked, her azure eyes cald down and she was able to start relaxing her killing intent.
Who could bla her for this reaction? This wasn’t just a slap to the dignity of the Creation Dragon Empire, it was also an attempt on her life.
"This request is..." Emperor Zain paused, preventing himself from saying the first thing that ca to his mind, "It is impossible for us to acknowledge, All-King."
Kael nodded, "Then you may leave, you have no business here.
When we are done with Elizabeth and the Destruction Dragons, perhaps, we will co to you."
Kael spoke with an air of dominance and stubbornness. It was like it didn’t matter whether heaven fell or the universe crumbled, his will was his will, and nothing will change it.
Kael leaned back and stood up along with Alora.
Emperor Zain had thought Kael was bluffing but it seed like he was actually serious.
Kael really didn’t want any other compensation besides Victoria herself.
"All-King!" Emperor Zain called but Kael did not stop his movent. Alora was the one to pause and look at Emperor Zain like a loyal secretary shielding her boss.
"The All-King has a lot of duties to attend to.
I’m afraid he will not have much ti in the future to entertain such a waste of ti again.
We wish you luck in regards to your war with your cousins."
After Alora said that, she followed Kael’s tall figure who was already moving to the door entrance.
"Wait! Let’s talk about this!" Emperor Zain said, raising his voice slightly.
He didn’t know why but for so reason, Emperor Zain felt like he was not talking to an inexperienced lion who was barely two decades old.
What he didn’t know was that a vast archive of mories from the previous Primordial Lions had already been integrated into Kael’s mind.
Although they were not his mories and he could not just access them subconsciously the way he accessed his own personal mories, it was still there.
As he embodied his law to completion, the line that separated his mories from his predecessors was starting to blur with ti.
Kael was speaking with the sa firmness that would have been possessed by Ishat or Jin. Strength and Pride were being maxed out to the absolute limits within Kael’s mind.
Emperor Zain could not possibly tell what went on in Kael’s mind. He knew that he was already seen as the weaker party but he didn’t know how low Kael had devalued him.
Victoria turned to look at her master with eyes filled with fear for the first ti in centuries.
She could sense sothing from Emperor Zain’s voice just now, desperation.
Emperor Zain was desperate.
No, the whole Creation Dragons were desperate, they desperately needed an advantage against the cousins or they risked being cast out of heaven once again and losing their ho for another couple million years.
The thing was, Victoria knew that desperation could easily lead to people willing to do anything to get what they want.
Emperor Zain wasn’t just worried about the empire. He was an immortal, his worries had gone beyond such structures.
What worried him the most was the possibility of failure in achieving his own embodint of the law of Creation.
He knew the consequences of another race’s Primordial achieving the embodint before him.
And there was the threat of Ibadon.
Even among immortals, there were strong immortals and weak ones.
Ibadon was at the absolute peak of the immortal tier, technically having very few individuals who could do anything to him in the whole universe.
Although Emperor Zain was not at the lowest possible level for an immortal, he was still very weak compared to soone like Ibadon.
He needed allies, powerful allies who may not be a threat to the abomination but could cause trouble for him.
The lions were such allies.
The benefits of this alliance were deep. Technically speaking, in the grand sche of things, Victoria herself didn’t matter.
It wasn’t like she was going to be an immortal. And even if she did, her importance to the whole Creation Dragon Empire then would not be as significant as Emperor Zain’s.
All that mattered was the embodint, not Victoria.
And this fact made Victoria truly scared. Death on the battlefield was understandable, she had always prepared her mind that she could die from anything in combat.
But to fall at the hands of her own master?
"Master..." Victoria spoke, her voice painfully low.
Emperor Zain heard her but he did not respond to her call.
"Can’t we talk about this? Any other tier 7 entity? We have more than just Victoria. Say the word and we will agree imdiately to capture one and send him or her your way."
The words of Emperor Zain struck Victoria’s heart like a hamr.
She should be happy that he was trying to negotiate to not have to choose her. But she couldn’t be happy.
Emperor Zain talked as if he had other options but was being forced to choose Victoria.
He didn’t establish any boundaries and say that Victoria was off the table, he didn’t say anything to make it even sound like Victoria was a very valuable asset.
"Do not negotiate with Zain! Victoria! Deal or no deal!" Kael shouted without turning his back.
He was already upon the entrance and about to leave the room permanently. Once he did, true to his words, this eting would never happen again.
Kael would never honor another eting for an alliance.
The next ti the Creation Dragons and the Lions t, it would be in the battlefield and the Creation Dragons would have to fight for their freedom.
The Conquerors had no friends, they either had followers or foes.
"FINE!" Emperor Zain shouted, slamming his fist down on the fur-covered table in anger and righteous fury.
The ground cracked and the land of the whole pyramid seems to sink downward slightly.
His shout was so loud that so tal plates dented when struck by the sound waves.
Kael’s blonde hair and Alora’s white hair shifted slightly due to the waves. They had paused, standing still at the entrance after hearing Emperor Zain.
"Fine!" Emperor Zain said, the smile on his face completely vanishing with an anger old and ancient.
Beside him, Victoria’s heart sank to the bottom of her stomach.
Suddenly, the world seed less colorful than she thought.
A feeling of weakness and swift depression overwheld her without warning.
Her shoulders relaxed.
’What was the point?’ The thought ca to her mind as she sat there, listless.
Just then, Kael turned around with a calm expression and made another request.
"Kill her now,"
