Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out? Chapter 1643 1643: Back From The Dungeon
-----
"We're finally back on the surface… Things seem to be alright here, thankfully…"
"Well, it's a relief no monster from the dungeon tried attacking the village."
Shade looked around the Oasis, as he and Nepheline erged from the water within a small bubble of abyssal energy, which resembled a pitch-black sphere floating in midair.
They quickly moved ashore, making their way to the village while sorting out their thoughts as they discussed, all while Shade glanced at the two new tablets his spirits had found.
"So we've really found quite sothing…" Shade said. "What do you think we should do, Nepheline? That city… Should we leave it alone?"
"I… don't know honestly, but I'm sure Aquarina will want to see it once we tell her about it, so we can't really stop that," Nepheline laughed a bit. "But it's weird and strange, yeah… We'll have to ask the chief and even the spirit if they know sothing more about this city."
"Yeah, for now it's better to stay away from it, but I don't know if we'll be able to stop our daughter from running there," Shade said. "Any ideas to keep her here?"
"None, we can't lie to her either, she'll see right through our lies," Nepheline sighed. "That Ability she has is a real pain in the backside!"
"Hahah, well, it's a power inherited from my family. I wasn't born with it though, but I rember that so of the mbers of the Darkage Family could discern any lies and read through people's minds," said Shade. "Though I doubt she can go that far."
"She hasn't shown that power yet at least," Nepheline said. "But yeah, if we lie she knows, and she can even tell if soone is hiding bad intentions quite easily too…"
"We'll have to just request of her to not go overboard and to let us explain things to her and everyone first," said Shade. "Aquarina might be reckless sotis, but she's a smart kid, she'll know that she doesn't have to jump there alone or sothing."
"Hmm…" Nepheline nodded. "What do the tablets say?"
"More incomprehensible gibberish," Shade said. "Words that don't make sense and are particularly hard to connect… But overall, more of them are the sa thing as the first tablet we found. I believe the gods were involved with this city sowhat, and their presence in that dungeon has sothing to do with it."
"So you're saying you don't believe the ti travel narrative?" Nepheline asked.
"Not at all, I think that's just a lie," said Shade. "A Ti Magic Spell of such caliber is simply impossible… these people didn't travel through ti, maybe they stayed in so kind of dormant state. Or sothing…"
"A dormant state for millions of years? I doubt that would be possible…" Said Nepheline. "But that ruined city on top of it, don't you rember how it looked? It was almost the sa, but slightly smaller."
"Yeah I do… The sa house positions, the sa walls, the sa pavent, the sa everything… The thing we found there were only the colorful shells, enormous and empty ones full of spirit crystals and mana…" Shade said.
"And they look a lot like the shells of those people, right? As if they left it behind after their deaths," Nepheline said. "We should've tried to show them the shells now that I think about it…"
"Yeah, we should've done that, but at the sa ti I fear we could've scared them. To these people it might be the sa as showing a human the skeleton of another," explained Shade. "It's not sothing they would be happy to see if they aren't so sort of Necromancer."
"Right…" Nepheline said. "And this King they got… He's kind of suspicious, right? I want to see who he truly is, what he's doing, and what are his plans for his people…"
"I think the sa but at the sa ti, I believe that getting too involved wouldn't be good either, Nepheline…" Shade said. "We have no right to get involved into their affairs, no? We would only co out as villainous if we tried to enforce our own beliefs on other people."
"Aaaah…" Nepheline rolled her eyes. "You're right… Fuck."
"They don't seem to be suffering or being oppressed. They're living happily and don't seem to hate their King either," Shade said. "Until then, we can't really act. Unless their King is a tyrant treating them badly, then just going against him cos out as hypocrite and nonsensical. Everyone has their own cultures and laws they follow. Although so might feel strange to us, if these people are not suffering under them, then there's little point in trying to change how things are or opposing their leaders."
"Not wrong dear," Nepheline sighed. "It's nice to have you around, I would be kind of like Aquarina if you weren't here to help out sort out my thoughts from ti to ti…"
"I know," Shade said, as he smiled lightly. "But this is a mystery I want to solve as well, even if we don't go against anybody. There are many spying thods I have that don't involve harming anybody. You should leave this to ."
"Okay then," Aquarina nodded. "We don't know if that place is dangerous or not though… should bringing the kids there be a bad idea?"
"I'm not sure… But as long as we go with them they will be safe," Shade said.
"True! I guess we'll go on a family trip tomorrow?" Nepheline smiled. "Aquarina and her friends are going to be happy I guess."
"I suppose so… We should have a talk with their parents again, to ask for their permission to bring them along, they might not be able to go back to sleep at their house," Shade said.
"Right… they seed a bit strict, especially that boy's parents," said Nepheline. "We better tell them beforehand before they get grounded and then things get sadder for them, I wouldn't want the kids to suffer if possible, quite honestly."
"Well said, I think the sa… Ah, we're here already," Shade said.
"Heroes!"
"You've co back!"
"Welco back, heroes."
"Was your trip to the dangerous dungeon useful for your research?"
The Oasis People quickly sward the two heroes, they were big fans.
