"This Earthwave thing is cool…"
Evan muttered as he landed on the wave beside David and folded his wings while the other teen ignored the complint and voiced questions about the situation.
"Why did Laurene suddenly turn off her skill? And what happened there?"
"I t a slightly troubleso opponent. Too bad he didn't have any eyes…would have loved to gain his skill."
Such was Evan's reply as he turned his gaze to the side and conjured an array of prismatic fla weapons, while David activated a Stonefall Barrage in the opposite direction.
In the split second before both of them fired the projectiles, ribbons of wind and lightning swirled around them and they both glanced westward to see Laurene standing atop the ruins of a half-collapsed building.
The orbs hovering behind her rotated as she unleashed beams of elental light infused with divinity in every direction.
A trio of Demonic Fused Senior mbers launched a coordinated magical assault on Laurene, prompting her to swiftly leap from her platform a second before it succumbed to destruction.
She activated Sky Steps and placed her feet on the footholds of energy, gazing at the trio who attacked after a mont's pause.
Chants filled the air as the scene instantly transford into a mage battle, with nurous grunts on the ground lending support to the Senior mbers with their array of spells and skills.
David wanted to interfere, but Evan held him back and shook his head, trusting Laurene to handle them on her own while they headed to deal with the other Demonic Hand Senior mbers.
Laurene noticed this little movent in the corner of her vision, but she didn't pay too much mind to it, returning her full focus to the Senior mbers attacking her.
She remained composed, jumping from one sky step to another as she dodged their spells and skills. The orbs hovering behind her pulsated with elental energy and she flicked her wrist, unleashing torrents of flas towards one Senior mber while conjuring a horizontal tornado of wind to buffet another.
'Spiral Fla. Tornado Fang.
Lightning Storm.'
The third person found themselves ensnared with tendrils of crackling blue lightning; each spell infused with divinity to deal maximum damage to the Demonic Humans.
Despite being outnumbered greatly, Laurene held her own, deftly dodging their attacks while launching her counterattacks with deadly precision.
Her pupils darted around rapidly as she discerned each one's elental weakness and targeted them with spells that matched that weakness.
Though she was fighting the Senior mbers, she didn't hesitate to dispatch the grunts on the ground with well-aid 'Arcane Bolts of Severance', her favourite lightning spell.
She targeted the supports first, taking them out before proceeding to slowly chip away at the others. With each one she killed; the tide of this battle began turning in her favour.
As the Senior mbers unleashed their barrage of demonic magic, tendrils of dark energy lashed out towards Laurene, seeking to ensnare her in their grasp.
Yet, her divinity-infused orb behind her flashed and spears of divine light materialized and pierced the dark tendrils midway, preventing them from ever reaching her.
Imdiately after that, she turned to gaze at one of them and a four-ringed Magic Circle manifested behind him.
Faster than he could dodge, bolts of flas erupted from it and engulfed him in the raging inferno of the firestorm spell.
'Should I try out Brachium? But that spell requires physical contact and I'm not exactly keen on letting that guy with a poison skill get close to …'
As she contemplated her options, the orbs hovering behind her unleashed omnidirectional lasers, after which she snapped her fingers and unleashed four cyclones of wind to hit the Senior mber about to use Water magic to help the one caught in her firestorm.
Without the need for incantations, Laurene could launch 4 or 5 spells in the ti it took them to even fire one, so it was like they didn't even get a chance to attack.
To add salt to the injury, Laurene's Mystic Eyes allowed her spells to ho in on their opponents, so unless they countered with another spell of theirs or used strong barriers, her magic would always strike true.
'Wait, I can just end this with 'Enigmatic Tempest'.'
Coming to that realisation, Laurene dismissed the sky step she was on and let gravity pull her body to the ground, enabling her to dodge the wave of black flas that consud the space she was in.
'Thunder god's Boots. Thunder god's Gloves.'
A pair of boots and clawed gloves created with blue lightning appeared around her arms and feet, reaching up to her knees and elbows.
Her eyes glowed as she faced the barrage of spells aiming towards her, calling out the activation words for her skill.
"Enigmatic Tempest: Storm's Embrace."
A vortex of wind swirled around her and mixed in with the lightning, granting her a level of speed that even David couldn't follow her with his eyes.
The girl blitzed through the air as a streak of blue light, and it took a good 5 seconds for the sound of her movents to reach the ears of the Demonic Hand mbers.
However, their brains could not process this sound as they were already dead, their throats and chests slashed by Laurene's clawed gloves.
'Divine Rain.'
Her blue divinity-infused lightning rained down from the sky across the area, hitting the weak points of the spells they sent upwards to disrupt them.
"There she is! Earth bind!"
"Dark Magic: Lightless Rain!"
Two of the Senior mbers spotted her amidst the rain of lightning, and they used a spell to restrain her, allowing the other to send his own array of Darkness Projectiles.
"Grey Walker's Gambit."
The space before Laurene distorted and the darkness projectiles all veered off course, hitting so Demonic Hand mbers in the process.
"Spatial Magic?!"
"Yes, Spatial Magic."
"?!"
The Senior mber's body shook with fear when he heard Laurene's voice ring out from behind him.
'If she's behind , then what am I looking at?!'
The answer was an Illusion. One she created in the sa instant she used "Grey Walker's Gambit" to distort space.
She didn't only distort space to send the attacks off course, but to teleport herself behind her enemy as well.
Laurene clenched her fists and punched the man in the back, activating the powerful Fla Magic Spell: Brachium.
Four rings of fiery light manifested around her fist as it connected with his back faster than he could turn around, triggering an explosion of azure blue flas that consud him whole.
The force of the blast radiated outwards, obliterating him and everything within a kilotre radius, leaving behind only charred remnants and smouldering debris in its wake.
Despite having killed one of her opponents, Laurene's expression was one of utter confusion as she questioned aloud.
"Why was the fire blue?"
However, she did not have the leeway to dwell on that as the other charged at her with lethal intent, both holding two three-ringed magic circles in their hands.
"Tempest Surge."
Her Skill's fourth ability was activated and a shockwave of wind and lightning swept across the battlefield, knocking back the two charging Senior mbers and giving her the chance to chain it to the fifth.
"Chaotic Outburst."
The tempest intensified and lashed out at them with bursts of lightning and wind, paralyzing and slashing them all over.
The spell circles they held were shattered by the powerful lightning energy, leaving them defenceless against the onslaught of crackling bolts and swirling blades.
Their bodies convulsed as they were struck by the relentless force and in a matter of monts, the Senior mbers were overwheld by the chaotic outburst, their forms consud by the raging elents until nothing remained but scorched remnants scattered across the battlefield.
"That's a wrap, I guess."
Laurene spoke as she dismissed the Thunder god spells, before using her divinity and light magic to heal her arms and legs that felt sore.
"I knew it from my mories, but feeling it is different. It makes sense why those Seven always stuck together."
She muttered under her breath while dismissing the Level Up notifications in her field of view, flexing her fingers as she felt power coursing through her whole being.
Extra power that was a result of the Resonance between Her, David and Evan's Mystic Eye Series Skills and Hero Titles.
The girl shook her head lightly, before pulling up her status board and looking at the ability list under her third Unique Skill.
