"What would have happened is my soul completely consuming Evansen's."
"Wait, what?!"
Evansen exclaid in shock, his expression mirrored by everyone at the table except Vincent and Evankhell, who already understood the reason behind Evankhell's words.
"I don't understand," Evansen continued. "We were talking about forcing your soul out of my forr body. How did this suddenly beco about soul cannibalism?"
Evankhell couldn't hold back his laughter at Evansen's words.
"Soul cannibalism? It's not really soul cannibalism, dude."
"What could that possibly be other than cannibalism?" Evansen imdiately questioned, and at this, Evankhell's laughter faded, his gaze turning serious as he faced Evansen.
"You really haven't figured it out, have you?"
He sighed, stirring his drink with the straw while holding up his other hand to make a list.
"We're about 60% similar in appearance, similar nas, our base skills were exactly the sa, and you don't know this, but when I entered your body, I was able to use magic power and skills within 10 minutes."
"What? That's impossible."
Gabrielle's imdiate reaction to Evankhell's statent made Evansen turn to her with a questioning look.
"How long is it supposed to take?"
She didn't get a chance to answer before Evankhell spoke up.
"Much longer. Body hopping is simple in concept but complicated in practice because of the issue of body-soul compatibility.
Low compatibility can prevent skills from activating, make energy circuits struggle to channel energy properly, and even basic motor coordination can beco difficult. rely walking would already be a challenge.
It's a huge ss if two of the three major aspects of your existence aren't working together correctly, after all."
Pointing at Evansen with his straw, he continued, "But when I entered your body, the only issue I faced was a desynchronization in the lifeline connecting my soul to your body, which resolved over a couple of years.
That's a sign of over 90% compatibility.
So I ask you this, Evansen. Our similarities in appearance, nas, skills, my soul's high compatibility with your forr body, and the fact that Artemisia chose out of all the bodies on Aidos at the ti…you don't think it's all just one big coincidence, right?"
Evansen didn't say a word after being asked this question.
Individually, none of the points seed connected, but listed together, it was obvious sothing else was at play.
After a mont of silence, Evansen finally asked.
"What's the reason?"
Evankhell put his straw back in his milkshake before answering with an explanation.
"It's a long story, but I'll shorten it as much as possible since we don't have much ti. Basically, a long ti ago, there was this guy called 'Prisma.'"
The ntion of that na made Eliza narrow her eyes silently. She rembered the FCDs referring to Evankhell by that na, and she also recalled him ntioning it not long ago when talking to Aphine.
"Prisma had been a fighter for as long as he could rember, and he got tired.
Wanting to experience the mundane life of a mortal instead of that of the strongest being in the universe, which was filled with fighting and war, he decided to seal away his power, mories, and original body, and throw his soul into the cycle of reincarnation, where it would inhabit mortal bodies, live ordinary lives, grow old, die, and reincarnate again.
Prisma wanted to experience as much of the mundane life as he could, even if his mories were wiped after every reincarnation."
Gabrielle frowned as he spoke, since what Evankhell was saying contradicted known history, but Evankhell didn't let anyone interrupt him and continued explaining.
"About six or seven reincarnations in, Prisma's soul was supposed to reincarnate into a certain High-Level World, but because of the sheer size of his powerful soul, it couldn't fit into the channel connecting the Reincarnation Path to that world.
To deal with this, Prisma temporarily awakened and severed a portion of his soul to shrink its size, and he was able to reincarnate into that world successfully.
That world is the planet we are currently on—Earth V."
Evankhell paused to take a drink before continuing.
"Now then, the severed portion of Prisma's soul didn't just vanish into thin air.
Even though it was only a small part of his soul, it was the soul of a powerful existence. It was high-quality spiritual material that the universe didn't let go to waste.
It wrapped that material around a brand-new soul core and generated another soul, which was then incarnated into Pri World Aidos as Evansen Del Eris."
Looking directly at Evansen, Evankhell smiled calmly and concluded.
"So, Evansen, the similarity between our nas and appearances, as well as the compatibility between my soul and your forr body, are not just coincidences.
It's because your existence began as a severed portion of mine.
The reason why Beatrix's plan—the goddess who sent those god and Demon Lords to attack you—would have failed is because if your soul had co anywhere close to mine while it was still not fully synchronised with your forr body, it would have been devoured to give my soul everything it needed for perfect synchronisation, and you would have ceased to exist.
It wouldn't be cannibalism. It's more accurate to say my soul would be reclaiming sothing it had lost."
The table fell silent after Evankhell finished speaking, and he casually picked up his burger and took a bite.
Eliza, who had always suspected there was more to Evankhell than she knew, was still very surprised, even though part of her had already guessed so of this.
Fallen Deities tens of thousands of years old calling Evankhell 'Prisma', his skill literally bearing the na 'Prismatic Inferno', his strange relationship with Kayla, the forr Spirit Empress, Artemisia, and the way he spoke with Aphine.
The few months he'd spent in the past with them weren't enough to explain how close he was to them, especially Kayla, whom he'd only t once during that ti.
They had to have t again at so other point, for far longer, and his previous life as 'Prisma' had to be where those connections were forged.
As for Evansen, he didn't know how to process the information he'd just been given.
Being told that one was nothing more than a discarded portion of another being's soul wasn't sothing anyone could take in easily.
"Don't be so scared, Evansen," Evankhell said, wiping the sauce from his lips.
"It's not like I can just devour your soul whenever I want. You're your own complete existence with your own mories and Existential Records, which, aside from the base, are completely different from mine.
Just don't have your soul exposed in a situation where I'm dealing with a huge amount of soul damage, and you'll be fine."
When Evankhell said that, Vincent imdiately comnted.
"He says that like it's a condition you can et on a random Tuesday."
Evankhell chuckled lightly at Vincent's remark, then shrugged.
"What? I'm being honest. That's pretty much the only situation where his soul could get absorbed by mine.
If I'm conscious when that happens, I'd stop it anyway, since dealing with his 17 years' worth of mories would be a massive pain in the behind. I don't want a split personality."
Just as he said that, the waiter arrived with a bucket of popcorn and syrup, and seeing it, Evankhell blinked in surprise.
"Oh, you actually did! Thanks!"
Taking the tray, he glanced at Evansen and said, "Don't feel too bad about it. You'd be fine. I felt about the sa when I found out I was the reincarnation of a 7000 year old godslayer King."
He then began munching on his popcorn, while Eliza silently stabbed her fries with her fork, carefully organising all the information Evankhell had just given her and building a ntal tiline of events.
Gabrielle, still shocked that Evankhell was Prisma's reincarnation, had no words, and before she could find any, Vincent's phone rang.
He glanced at it, and seeing the na on the screen, his expression brightened slightly.
"Oh, it's Kristine," he said.
Before he could pick up, Evankhell snatched the phone and answered, placing it to his ear as he spoke.
"Hey, mum. How's it going?"
The woman on the other end was silent for a mont, then there was a crashing sound like sothing had fallen, and just as Evankhell was about to call out in worry, her voice ca through.
[…Evan?]
"Yes, it's Evan. Are you okay? Did sothing fall? I'm switching to video."
Evankhell imdiately did as he said, switching to a video call, and when the face of the shocked platinum blonde-haired and hazel-eyed woman appeared on the screen, he smiled lightly.
"Hey. Long ti no see."
[…why…did I forget…?]
Clearly, her mories of Evankhell had just returned, and she looked dumbfounded at how she could have forgotten him in the first place.
Once again, Evankhell was reminded of how powerful the current Artemisia was, capable of obscuring the mories of an Olden Human Queen like Kristine, and even temporarily affecting the 'Supre' Human King, Vincent, both of whom were Superior High-Tier Deities like her.
"It's a bit of a long story. Are you heading ho now? I've got soone I want to introduce to you."
[…yes, I'm going ho… Where's Vincent?]
Vincent was about to respond to his wife's question, but Evankhell imdiately flicked so popcorn into his open mouth and casually answered.
"Choking to death on so popcorn. Don't worry about him. Drive ho safe, okay? I'll see you in a bit."
Kristine blinked in surprise, clearly hearing Vincent choking, and then a wry smile appeared on her face as she nodded.
[Mhmm]
Evankhell ended the call right after and dropped the phone back on the table, and at this, Vincent snapped.
"You crazy kid!"
"That's payback for chasing like a stalker 10,000 years ago," Evankhell shot back instantly.
"I did nothing of the sort!" Vincent snapped, grabbing his phone and quickly dialling his wife as he got up and walked away to avoid being interrupted.
"Don't go too far, Old man. You still have to pay for the food!" Evankhell called out loudly, prompting Vincent to turn back with a middle finger.
Evankhell just laughed, the smile on his face making it clear to everyone how much enjoynt he got from these silly interactions.
Watching him, Eliza noticed there was no hint of the invisible distance that always existed between him and the Eris Ducal Couple on Aidos.
Compared to them, Evankhell was far more at ease with Vincent and Kristine.
